Tramel Terry: UGA WR commit to visit … Clemson this weekend

Should UGA fans be worried that one of the team’s top commitments on offense, WR Tramel Terry, plans to take an official visit to Clemson this weekend?

“I’m just going to Clemson; that’s all I can say about that,” Terry said. “I’m 100 percent going to sign with Georgia. With Clemson, I want to take my official visits. I would take all of them, if I had time.”

Terry is a 6-foot, 190-pounder from Goose Creek High School, and considered by some to be the top prospect out of South Carolina this year. He committed to UGA two summers ago, reopened his recruiting a few months later to consider Clemson and South Carolina, and then pledged to the Bulldogs for a second time last March.

“Clemson really wants me, they’ve been recruiting me hard since the beginning, and I like that they stay in touch with me,” Terry said. “They’ve always been by my side. They’re cool.”

What would Clemson have to do to change his mind about UGA? “I don’t know. I mean, I’m committed to Georgia.”

Terry won’t be taking an official visit to one of his other finalists, South Carolina. “They don’t want me to visit while I’m committed to Georgia. I’ve been to South Carolina plenty of times, and I understand where they are coming from. I respect that, so I’m not going to visit there.”

Should UGA be worried about Terry's OV to Clemson?

If Terry wasn’t playing for a team trying to repeat as state champions, and if he wasn’t graduating in December from Goose Creek, he said he would try to take more official visits. Right now, he only has time to check out UGA and Clemson. No other trips are planned.

What’s the latest with UGA? Terry made an unofficial visit with the Bulldogs for the win over Tennessee and “had a great time.” He got to hang out with Malcolm Mitchell and Jarvis Jones. He has become particularly close with Mitchell, and the two talk at least once per week. “He looks out for me, and I look out for him,” Terry said.

Terry may wait until December to take his official visit to UGA.

I respect that SC will not give Tramel an offical visit because he is committed. This makes Clemson hypocrites. Clemson has a policy that if a recruit commits to them and visits another school, they pull the offer…..except the #1 recruit in the nation.

Oh, and why is Dabo’s arrest not all over the AJC? It’s funny. Dabo and the mayor of Pickins got an officer fired. AJC should post the officer’s reply to being fired and the dash cam. Dabo refused to comply to the officer to stay in the car. Dabo’s brother was talking down to the officer. The officer was proffesonal. The man has a family with 3 kids. Recruits should see this

SC policy that a kid who is committed to another school cannot come for an official visit makes sense. Not a bad idea to make it an NCAA rule. It would bring recruiting back to where it should be. The colleges would have more control. Also, there would be a lot less of these kids who are so full of themselves. In this day and time recruiting has turned into a situation like the inmates are running the asylum.

I love all the Clemson sucks comments coming from a UGA team that has been less than stellar in recent history and has yet to play a team w/ a pulse this year. We will see where they stand on Monday. Clemson has one of the best offenses in the country and one of the best offensive minds in OC Chad Morris. Terrell would be very wise to check out the program in his home state that is about to spit out two first round WR draft picks in Morris’s system w/ Sammy Watkins and Nuke Hopkins.

Hey JDL, #1, Dabo did not get arrested, he got a speeding ticket, there is a big difference. #2, It was not his brother who was talking to the cop, but a bystander who stuck his nose into something where it did not belong. #3, the cop should have never used taxpayer provided equipment or video for legal purposes to try and humiliate someone, it’s considered conduct unbecoming of a law enforcement officer. He should have thoght about his wife and three kids before doing what he did. #4, The video is available by Google search for everyone to see, just to prove that JDL has no clue what he is talking about. JDL sounds like a middle school girl making a mountian out of a mole hill.
