Does UGA have a chance at the speedster who some rank as the state’s No. 1 prospect at RB?
Tyren Jones of Walton High School has been committed to Alabama since early last spring. Jones is the member of the AJC’s Super 11 team.
The 5-foot-8, 192-pounder has maintained that he will visit some other schools. Earlier this month, Jones told DawgNation that one of his official visits will be to UGA.
UGA is also in the sweepstakes for the other RB who is ranked by some as the state’s best – Alvin Kamara of Norcross High School. Kamara has UGA and Alabama as his co-leaders.
Ironically, both Jones and Kamara could be affected by Friday’s decision of 5-star RB Derrick Henry, who de-committed from UGA and is now deciding between Alabama, Tennessee and the Bulldogs.

I think it will real interesting to see how things pan-out tomorrow with Henry. It could be a blessing in disguise for UGa if he picks Bama because that may open the doors for UGa for the other 2 guys. I would be especially irritated if I were Tyren…..kinda like Bama doesn’t think he is good enough!!

Also, according to Rivals, Bama already has the #4 running back on board (4-star). Getting a little bit crowded at RB in Tuscaloosa!

Things in Bama are no more crowded in the backfield than in Athens.

This seems like an extraneous piece of red meat. The kid already told you he’s not going anywhere, regardless of what Henry does. If something has changed, say so. Otherwise, enough with the same drum beat.

Gonna be tough getting a high profile 5 star type to Athens the next couple of years IMO after watching these two freshman studs we have emerging . Gurley hasn’t even hit the weight room yet and already looks like a NFL player. Put 10 more pounds of rock on top of his 220 rock and let’s see what we have.

After the Tenn,SC and Fla game, Gurley will be a household name in America. 9.5 yards per carry. Are you kidding me.

Jones is BAMA all the way and it doesn’t matter what Derrick Henry or Alvin Kamara does. Tyren is a better RB and BAMA knows it.

@JB – If BAMA plays UGA and they may in the SEC Championship game, BAMA will beat UGA by 3 TDs. Those 2 “Great” UGA RB will know what it’s like to play a real DEFENSE.

Because Bama has played some great teams this year right??? Michigan. Really. Everyone in the country new they weren’t a top 10 team and it was only for the ratings. Arkansas. LOL WHo has Bama played?

No! Saban gets him if he still wants him, unless he’s afraid of depth chart at Bama.
ummm, I can play for a team with real tradition and a chance to win the National Championship every year or I can play for a team that has tradtion in the mind of it’s drunk, brain dead fans that win a National Championship every 75 years, tough choice.

Oh I didn’t see the post about schedules. How dumb do you have to be to compare UGA schedule vs Alabama? Even after the BLACKOUT, you brainiacs never stop. This is what happens when your self-esteem is tied up in a college football team full of thugs, at a below average public university.

@ Roll Tide In case you haven’t noticed, UGA has stepped up its passing game…you might stop the run, but as LSU found out, we can score on any defense when we execute. This ain’t the same team you saw last year!

Don’t want Tyren – want Kamara. Tyren is good but his OL is a big part of his success. Henry and Tyren are both going to Bummer. Where they will back up Yeldin and Tenpenny. You can only play about 3 RB’s in rotation……….. the rest will eventually transfer to somewhere like Tennessee. UGA only neds one RB in this class and it will be Kamara.

Steve Superior – closet Nerd………… get out your slide rule and subtract 1980 from 2012 and it won’t be 75 years. The only year that counts now is 2012 and UGA is going to take Bummer to the woodshed should they meet in the SEC championship. The best offense in the SEC resides in UGA.

Bummer’s OL is graduating to the NFL this year – meanwhile UGA’s entire OL will return to block for Gurley, Marshall and Malcom. Henry will regret flipping to the “gnome” when the “gnome” moves on to Texas Henry’s soph year. Spurrier is going to retire in about two years and Langley and S.C. will return to mediocrity.

I’m a little confused by the headline: Does UGA Have A Chance At Alabama RB Commit?
What do you think, Michael, does UGA have a shot?
My own thinking is that things will sort themselves out after Henry commits. Maybe this way: Henry surprises and goes to Tennessee where he knows he can get playing time as a freshman, where he can make a difference right away. Jones sticks with Alabama and Kamara goes to UGA.

Roaddwag80….Get someone to read my post to you. I was simply taking exception with your fellow leghumper for his excessive boasting in regards to Girly’s yards per carry. Bama commits:
4* Tenpenny
4* Jones
2014 5* Scarbrough
To commit to Bama very soon:
5* Henry
2014 4* Racean Thomas

Glad to see that yesterday another Georgia commit pulled it back. Word from his coach was he had been misled by the “folks in Athens”. I’d be wary if Georgia was recruiting me. They seem to be a bunch of lying liars. I say that will all due respect which they have little of since the Kelsey Griffin debacle when theypublicly embarrassed a good young man.
