Could UGA get a commitment for the second day in a row on Wednesday?
Jonathan Rumph, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound wide receiver from Mississippi’s Holmes junior college, will announce on Wednesday between Mississippi State, UGA, Texas Tech and Florida, according to multiple media reports.
If Rumph picks UGA, it would be commitment No. 29 for the Bulldogs for 2013.
On Tuesday, UGA landed one of the biggest fish in its entire class when DB Brendan Langley switched his commitment from South Carolina to the Bulldogs. Some consider Langley to be the state’s No. 1 prospect at cornerback; and the 6-1 senior from Kell High School has the height that UGA defensive coordinator Todd Grantham covets at cornerback.
What about Rumph? He’s from near Columbia, S.C., and attended Brookland-Cayce High School. At Holmes, Rumph is arguably the team’s best player, hauling in 45 passes for 569 yards and 3 touchdowns.
In an interview with Scout.com’s Steve Robertson, Rumph said only his mother and uncle know his college destination. “My mom is happy with my decision,” he said. “Most of all, she is just happy I am going to be in school.”
