Decision Day! Will RB AJ Turman pick UGA, Tennessee, Auburn, FSU or Miami?

UGA will try its luck with another Florida running back on Tuesday evening.

A.J. Turman, a 6-foot, 200-pounder from Orlando’s Boone High School, will announce between UGA, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State and Miami shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

After watching 5-star Derrick Henry slip away, UGA could finally get a commitment at RB on Tuesday (AP)

After watching 5-star Derrick Henry slip away, UGA could finally get a commitment at RB on Tuesday (AP)

If Turman picks UGA – and the signs are good – then he would be only RB commit for the Bulldogs’ 2013 recruiting class. UGA had a yearlong commitment from Florida’s No. 1 running back, 5-star Derrick Henry, who later backed off his pledge and then revealed his intentions to sign with rival Alabama.

How good is Turman? Here are his rankings:

  • 4-star and No. nation’s 18 RB by Rivals
  • 4-star and No. 24 RB by ESPN
  • 3-star and No. 36 RB by Scout
  • 4-star and No. 13 RB by 247sports

How good are UGA’s chances of landing Turman? Very good. Turman decided to make his college choice after returning from a four-day unofficial visit to UGA for the Ole Miss game, according to the Orlando Sentinel. He has not taken any official visits, and said he’s not sure if he will take any.

“I feel very strongly that coming off a visit to Georgia, where he stayed for four days with his parents, and then being ready to make his decision shortly after that — I like Georgia’s chances,” DawgNation’s Kipp Adams said.

“I think Florida State is focused on Alex Collins. I think the coaching situations at Auburn and Tennessee would favor Georgia as well. I think Georgia gets their first running back on Tuesday. And then they can focus on Alvin Kamara, a guy that can play running back and slot in college.”

UGA will likely sign two running backs in this class, with Kamara of Norcross High School being the other primary target. If Kamara (who has Alabama and UGA as co-leaders) goes elsewhere, the Bulldogs may let WR commit Tramel Terry of Goose Creek, S.C., play some at RB or go after a secondary target.

Back to Turman: As a senior at Boone, he rushed for 1,245 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Derrick Henry visited Alabama for its heartbreaking loss to Texax A&M and hung out most of the time with UGA’s top OL target, Laremy Tunsil of Lake City, Fla., per 247sports. Henry has made it a priority to convince Tunsil to go with him to Alabama.

Looks like a STUD. Now all you need is Anthony Jennings at Quarterback running the read option with this kid Turman, and off you go. But noooo. We’re going with the Wing -T kid from Camden. We’re set. Who needs Jennings. Let him go to LSU. For that matter, who needs Joshua Dobbs, Jonathan McCrary, Deshaun Watson, or Nick Marshall. Marshall’s a defensive back anyway. Geez, what a program. 32 hilarious years. I know it’s difficult for Richt and Booboo to look too far ahead, but they do realize that LSU, with what will be by then, their freshman phenom, Anthony Jennings, roll back on Uga’s schedule next year. And they do realize, don’t they, that you lose your entire defense, right? Hell, sign Jennings to prevent him from kicking your butt next year. Bobo is killing you.32 years, and the talent that can end the drought sitting at you doorstep. and you won’t take it. Just take it That’s all you have to do, and you refuse it. Un friggin believable. But that’s UGA. That’s the “Georgia Way.” Has been and always will be. Ad Nauseum. Ad infinitum.

I bet the coaches at Marietta (Jennings), Alpharetta (Dobbs), Cedar Grove (McCrary), Gainesville (Watson), and Wilcox County (Marshall) look at each other and think: What the hell are Richt and boboo doing. What in the world are they thinking? Can’t they see? Can’t they evaluate? Do they have a brain? These are the greatest QB(s) we’ve ever had the privilege of coaching. One of their fathers, Greg McCrary played for the Falcons, and the other, Willie Jennings, played for UGA (!),and later, the Seattle Seahawks. So the bloodlines are there. Then these coaches think a little further , a little deeoperand they realize what it really is. What it must be that’s preventing Richt and booboo from going after these kids. What goes on up there in Athens that dictates moving Nick Marshall to defensive back and “Evaluating” Cam Newton as a tight end. And in unison, they puke. Do it Richt Do it booboo and do it Dawgs. 32 years. And you deserve every one of them.

It is incredible how much TideTroll knows about Georgia and their roster. He twists and frames thing in his inimitable trollling way, but you have to feel sorry for the guy. He must be some sort of shut-in to have the time to memorize all the minutiae about a team he hates. Sex addicts probably don’t spend as much time on pornography as the TideTroller spends on UGA football. Really, really sad.

Tide TRoll sounds like someone very close to Jennings. They cannot get over the fact he isn’t better than Brice Ramsey so they story bomb every AJC article hoping for the UGA offer. Bobo doesn’t read the blogs looking for subpar talent.

Tide Roll is obviously blind to the fact that the vast majority of UGA’s football players are indeed Black men. How does he explain that? How does he explain already having a Black QB in Christian LeMay? What about DJ Shockley? Is he aware that CMR is the guy who found and developed Charlie Ward too? You know, you try to be nice to inbreds and nerd herders and they try to walk all over you. The good news is that thanks to Obamacare, people like them can get treatment and meds for their delusions, paranoia and inferiority complexes. Poor aptitude, well, that’s on them.

It won’t be Alabama they already have 3 of the Top 10 RB’s in the Country Committed. Including Derek Henry who is about to break the All Time High School Rushing Record set 57 Year ago… So why Bama is even mention is a suprise they don’t have a scholarship offer for player…

Let me get this straight. I’m a 6′9″ mega prep star playing in Atlanta. I’m being recruited by Coach K at Duke and Roy Williams at Carolina and Jimmy Fox at UGA ( Oh, it’s John Fox, sorry) or is it? I can go play in front of 20,000 people on National TV twice a week with 4 or 5 other studs to get to the Dance…..or I can go to Athens and play in front of 7,000 between cow and Rodeo shows in a 40 year old building…….Hum???? Let me get back to you.

Today’s lesson will review things you should already know, but you have not been doing your homework. Once again, you came on this board with nothing new to say, and as a result are being destroyed by posters using logical reasoning.

1. Nick Marshall chose to be recruited as a DB to enhance possible basketball career also.
2. Nick Marshall was dismissed from the team.
3. Unless Mettenberger is injured, Anthony Jennings is not going to be playing against UGA.
4. Willie Jennings, realized UGA was only taking one QB this year, and is not bitter, unlike you.
5. That “Wing T kid from Camden” is the highest rated senior QB in the state.
6. Notice that you did not mention Bama’s two QB commits for 2013. Care to tell this board if you think they are better than Jennings, Dobbs, and McCrary? Nope, that would blow your cover as a “Bama fan.” Just as you never had anything good to say about AJ McCarron.

Take some friendly advice. Stay off the board unless you wish to become the subject of ridicule by more knowledgeable posters and readers.

TideRoll the AJC Troll,

You’re obviously not a Bama fan. Clearly a Tech fan hiding behind a successful school. Like Tide Roll’sd Tutor said… Nick Marshall chose to play DB at UGA over QB at another school like Tech. PJ offered him at QB and told him he would make him a Heisman winner. Marshall knew DB was his best ticket to the NFL. Kids do it all the time. If you were really a Tide fan then you would have seen this tactic employed in your own secondary. Ever heard of Javier Arenas? Where is he now? Oh yeah he was a dominate HS QB.

How is Bobo killing us? We’re averaging more yds than any in UGA history. OIur QB leads the SEC in Passer efficiency. Who coaches him BTW? We’re #1 in the country in yds/play. That’s MORE THAN OREGON! It’s the most explosive offense in UGA history and you think he’s killing us. We’re gonna kick the sh*t out of Tech AGAIN. Get ready Dbag.

Tide Roll; I encourage you to leave the skill positions out of your UGA arguments…The only valid arguments you make (in previouse posts) is about the quality linemen that UGA misses..I would like to see Laremy Tunsil, JP Vonashek, Brandon Kublanow and Trenton Brown at the top of the list for UGA come February.

November 13th, 2012

A J Turman is all Dawg and exactly what UGA needs (players with passion who want to strap on the “G”) 2nd player to commit from the Orlando FL area along with LB commit Ryne Rankin whose dad and granddad are football coaches. (Ryne’s football knowledge runs deep)

Montravius Adams striking up a friendship with UGA 2013 OL commit Brandon Kublanow spending the night at Kubs house… planning on attending Kubs Walton HS playoff game this Friday night! All signs point to Adams strapping on the “G”!

Alvin Kamara has a guaranteed UGA scholarship just waiting for him to discover that he can play the same football in Athens as he could 3,000 miles away in Eugene Oregon!

Thanks to D Henry for escorting Laremy Tunsil to experience first hand the tragedy in Tuscaloosa this past weekend, Bama had to practice on Sunday (so much for 20 hour a week rule) for losing to a mid-level Big 12 team, lead by a true freshman QB “Johnny Football”… UGA still leads for Tunsil!

UGA is still in favor with OG Tyrone Crowder although his Guardian’s son plays for Clemson.

There is also some truth to the rumor of Rueben Foster… when (not if) Auburn fires the present coaching staff, Foster will be looking for a tatoo removal artist… someone who could slide a big red G between the U & the A, turn the blue into black!

“Keep the Faith”

“Stick with Richt”

“BELIEVE” in the “G”

Thats a big body running a 4.46 which is flying for a high school kid above 185. most kids at the high school level have not been taught proper running mechanics they just use their god given ability. once he gets on a college campus and in the strength and conditioning program you looking at a kid that is 6ft 225 running in the low 4.4s you do not want any thing to do with that if your on defense. kind of reminds me of gurley not as fast though. gurley and marshall are both very special athletes.
