Which football recruit is on your Christmas wishlist?

Pretend you’re sitting on Santa’s lap.

If there’s one prospect that could wish for … for your favorite college football team, who would it be?

Post the prospect’s name and college team below, i.e. Robert Nkemdiche for Ole Miss. Or for Alabama, LSU, Clemson or whomever.

Just to make things interesting, we’ll only allow Santa wishes for uncommitted prospects, even though some of the committed prospects will surely waver over the next five weeks.

If you’re UGA, who do you put atop your wishlist?

Some would think the top priority would be 5-star LT Laremy Tunsil. That would give UGA Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall as tailbacks, with Tunsil and John Theus at tackles for the next few years. Some would ask Santa for 5-star DT Montravius Adams with the Bulldogs being wiped out on defense next year due to graduation and early NFL departures. Or there’s RB Alvin Kamara.

If you’re Georgia Tech, this class could be full already but the Yellow Jackets will likely add one or two more prospects. Who do you want them to be?

What about if you’re an Alabama fan?

St. Nick has always been good to Nick.

Maybe you want Nkemdiche, Montravius Adams and Kamara. We only said one. Please post below.

While we’re on the subject of Alabama, check out touching video of the Alabama grandfather getting surprise tickets to the BCS championship.

Spike the $&%*$ Ball

December 25th, 2012
3:52 am

Can you please post video of somebody, anybody, crying with tears of joy after getting Georgia tickets to the Capitol One Bowl? No, because your coach spiked the ball in one of the biggest blunders in college football history. Then Preacher boy spent the next three weeks convincing the media he made the right decision. He didn’t. Tan man blew it. Have fun in Orlando. RTR!

I have to be honest. I still have not gotten over that loss. After 30 year of futility we were 5 yards away from an epic moment. I love Richt but that was an awful decision. It will define his legacy.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I want anybody but Reuben Foster.

MC,

My wish is that we get all the top guys on defense first. RF, MA, and the kid lawson and the JUCO DT. Santa can throw in that offensive tackle too (LT) Go Dawgs…….yeah that lost hurts and very painful…….we as fan must get over it and support our team, imagine how they feel. 15 seconds,5 yards from playing for it all. I would have spiked the ball too, but they (the players) are on the battlefield and have to make those decisions. Suck it up as a fan and move on. Bulldawg Nation let it go and lets support our dawgs in 2013! Oh yeah……. I want Jones to stay, Geathers and O’tree, and murray to all stay. Not asking for to much….lol

I’m just about over the lost SECC game. But still think about it every time I see a Alabama tag on a car in our state! Then I get to thinking about the 7 something mins to go and its 3 and 1, and we don’t get the first down! Playing so conservative with a lead! Please step on the Gas!!! So St. Nick, please get us a NEW OC!!!

Again, the spike was made to order. Any casual fan of the sport wanted to run down the field, get the offense set with a sense of urgency, spike the ball. Murray should have managed that because it was so obvious that if Richt hadn’t made plans prior..ignore him. It was so bad I still can’t believe how unprepared they were.

By the way, it’s a creepy thought for obsessed grown men to be fawning over 18-19 year old recruits. Perhaps those guys need another hobby.

Kamara and Nikediche both need play for Dawgs. None of this goning out a state to be traitors. We is Dawgs and own state. Got to keep dirty coaches like Saban from stealing recruits in state. Playing for Dawgs means having more Christian coaching and winning champs. You can’t spell Christ without Richts and Saban is close to Satan. We fix any players that traitoring to Dawgs and state. And time to start cutting off there manhoods when evil coaches like low life Saban and Rolling Turd assists come to steal recruiting in GA.

Yep, spiking the ball would have given one of the best defenses in the league the time necessary to get themselves lined up and ready to defend the same play we called while running down the field. You spikers need to let it go and quit being such a bunch of back seat coaches.

Tech should give an offer to Chase Alford. His brother walked on and Chase is really gathering the honors as late. I would expect him to mature into a great player and with a 4.1 gpa, the curriculum is not a problem.

Now, if you give me a second pick, it’s Tunsil (but I did read the one-only rule in the article, which said NOTHING about the stupid spike issue).

Okay, if Santa says I can’t get Adams or Tunsil, then my wish list goes in this order: 1. Adams 2 Tunsil 3 Toby Johnson 4 Crowder 5 Nikediche 6 Kamara 7 Foster. Guess you can tell I was a spoiled child at Christmas.

For Georgia, it would be a major accomplishment for one – just one – of Richt’s recruits to be able to read at higher than the usual 3rd grade level.

But it’s not likely to happen, so it will be the usual crop of drunks, woman beaters, potheads, and felons.

thankfully, most individals have a life above the decrepit sewer of big time college football where teenage kids are worshipped for physical abilities rather than intellectual potential and coaches are paid millions annually while the gladiators get nothing and our nations education stature continues to decline. it will all crash as mankind becomes more educated and aware of this societal autrocity. i feel sorrow for grown men who spend valuable moments of their limited time on earth fretting over decisions of immature teenagers. hope you find a more meaningful substance in your life

How does this happen? Arguably the best single season place kicker in NFL History is y’all’s Blair Walsh. I don’t think I heard this correctly. Someone said he has 9 field goals from over 50 yards, including a 57 yarder last Sunday. How does this happen!? Last year he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn for y’all, and as a result, WASN’T EVEN INVITED TO THE COMBINE !. “Ears” McGarity needs to inform Richt that part of his $3.5 million salary will go towards hiring the Viking’s kicking coach! Geez, how do you UGA fans stand it?

I agree w/ Destin Dawg….we need Tunsil….no lineman committed now above 300 lbs…control the line of scrimmage more…prove that Coach Will Friend can recruit this high rated type of lineman (misses on Avery Young, Antonio Richardson, Brandon Greene, Brandon Shell, etc…..my choice of OL Coach would have been Art Shell / that would have been on my Christmas wish list several years ago)…a lot of other great choices down to the wire…but only one, Laremy Tunsil!!!

I scanned the globe looking for a story comparable to Walsh’s, and all I could find was some part time tailback a few years back who was taken in the 6TH ROUND (!!) incredibly, later became a Super Bowl and NFL MVP. I thought, “No. It can’t be. There’s no way. ” Then I thought, “Wait. After all, this is UGA. Anything’s possible with this football program. Hell, they evaluated Cam Newton as a tight end!” And sure enough, when I looked up the name of this Stud, it was your very own Terrell Davis!!. Do it Dawgs! Only at UGA. Wait, what, we’re not going to spike it??? Oh, ok.

TR has no credibility.
1. He claimed Saban got a late start on recruiting Cam Newton because he thought he was a lock to UGA.
2. He would have turned down a two time All American lineman because he went to a private school.
3. He refuses to acknowledge that AJ McCarron was better than Philip Sims.
4. He is the master of 20-20 hindsight, and Monday morning quarterbacking.

Merry Christmas anyway to Tide Roll.

As far as my recruiting wish list goes, first, I hope we can hang on to the commitments we already have, second, I hope a few more slots open up, but for the right reasons (graduation, not injuries), and third, I hope we get some unexpected players like Justin Thomas last season; top-notch players no one expected but fit our program well; and quality people as well.
