Urban Meyer has made LB Trey Johnson a recruiting priority (AP)
Georgia will have only one player pick a hat on national TV during an all-star game.
It’s Trey Johnson, the linebacker from Central Gwinnett High School.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder will announce his college decision on ESPN during the Under Armour All-America game at 5 p.m. Friday. Here’s Johnson on his finalists:
Most people consider it “automatic” for Johnson to select Ohio State because that’s the only college that he toured on an official visit. What is Johnson’s response to that? “I made a ton of official visits. I took three trips to Florida. I’ve been to Tennessee twice, but I haven’t been up there recently.”
Why did Johnson want to commit on national TV? “I don’t know. It just felt right, putting the hat on TV. It’s something I’d seen before. It’s something I kind of wanted to do.”
Guess who is visiting with Johnson in the team hotel on Friday night? None other than Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, which also lends to the theory that Trey will pick the Buckeyes. I mean, it would be kind of awkward if Johnson picked another college and had to face Meyer.
Then again, Auburn’s defensive coaches will also meet with Johnson on Friday night. They’re trying to lure him back to the Tigers. Johnson committed to Auburn as a sophomore but finally de-committed last month after Auburn changed defensive coordinators for a third time in three years.

Just sign one of those SEC Financial Aid Agreements to one of the schools and then no team can try to flip you later. You know like Saban got the kid to do so Ole Miss would leave him alone.

I wish he cared about his college choice based on the Degree he wanted to study for FREE as much as he cared about what coach showed him the most love.

It’s The Ohio State University, as so named by the Ohio legislature back in the 1780’s.

It’s not cheating according to the SEC when you can over sign every year and get rid of the underperforming players.

Doesn’t Urban have more pressing issues with which to deal? Like rape allegations against 2 of his players…

BuckeyeB…..
Muschamp is closing is 29 to 30 member class with two defensive lineman (a DT…Adams the main target) and a DE…Walker the main target), a cornerback (Ramsey or Alexander are the main targets), a wide receiver (Robinson), and possibly Collins at RB. I believe Florida has completed its haul of LBs for this year. He waited too long to pull the trigger for the Gators and no spot for him now. I think he is a lock for Ohio State as they badly need LBs for this year’s class now.

Ohio State is hauling in a nice class(Trey Johnson is a lock) and already have the attention of all the top 2014 Georgia kids. Whatever Meyer is doing it must be right. You can bet OSU will be contending with all SEC teams as soon as Meyers recruits are suited up by 2014. Any football fan can see that, I dont care if you’re a Dawg fan, a Gator or anything else. That man can recruit!
