One of the nation’s top junior college prospects is headed to UGA.
Trenton Brown, a 6-foot-9, 350-pound offensive tackle, committed to UGA on Friday morning. He also claimed football scholarship offers from Florida, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Kansas.
Brown attends Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, and is ranked as the nation’s No. 10 prospect out of junior colleges by 247sports.com.
Brown is commitment No. 24 for UGA’s 2013 recruiting class. He is on track to graduate early, and enroll at UGA in January.
“That’s big for Georgia, and will give them immediate depth,” said Rusty Mansell, National Recruiting Analyst for 247sports.com.
“I’m not sure there’s a bigger and more physical-looking prospect in the country. He told me this morning he’s 6-9 and 350 pounds …. And you would think a guy that big would be a little stiff. But he’s not. He’s got incredible [flexibility] for a guy that size.”

Do you guys remember a former Ga player named Jake Scott?
He was one of the all time great players ever, in college and pro.
Basically he was a stud at Ga. He vowed to never ever come back
to Athens because he hated the place dearly. He moved out to Hawaii.
It probably had to do with Vince Dooley more than anything. But a lot of
the reason was he just plain hated Ga.
Jake honored a dying former player’s wish to go back and be accepted to
the College Hall of Fame recently. However, he sure as hell didn’t apoligize for
his hate. Maybe that will help you understand why a lot of us hate the pups.
They could always run their mouth, but rarely back it up.

This means UGa will miss out on some other kids.
Having to sign such a big class because of all the MISSING Scholarship players will hurt UGa.
UGa is not going to get ALL the best Linemen because some are not going to risk playing time when there are other schools just taking one or 2 O-Linemen.

Wow Whiskey Breath, you really had to dig deep for that one. What does this have to do with the JC O lineman who just committed? Think most of your so called “hate” for the Dawgs is pure jealously and envy, but “little people” do childesh things.

@Whiskey Breath, he lives on the western most tip of the western most island in Hawaii, he’s hard to get in contact with by anyone on the mainland. Nobody in Miami has talked to him either. Something tells me he just wants to be left alone by everyone, not just the state of Georgia

No Whiskey Breath – no fans on a recruiting blog originating from the AJC has a clue who Jake Scott is! Really? The cure to “UGA Obsession Disorder” is to get a girl or get a life, whichever you prefer!

After reading all the UGa Fans comments about your players that get in trouble or don’t live up to your over-inflated expectations I don’t understand WHY any kid would go to UGa.
I sure can’t understand why an African America kid would even want to step foot in Athens to play for the Bad & Mad Redneck fans that will turn on them faster than a rabid dog.

Congrats to the young man on receiving a scholarship to play in the SEC.
I just wonder dog fans, if this doesn’t seem like plan B.
The signing of this kid could be an indication the dogs are not going to get some of the HS Linemen they want.

Jake Scott left UGA because of the decision made by Coach Dooley about which bowl the team would play in.
He has since made his peace with UGA and Coach Dooley and has been back to Athens.
You really are pathetic and desperate

concerned with their own achievements at the expense
of their own players.

WhiskeyBreath, Jake Scott spends about 6 months a year in his native Georgia.Heres an except from the article and a link.He grew up in Athens, his dislike was for Vince Dooley but certainly has nothing against UGA.Any other falsehoods you want to share?
The broader answer sounds like a nonstop adventure. He’s single, hasn’t worked a day of his non-football life and lives half the year in Hawaii. The other half, he returns to his native Georgia or is off like a dart at the map. He’s off to New Zealand this winter for a month with his Atlanta girlfriend. British Columbia is a common stop.http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-spjakescott19nov19,0,5255976.story?page=1

@Whiskey Breath, Jake Scott had a falling out over the bowl game Vince decided to accept. He grew up in Athens and he’s never said he hates the University of Georgia or the state of Georgia. He was/is a free-spirit and what you’d call a little eccentric.
BC75, the Dawgs have been on him from the start. This was not Plan B.
