RB Quinten James hoping to hear from Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech already has two running backs committed for 2013.

If they are looking for another one, Quinten James is interested.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder from North Cobb High School has around 20 offers, with Miami as his leader over Mississippi State.

But if Georgia Tech calls?

“I don’t know if they have any spots left but I’ve very interested in Georgia Tech because it’s a great school and not that far away. I already have a high school teammate playing there and I know a lot of the players. I haven’t heard much from them since they got [two commitments at running back], but I’d love to hear from them. I’m definitely interested.”

With his size and speed, James arguably has more upside potential than any other RB in Georgia. At the RisingSeniors.com all-star game last December, he impressed scouts in practices by beating 5-star linebacker Reuben Foster to the corner on several running plays.

Ironically, James may end up playing linebacker in college. Most of the schools, including Miami and Mississippi State, are recruiting James as an “athlete” who can play running back or outside linebacker.

His preference? ““I prefer playing running back, but I’ve been developing my skills at linebacker. I could see myself playing outside linebacker at the next level.”

James said he would also be receptive to interest from Missouri and Texas A&M. He will likely make his college decision in early October.

I am curious to see how his recruitment goes. He was suspended from school a couple in the spring and I just don’t see the support from the coaches in helping him get recruited compared to other top RBs in the area.

RB for us is should be like QB, get a few more than you need and move the ones who don’t shake out in the position to another one. Haven’t seen him play, but by reading this article I believe that the more teams see him the higher his stock will rise (not withstanding what Warrior Fan said is true or not).

Go Jackets!!!!

Sounds like he may be a better fit at UGA if Warrior Fan is correct.

In Tech’s offensive scheme you can never have too many running backs, but I’m wondering if this young man is an academic fit at GT. It’s great to know that, with 20 offers, he is assured of getting to play and get an education at the next level. Great luck to him, at Tech or wherever he winds up.
