OLB William Tuider commits to Navy over Cincy and FIU

Mountain View High School linebacker William Tuider has committed to Navy.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder picked Navy over football scholarship from Cincinnati and Florida International. He’s the first FBS (formerly NCAA Div. I) commitment out of Mountain View.

“William has been a three-year starter for us and consistently one of our best football players,” Mountain View coach Doug Giacone said. “William works hard in every facet of his life, and I am extremely happy that he is going to have a chance to earn a quality education and play Div. I football at the United States Naval Academy.

“We are extremely proud of William’s accomplishments and believe he has truly earned the distinction of becoming the first Div. I football commitment in our school’s brief history.”

Tuider finished the season with 65 tackles, 6 tackles for losses, 3 interceptions, 6 pass breakups and 5 QB hurries.

I saw a study the other day that says USNA graduates are in the top 5 for salary. Young Mr. Tuider gets to play football, get a fantastic education, and serve his country. Great opportunity!
