Brendan Langley rumors: Will South Carolina DB commit still visit UGA?

There have been a lot of rumors flying around about Brendan Langley, who is considered  by some to be the state’s No. 1 prospect at defensive back.

Langley committed to South Carolina this past summer, but has been flirting heavily with UGA, attending a pair of recent home games with the Bulldogs. UGA appeals to Langley because it will allow him to play both football and basketball.

However some things have changed in recent days.

  • Will Langley still take an official visit to UGA?
  • Why did he change this weekend’s visit to South Carolina from an official to an unofficial? Is that good news for UGA?
  • And what other school is quietly emerging with Langley?

He talks about that and more in the video above.

Why would any kid want to go play for Spurrier who seems more interested in trying to run the State Newspaper rather than running his football team? What a joke of a coach and big crybaby. I’ve lost all respect for SOS. Is he going to boycott the press conference after the game … after the Gamecocks get fried? Boo hoo.

This is a good kid. Hated to see him announce for USCjr but is one of the few who I’ll pull for even if he doesn’t flip to UGA. Always courteous and respectful toward the Dawgs during every interview. Would love to see him realize Athens is where he wants to be.

It seems so many recruits are liking our program and are going to take more official visits.. seems to me we are running out of scholarships for this class.

Spud is gonna get his visor dirty saturday nite……. get physical with ‘em Dawgs. Put three helmets on Lattimore at the line of scrimmage . Put a spy on Shaw and give him some hard shots early. Knock that ball lose and get the turnovers. Get field position early and keep the Game Crocks bottled up all night. Five WR formation can’t be covered by S.C. They don’t have the DBs. Stay aggressive from quarter #1 to the last second of the game. Don’t get conservative on offense when you get ahead and don’t take a knee at the end of the game. Stick it to Spud.

Concentrate and use your few remaining scholarships on those that want to go to UGA. Langley has never shown any real interest and has never been a Dawg fan. Langley committed to the enemy – don’t waste any more time on him.

Praying for Michael Bennett’s full recovery. Tough break for true Dawg and a great player. You are going to be in the NFL some day. Thanks for your loyalty to the Dawgs.

@Brendan,
Please make a decision soon to join UGa…….and then help recruit other key prospects. You can’t go wrong playing for your “home state” team. Please remember, delaying on your decision is costing you and your future team. By committing now, UGa can focus on other great players who you will call “teammates” in just a few months. Good luck Brendan and I hope you stay in Georgia.

That’s right, why no pt 15 helmets on Lattimore, why not lock the gamecocks players dressing room so they cant come out to the field, why not move the stadium so the SC players will get lost, why not cause a flat tire on the old ball coaches car so he doesnt show up????

Really, five wide cant by covered by SC??? Hoss, I’ve forgotten more about SC football than you’ll ever know, and by the way, happy hour doesnt start at nine a.m. on a Friday.

“Spurrier the Newspaper Publisher” is up at 1:58 in the Am writing about Steve Spurrier. “Mom More meatloaf!!!!! MOM!” Go see if Bradley is available for a reacharound. SC is loaded. Will be whether he goes there or not. He might be scared he can’t crack the line up like the 4 star from NJ who’s already heading home. They sent Gilmore to the first round and he wasn’t even that good. If the kid can play and he knows what’s good for him that Lorenzo Ward defense is fun in gun defense style!

Hey, if he doesn’t want to be a Georgia Bulldog, then let him go to South Carolina. If he doesn’t make it in the pros, maybe some folks in South Carolina will find a job for him. But don’t come back to Georgia.

At least we can put all the “come to Georgia, we’re so much better” comments to rest. Georgia laid such an egg that I’d be surprised if the Dawgs don’t have five more de-commitments over the next two weeks. After Saturday, if Brendan commits to Georgia it likely means he’s been promised something (hoops p.t.) which is total manure. If he wants to be like Sanders Cumming – i..e, all hype and no on the field talent – however, then he should play for Georgia. Hopefully, he’s reading all the blogs and sites where Georgia fans are ripping the coaches. Good one, pups.

Until UGA’s football program will commit to going after a QB like ANTHONY JENNINGS and OFFENSIVE LINEMEN like SHAMIRE DEVINE, JEREMI HALL, OCTAVIUS JACKSON, JOSHUA OUTLAW, DEVONTE SEYMOUR, AND DELANDO CROOKS, it will just be more of the same. not after yesterdays debackle he won’t. as much as ga needs DB’s he’ll go w/a winner instead of delearning his position under the crap coaches they have at GA. Dawgs DB’s and entire secondary looked pitiful allowing SC receivers to blow by them for long TD’s and gains. If he’s smart he’ll stay w/spurrier who’ll coach him up unlike they do at GA.

@Spurrier the Newspaper publisher – if you knew the whole story – Ron Morris compared Steve Spurrier to Sandusky and Penn State and questioned his moral integrity which is uncalled for. What you should be asking is “Why would a recruit want to come to Georgia when “fans” vandalize players home after a loss?” Get over yourselves. Take up your loss and move on.

Hey in the know? You obviously have never seen any interviews with USC players. You also obviously missed the 12 hour informercial on USC’s greatness, also known as “Gameday” and “Gamecocks 35, UGA 7.” Brendan knows he will excel at USC and continue the tradition of great DBs.

laughing at “intheknow’s” grammatical fail in his snarky little attack (”In the interviews I’ve seen with your players after the game shows me …:). Did you learn to write like that at Georgia? So did we get any interviews from Rambo, Ogletree, or Highsaiah Crowell? Talk about your dumb asses. at least our dumb asses can play football. 35-7, and the 7 was a gimme late in the game against the SC scrubs. UGA’s mighty offense had 144 yards before gaining 75 yds on the last drive behind Malcolm. (and kudos to him for not quitting like the rest of your mutts).

and if anyone EVER comes on this site again to tout Aaron Murray – they need to have their head examined. he couldn’t even complete the hitch passes! what a complete shellacking of the #5 team in the nation. COMPLETE DOMINATION. Looks like the torch has been passed in the SEC East….
