Peach County High School’s Demarcus Robinson is considered by some recruiting analysts to be the state’s best prospect at wide receiver.
Robinson pledged to Clemson over the summer, but now considers himself to be a “soft commit.” He wants to visit both Florida and Notre Dame.
Here’s what Robinson, an AJC Super 11 selection, had to say about the recruiting process:

It’s time the NCAA did something about this commitment crap. Either sign early or keep you mouth shut. You either stand by your decision or wait. It’s called taking responsibility for you actions.

Hold on Demarcus: Jon Gruden about to be announced at Tennessee. Nick Saban now has a major competitor! Knoxville is going nuts right now!

The NCAA needs to do something about al of these top recruits getting all of the incoming money for these schools but are living poor in the dorms…..or kids dont have proper clothing unless its football season but the school is receiving over the top ticket sales because a player is at their school…….either way this was a VERBAL comit nothing more and should have been kept under wraps until they had something on paper. any way IT IS WHAT IT IS..Demarcus will thrive wherever he goes.

First && foremost he can go where he pleases to go…. Be mindful that it is his decision && he will choose what’s best for him!!! Don’t talk trash & be judgmental…

Demarcus has the right to change his mind if he wants to. What if Clemson decides to offer their scholarship to someone instead of Demarcus? Nobody thinks about that…this is an 18 year old kid. Trust me, they change their minds about many things! My advice to Demarcus, enjoy the process and make the decision as to what program most benefits you and your goals. If you change your mind, Clemson will quickly move on and find somebody else…they always do. Keep up the hard work!!!

deebow, obviously you are a Clemson fan and could care less about what is best for these kids. This is the real world where both recruits and colleges change their minds. So what if Robinson changes his mind, Clemson will move on to the next recruit and care nothing about it. It’s business for the colleges, plan and simple.

deebow, I’m glad you agree because regardless if we like it or not, it’s true. Hopefully my daughter will go through this process shortly, and I am fully prepared to hear everything from college coaches that are more interested in their program than in my daughter’s goals and desires. But at least we know this going in.

What a stupid interview. There was not a word about “the recruiting process”, though that is how it was billed.

He and other recruits saw the Clem-sun fans booing the president last week…he won`t be the only one switching…it`s being discussed…

Hey Romelus, do you also think the recruits saw Clemson’s QB throw for over 400 yards in front of NFL scouts on Thursday? Reports say CHI, CLE, DAL, DEN, HOU, MIA, NO, NYG, NYJ, PHI, SD, SEA & TEN were all in attendance to watch the air show…
Demarcus will absolutely shine in Morris’ pass-heavy scheme.

These people waiting on Gruden are stupid. Why the heck would he leave a job he makes millions for. Does not have to recruit or make game plans. Only has to watch some film, talk to coaches and players and at draft time run his Gruden camp. If he does leave that cush job he is a moron, do you want a moron as your head coach?
You heard it here first, Gruden is not coming back to coaching.

drobfan: I doubt after your comment to deebow in which you made jest of the U.S. Army you are still around. I and every honorable American Citizen are highly offended by your remark. Playing college football is no comparison at all to serving your country iin the U.S. Armed Forces. What a thoughtless way to respond on a football blog.

Dooley going to get fired ( as he should) and Jon Gruden on the way to Rocky Top. Nick Saban now has some MAJOR competition!
