Guess what UGA DB commit Tray Matthews said on Twitter?

Could UGA add another commitment on Tuesday?

That is a possibility after UGA DB commit Tray Matthews put this on Twitter on late Monday night:

“Another Uga commit tomorrow! 2k13 we here !!”

Now it may or may not happen, but when Matthews puts something like that on Twitter, you have to consider the possibility.

Who will be commit No. 28 for UGA? And could it happen today, as predicted by Tray Matthews? (AP)

Who will be commit No. 28 for UGA? And could it happen today, as predicted by Tray Matthews? (AP)

After all, Matthews has been committed to UGA for more than a year and is pretty plugged in with the Bulldogs coaches with what’s going on in the recruiting world. Matthews, who is a senior safety at Newnan High School, also is pretty popular among other recruits and communicates with them on a regular basis, particularly those on the defensive side.

Perhaps most importantly, Matthews has made comments like this before on Twitter about impending UGA commitments – and he turned out to be correct a few times. To follow Tray on Twitter (and see if he gives any more hints), please CLICK HERE.

So which prospect might Tray Matthews be talking about? Just about every UGA fan would dream it would be Reuben Foster, the 4-star linebacker who is committed to Auburn but still flirting some with UGA and is best buddies with Matthews.

Then there’s Brendan Langley, the 4-star DB from Kell High School who is committed to South Carolina. Langley is also flirting with UGA, and has attended recent games with the Bulldogs. He confirmed to the AJC on Monday night that he will take official visits to both South Carolina and UGA, although he hasn’t set dates for them.

Then there’s a new name on the radar, safety Kennar Johnson of Mississippi’s Gulf Coast junior college. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder is scheduled to take an official visit to UGA this weekend, and told UGASports.com’s Jake Rowe that he could commit right after the trip. His top three is South Florida, Ole Miss and UGA.

Finally, Jonathan Rumph, a 6-foot-5 WR from Mississippi’s Holmes junior college, told 247sports.com’s Rusty Mansell that he “may” decide this week. Rumph claims offers from UGA, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas Tech, among others.

Or maybe no one commits on Tuesday? What do you think? And who could it be?

THIS AND THAT: Auburn TE commit AJ Jackson of Lovejoy High School will take an unofficial visit to Florida State this weekend … Auburn LB commit Trey Johnson of Central Gwinnett High School will take an official visit to Ohio State this weekend. Urban Meyer stopped by Johnson’s school last week … Milton High School offensive lineman Cory Helms is committed to Wake Forest and will take his official visit there on Jan. 18. Helms said he is trying to convince Wake Forest to also sign his Milton teammate, WR Malik Mitchell, who had a breakout senior season … Alpharetta High School offensive lineman D’Von Isaac was offered by Fresno State, according to an assistant.

DE Carl Lawson is ranked by ESPN as the nation's No. 2 overall college prospect (AJC)

DE Carl Lawson is ranked by ESPN as the nation's No. 2 overall college prospect (AJC)

AROUND THE SOUTHEAST: Former Clemson DE commitment Elijah Daniel of Avon, Ind., told Palmetto Sports on Monday night that he was contacted by Clemson assistant Brent Venables earlier in the day to let him know he no longer had an offer from the Tigers. “They really didn’t feel like I should take other visits,” Daniel told the website. “It’s disappointing but they had to do what they had to do.” Daniel had taken official visits to Marshall and Mississippi State, and may go to Ole Miss this weekend … Milton High School DE Carl Lawson, who is committed to Auburn and ranked as the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect by ESPN, hasn’t decided whether or not he will take official visits to other schools. However, Lawson did tell the AJC he may check out some games this weekend on unofficial visits. He could go see Clemson, which recently contacted Lawson after another DE, Robert Nkemdiche, de-committed from the Tigers … UGA WR commit Tramel Terry plays for Goose Creek High School, which was banned from the South Carolina state playoffs for using an ineligible player on Monday. There’s a lot more to the story than appears, and you can read about it by CLICKING HERE. Goose Creek was favored to repeat as state champions.

i live in charleston and the whole goose creek thing is crazy. this was a special needs player that has only played 17 snaps all year and was not a factor in wins. this would be his 4th year playing ball, but they ruled against them anyway. what a messed up system these kids are caught up in smh….

Glad to see a story other than the big kid from Grayson. Niecham or something like that. We need to let that go. We’ll be fine with him at Ole Miss or where ever. Let’s focus on those who are coming or close to coming.

I wish the dawns would give RB/LB Derrick Craine of Union Grove high school a look, this kid is cut from the “old school” style of football. He is big and strong with above average speed and runs with a lot of determination.

Sowegadawg,

“I wish the dawns would give RB/LB Derrick Craine of Union Grove high school a look”

Why? I’ve never even heard of the kid. We don’t go after kids that don’t even have a profile on Rivals and other recruiting sites. He must not be that good man. We’re after top talent. We only have so many scholarships to go around. He can always try and walk-on. Thanks for the suggestion though.

-Who has the weakest schedule in the SEC? UGA
-Which team did not win a single tough game on another team’s turf? UGA
-Which SEC East team had favorable scheduling that resulted in the them having the SEC East fall into their lap (not EARNED)? UGA
-What team got stepped on by SCAR in front of the Nation? UGA
-Final question, who will get embarrassed (AGAIN) in the SEC Championship? UGA

Just glad that Richt will be back again next year.

AskAnyone, we are glad Richt is back in Athens next year too. 10-1 #3 in the nation, how bout ‘em dawgs??? BTW, Alabama had the easier schedule than Ga. SEC East has 3 teams in top 10 and Bama missed all three.

IF Langley flips, it will be after the start of the dead period where he can just switch and then enroll early. He won’t have to listen to the Carolina fans…

Hey AskAnyone Loser,

He’s clearly a Tech fan. A bitter, delusional, crybaby. The fact is when it’s all over we will have played every single quality team in the conference other than LSU and Texas A&M. Their not even in our division. We’re not supposed to play them. We play Auburn every year. They won the NC 2 years ago. When GA was working out their schedule they didn’t plan on Auburn having it’s worst season in 60 years.

If we backed in then so did Alabama. They havn’t played any of the 3 best teams in the SEC East. Florida and SC are both ranked higher than Texas A&M and Florida is ranked higher than LSU. By the current ramnkings our schedule was actually harder than theres.

This is typical geek behavior.

Oh, btw, on RUEBEN FOSTER, he will not flip as long as the big Chiz is still HC on the plains, only shot GA and LSU have is if he is fired. Then, most likely, it is between those two.

Thing is, he should really look HARD at Colorado schools and Washington schools. He would fit in perfectly at any school in those states, read into that what you will….sad, but true.

After Bummer runs up the score on Auburn saturday Chizik will be given his PINK SLIP. No bowl game for the 1st time since when? He’s is on the way out the door. It’s what have you done for me right now that counts these days. I believe that Auburn will make a move for Miss State’s head coach soon.

Who has an overall winning record against only 3 teams in FBS ?
Who is barely above .500 in winning precentage since they started playing football ?
Who has never won a championship of any kind other than a 1969 ACC championship ?
Who never will win any kind of championship ?
Who has a coach so obssessed with beating UGA that they choke in other games ?
Yep, you guessed it…. south carolina.

I once was in a restaurant in Key West, FL that had a sign up stating “FREE BEER TOMORROW”
so I returned the next day… just to be informed by the waiter, while pointing to the sign, NO that’s tomorrow!

Most UGA 2013 ships have already been promised to recruits and are accounted for, those are and the percentage of commitment – Tunsil = 90%, Kamara = 85%, Adams= 90%, Langley = 95%, Johnson = 75%, Crowder = 65%, Williams = 50%, Foster = 30% leaving only one ship left for the following recruits WR Jonathon Rumph, CB Mackensie Alexander, or CB Riyahd Jones (on the bubble, not offered but will commit once offered).

“One Game” “One Score Board” “Dawgs Time”

“BELIEVE” in the “G”

Like stated in above post Jonathon Rumph was supposed to announce sometime this week.

Askanyone, want some cheese with that whine? But since you are asking questions, how about these facts.

LSU, your opponent needed a late punt return for aTD at home to beat OM, our opponent at home
Arkansaw wasn’t alot better than Auburn
You were blew out by UF, which we beat
We are playing in the SEC championship game, you are not.
We are ranked number 3, you are not top 10

While you did beat us, you really haven’t looked very good against anyone else, took a very favorable no call on an obvious pass interferene against Vandy for you to secure the win, a great play to stop UT from driving for the winning TD. So, tell me, just who has SC beat besides us, 1 quality win for you, that makes you feel SC should be in the championship game, does your 1 win at home trump our big win over number 2 team in the country? Does it overcome your TWO losses and put you ahead of two 1 loss teams? Answer, not anywhere in the NCAA, SC is third in the division, and are a non factor, you had zero influence on the conference standing. But what I would really like to happen is for the ACC commisioneer and SEC commisioneer get together and swap SC for CU, both are in the wrong conference.

I agree kingdaddy – Tunsil & Crowder will improve our ol tremendously, however, I believe Montravious Adam will have the bigest impact because of his ability to penetrate. How long has it been since the dawgs had a DT with the ability to move instantly on the snap by defeating the blocker and delivering devastating blows in opponents backfield? 2000? His presence is contagious, and his message of resilience and strength I believe will be felt for a long time.

I been saying all along,”One win at a time. Just win, and the recruiting will take care of itself.” Here we are, right before a rich harvest. We stand on the edge of a remarkable year. Take care of business Saturday. All the games were big this year, every one. That’s why we didn’t take them for granted. Now, the next three games will define our season. Stay focused, stay sharp and keep our eye on the goal. Play 60 minutes like your lives depended upon it and don’t let up. This is the year of the Dawg…
