WR Tramel Terry to sign with UGA or Clemson

UGA’s biggest fears may be coming true with Tramel Terry, the celebrated WR who has already de-committed and pledged to the Bulldogs twice.

Terry will decide whether he’s going to sign scholarship papers with either UGA or Clemson at 10 a.m. Friday at Goose Creek (S.C.) High School, his coach told Palmetto Sports’ Phil Kornblut.

Goose Creek coach Chuck Reedy “said Terry appears to be split between the two schools at this point,” according to the website. Reedy is a former Clemson assistant.

It’s just the latest in a series of twists and turns with Terry’s wild recruiting ride.

There will likely be a ton of more drama next week.

UGA coach Mark Richt will make an in-home visit with Terry on Wednesday night, according to Palmetto Sports.

And guess who gets the last face-to-face meeting? Clemson coach Dabo Swinney will sit down with Terry on Thursday night.

After Terry committed to UGA for a second time last March, it appeared that the drama was over. However, last month, Terry decided to go ahead and take an official visit to Clemson. He played it down before the trip, making it out as if he was mostly doing it just because he will only go through the recruiting process once in his life.

However, Terry apparently ended up liking Clemson much more than he thought he would. So much so that Terry has declined requests for media interviews since his Clemson trip.

Most of Terry’s recent recruiting updates have been provided by himself on Twitter. He said that UGA assistant John Lilly visited his school on Friday, the day before the SEC Championship game.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Terry is an early high school graduate and will enroll at a four-year college in January.

ANOTHER UGA COMMIT? One of UGA’s top remaining targets, former Sandy Creek High School WR Ja’Quay Williams, is taking an official visit to South Carolina this weekend and told the AJC he will make his college decision on Sunday. UGA is rumored to be the frontrunner for Williams, who is attending prep school and plans to enroll at a four-year college in January. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder originally signed with Auburn over UGA last year but fell short of NCAA entrance requirements. Williams, who de-committed from Auburn last Sunday, has also taken official visits to UGA and Texas A&M over the last few weeks. He was the state’s No. 1 prospect at WR last year and is considered better than senior coming out this year.

NKEMDICHE LIKES UGA: Ole Miss linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche told reporters after the Mississippi State game that his baby brother would commit “in two weeks” – and did not specifically name Ole Miss (but that’s what many are assuming he meant). When asked about the statement this week, Robert Nkemdiche told CBS Sports, “Nothing is going on with that. He was just happy … just no comment on that.” Robert also said he is considering Ole Miss, LSU and Clemson and “I like Georgia – they’re still in it.”

UPDATE: On Sunday night, Tramel Terry confirmed that he is sticking with UGA.

I never thought I would say this but Tramel’s drama makes Nkemdiche look boring.

I’m not sure we need Terry and all of his drama in Athens

It is obvious that this kid has a follower personality, not a leader. Get a good enough salesman around a follower and you can talk him into anything. Richt is the type of coach who will not pressure you to come to Georgia where Swinney is going to give you his best hustler speech.
If Terry has that much trouble picking between Georgia , SEC power team and Clemson who will be in the top 4 every year in the ACC but would be in the bottom tier in the SEC , then maybe the SEC is too competitive for him. My point is if someone said to me, I am going to give you a new car, you can chose between an Honda Accord and a Porsche, which do you want? Wouldn’t the answer be a no brainier. If Terry needs to think about how much better being on a top team in the SEC is compared to a top team in the ACC , then he doesn’t need to go to Georgia.

You guys act like you know him. He’s a very intelligent, respectful kid who is weighing the pressures of staying in-state vs. attending the place that has obviously captured his heart. Give him a break. UGA would be fortunate to get him. Phenomenal athlete.

hahahahaha. I can tell you from the Nkemdiche drama that I feel for you dawgs. The kid is making, probably, the biggest decision of his young life. That’s difficult for anyone, to figure out what is the best fit for the rest of your life. T.T. come on to Clemson. The fact of the matter is that these guys are going to boot Richt in the matter of a few months for something – he is always on the hot seat. We put kids in the NFL, that is all that most kids care about, anyway. One way or another, next year, we will see who is laughing.

These kids act like they are the only thing going on in the world…committing and de-committing. I’m to the point with it that if they commit and then talk about other schools in the running then I’d say “not only should they be in the running, but you’d better start running towards them fast because your no longer needed”…we need kids that want to be at UGA for the right reasons. Either get on the train or get off!!!

Texas A&M beat Bama with exactly ZERO SEC recruits, but somehow they are now in the mighty SEC and they got bigger and faster. It’s a TV Hype machine, all built for money and ratings. I was in the real Death Valley when Clemson beat UGA with Herschel, the best running back EVER in College Football and I was there when we beat Texas A&M. You guys are scared to death because you see Clemson climbing back into the national spotlight. I don’t blame you, be afraid of what we are building, that three letter LOGO isn’t going to help you next year and when we beat you all up and down the field, you will start the fire Richt garbage because just like the Vince Dooley days, you guys are poor sports, win or lose. Get used to losing to your ACC neighbors, it’s about to become SOP….Standard Operating Procedure! TT is a Tiger, get over it.

He may want to think twice about Clempson. Word in coaching circles is OC Chad Morris will leave for a HC job, could be NC State, if so he takes at least two Assts. He’s looking to get out of Clempson as soon as possible.

Terry is an outstanding talent and obviously a fine student seeing as how he is graduating early. Which brings up academics. The University of Georgia is more highly regarded than Clemson by various rating services.

there needs to be some kind of moderation here. These comments are a total joke. they are obviously mostly rivals fans posing as uga fans trying to make us look bad to recruits. does any actual UGA fan actually think all of these totally irrational comments are from uga fans???? really???

it has been reported elsewhere that tramel will announce he is staying with uga. there is nothing to worry about here. just recruiting sites needing to sell suscriptions, anda jc needing to sell advertising spots.

Your name is extremely fitting. You have no idea what you are talking about, and most likely are a tech. fan. Perhaps there is a blog out there dealing, with idiots that make statements without supporting any factual evidence.
As for Terry and NKE. they are both going to take the best offer in their minds and go with it. They have to live with it, and UGA can live with as well. You hate to see the coaches stuck trying to put a team of recruits together, when some of these guys, have trouble sticking by decisions and appear about as fickle as a girl waiting for a prom. invite, but that is college recruiting so live with it.
UGA may have lost the game in the SECCG, but I would bet, some of these recruits, still sitting on the fence, were impressed with the team, and I feel a few of them will be persuaded now, to want to be a part of the team. If they chose another team, good luck to them, but UGA and any other team losing out on them will move on. No one kid, recruited is going to make or break a recruiting class or a team, unless you are a team like Tech. where there are so many glaring needs and can not draw in the top talent, due to a lot of circumstances.

Hiding behind a Confernece Logo – South Carolina went into “DEATH” Valley – and beat you – with their backup QB and Backup RB’s – FSU is mauled by Florida in their own stadium, then FSU struggles to put away GT – who UGA beat like a rented mule the week before. Clemson and FSU both have good teams and good atheletes – but please – they aren’t anywhere near the top of the SEC.
