Preview of the Georgia’s top college prospects for 2014

Norcross DE Lorenzo Carter could not play because of basketball, and Buford LB Korie Rogers has family matters to attend. Other than that, almost every top 2014 prospect in the state of Georgia — at this point in the recruiting process — was invited to the game and all of them showed up. An amazing job by the selection committee, and an incredible turnout by the kids. We’ll be posting updates the rest of the week.

Norcross DE Lorenzo Carter is rated the #2 recruit in the nation by 247sports and has not been offered by Georgia.I really don`t understand why Georgia continues to be late and try to play catch up in recruiting. He is a life long Georgia fan . Alabama and Florida have offered already.

Saban’s going to rabbit to Texas Longhorns in 2014. His wife says he doesn’t come home happy after a win any more – sure sign of a restless rabbit about to run. 2013 will be Saban’s last class at Bummer. Will Kirby Smart continue to be Saban’s gopher or will he be the next MAN at Bummer – that’s the question. So far Smart hasn’t had the confidence to venture out on his own. After all – Smart knows that Saban runs the defense and that defense was vulnerable to the pass this season.

DeShaun Watson wont go to Clemson.. OHIO STATE BOUND!!

Can’t wait to see these young guys get after it.. So glad it will be streaming.. I’m very interested to see Mr. Watson throwing to the “Gator” out of the slot… Young Cam Newtown of Gainesville throwing to Gator Green of Burke County… That is just SCARY!!..

One question about a recruit from the current senior class (if anyone knows anything let me know please), Why hasn’t Chris Washington of BC gotten any offers? First, the kid is an excellent person to be around (I work with the drama dept any time I can when I get home to give back, and met him when he was a freshman), he is very respectful, does anything you ask, and is a class act. Second, pound for pound, he’s gotta be one of the strongest kids in the state (check out the articles about him from the 7 on 7’s this past summer). Third, he is ALWAYS around the ball (led the Bears in tackles, etc) and hits hard. Fourth, he has the pedigree (Big bro C. Wash of UGA will be drafted for sure). Can someone tell me something about this? I heard a couple of people say his size is holding him back but, that didn’t hurt the player that he reminds me of the most, Rennie Curran.. He is also bigger than Rennie by an inch or two and about 20 pounds. He’s listed at 6′1″, 250 and runs a 4.6 40yd… I think he has D1 potential but, maybe that’s just me… Anyone?

@AthensTider: I don’t think anyone on here sounds that childish.. Truth is, they are just speaking on what all of the major sports sources are reporting.. I haven’t heard this Texas thing but, the NFL gig must have some kind of legs because that’s all the sports journalist keep mentioning. I think your statement sounds a little more like you getting defensive because the Tide’s trip back to mediocrity may be right around the corner. If I was Saban, I would stay at Bama. That’s just me mainly because I value the college game more than the NFL…. FYI we don’t think our chances of reaching those milestones is dependent on the Tide. Personally, I would rather beat the Tide with Saban to make it. Congrats on your W and good luck vs. ND.. Please kick the hell outta the Irish!!

Terrone Prescod is the top Guard in the state of Georgia and arguably the top lineman in the state for 2014.

I’m a little supprised UGA hasn’t gone after more Olinemen and LBs. Many of our best kids will be playing for any school but UGA. So much for wrapping up our borders. Let me put it this way, Saban hasn’t even started to “cherry-pick” the best in Ga. yet. Maybe its me, but I’m not sure the UGA staff thinks contacting these kids early is as good an idea as I do. I may be wrong, he may already have his top 25 wish list that he’s already talked to, but every year, we miss some of the best in-state talent to our rivals. I know we can’t get them all, but shouldn’t we get the best? We all know CMR loves the skill positions but procrastinates on our linemen, both sides. Plus we need more stud LBs. The 2013 class will be large and will help alot, but its success will only be measured by how well we close with these last 3-5…Why can’t we wrap them up early???

Keep your eyes on Nick Chubb. He broke the record for the most yards rushing in regular season this year. He was a one man show with defenses stacking 8 and 9 in the box. This kid is special. He is not only a great athlete, but a great student and young man. He has a 3.81 GPA.

Amazed to see that GT is involved in so FEW of the top recruits for 2014!

The DAMAGE that Pajamas is doing to our FB Program from a recruiting standpoint is reaching “critical mass”; pretty soon the next GT HC won’t be able to recover from the damage that CPJ is doing to GT FB.

Pajamas is clearly a program dis-mantler rather than a program builder!

Not so fast my friend!

In recent years 60-70% of the top-50 (AJC) players in Ga. have been academic qualifiers for GT, remember that 90%+ of our players that actually touch the field are Business Admin majors and are not Engr. Majors.

Too often many GT Fans such as yourself default to the “Elite Academics excuse” rather than placing the blame on Pajamas being a terrible Recruiter.

UGA still trying to close on the 2013 recruiting class… finally with some clarification from the compliance office and CMR per Anthony Dasher @ UGA Sports…UGA will presently have 5 scholarships available for this 2013 class….

Currently monitoring Kennar Johnson’s situation closely as it could develop into another possible ship being available.

UGA 2013 recruiting board:

Laremy Tunsil 99.9%
Toby Johnson 98%
Montravius Adams 85%
Alvin Kamara 80%
Reuben Foster 80% (Bama out)
Matthew Thomas 50% UGA in top two with OV 2/01/2013
Tyrone Crowder 50% could be odd man out – (hope not)
Mackensie Alexander 50% waiting on some movement

2014 recruit offers coming after the dead period ends (CMR likes to hand deliver personally, as much as possible)

SABAN watch! Keep your eyes and ears open on this one. I just read on ESPN today that the “new ownership” of Cleveland Browns will let go the Head Coach and GM tomorrow or soon after. I also heard the owner was a Tennessee grad and that he wants Coach Saban to run the whole show. I don’t know how true this may be but I can see it if he is given full control of coaching and personnel.

Weather Bama fans want to admit it or not, you knew coming into this thing with Coach Saban it is what it is. And to put his feet in concrete blocks along with The Battleship Alabamas anchor chains to hold him down. Good luck!!!
