Bama, Vols or UGA? (247sports)

Will 5-star RB Derrick Henry pick Alabama, Tennessee or UGA next month?

The mega-prospect from Yulee, Fla., has moved up his announcement date, according to multiple media reports. After de-committing from UGA earlier this summer, Henry had said that he planned to make his new decision in December (he’s going to enroll early in college).

However, Henry has changed his mind and will announce sometime next month.

Henry lists Alabama as his leader, Tennessee as his second favorite, and UGA at No. 3, according to First Coast News.

What about UGA? Henry was committed to UGA for nearly a year before backing away from the decision earlier this summer. It was encouraging for UGA fans when Henry attended this year’s “Dawg Night” prospect camp. However, Henry said afterwards that Alabama was still his leader.

Which school will Henry pick? Which school needs him the most? And if Henry does not pick UGA, how will that affect the chances of the Bulldogs with other top running backs, such as Alvin Kamara? Please post below.

If he wants to be the star of the show, he should go to UT. If he wants to learn humility and patience as well as win a couple of rings, Bama is the answer. If he wants to be part of mediocrity, well…..

Just think, in a few short weeks the season will start and we can quit reading about all these recruits and how they do not feel loved or wanted enough by a college coaching staff.

Vince Dooley would be like: “Well, Ahh talked to LARN Smith, and he and Ahh areruh in total Ahhgreement : The young man remands us boweth of Ahhchee Mannin. ” But because he isn’t white: “The boy is a baad appul if you ask meuh.” Gooo Dawgs. I think that he and his ego go to Bama and ride the pine. As badly as UGA needs a RB in this class, not sure UGA needs his attitude that badly, especially if Kamara joins. Not even sure where he fits into team (sorta big for a RB).
Dooley would love to have him and would probably let him write his own ticket with early playing time. Let’s face it, Dooley’s in trouble and may not last Henry’s whole college career. Tenn fans are not that patient.

If he picks:
Bamer – someone will get dropped off because of oversigning but he will never have to worry about getting arrested (at least not by any police employed in the State of Bamer
Tenn – He could wear Yellow
UGA – He would have to watch out for the police in Athens, otherwise he would have a great career.

TIde Roll, Tide Roll, Tide Roll, what am I going to do with you? Still immune to logic I see, but we will keep working at it. You do need to make it clear to our readers, for the sake of the Bama posters/readers, that you did NOT attend the University of Alabama. Did you?

If you can at least show some improvement in your reasoning skills, thinking logically, just may have to set you up at the Varsity followed by a tour of Grant Field. BUT, these posts today do not make me think I will have to do that.

Tampa Gator

I guess a lot of Tide fans are relieved that Demarcus Walker did not commit to the Gators at FNL. He did say his mind was made up after attending….but that just means he is a “lock” to the Tide if you are a Bama fan. Also…..I am strongly interested in what Hackenberg, rated by some as the nunber one QB in the country, has to say after visiting Penn State again. If he decommits, expect a bunch of SEC coaches to come calling….and they probably already have. I know the Florida coaches would love to have him become a Gator. U of F was high on his list before committing to PSU.

Tampa Gator

@Rick James….

I do not believe Bobby “Liar” Patrino would ever show his face as a head coach in the south again….I may be wrong, but I would expect him to end up next year as an offensive coodinator in the NFL after fixing things…or settling his divorce…..with his wife.

Plus….I think Tennessee is going to be a very much improved team this year. If they get any defensive play at all…..they could challenge for the East title. But….if…..applies to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Vandy as well.

Pretty straightforward to me. Does he want to play for a championship program going for its 3rd BCS national title in 4 years? Or does he want to play for either of 2 mediocre programs that may never sniff another national title.

If he know what best for him he go to Dawgs. Dawgs best at getting to NFL. And we got best parties with the Athens ladies. He can try out the ladies before getting to NFL money.

And then Coach Richt can teach to be Christians while winning for Dawgs. But Saban known for using up players and then medicals them when they injured. Coach Richt is better and more Christain. And we get more to NFL than Bammer or Dooley Boys Orange Pumkins.

Just pick Dawgs and we show you best time.

Go Dawgs!

” He did say his mind was made up after attending….but that just means he is a “lock” to the Tide if you are a Bama fan.”

TampaGator,

You’ve confused us with delusional dawg fans. We’ve already got a loaded roster at running back and Eddie Lacy is only a jr. Got 3-4 years of last year’s 5 star recruit TJ Yeldon- the MVP of our spring game with 179 total yds and the next great bama rb after Lacy. Add to that another 3-4 years of Dee Hart- another 5 star rb recruit who redshirted last year due to a knee injury. Hart holds the Fla. state td record with 50 in a season and is the only RB in US army all star game history to run for over 100 yds- securing mvp honors for the game. Plus we’ve got a pretty fast 246 lb tailback Jalston Fowler who would start on several other sec teams- the guy broke about 3 long td runs over 40+ yards last year so breakaway speed he does not lack.

For this year we’ve already got a great 4 star tailback in Altee Tenpenny that is perfect for us. He dominated the recent combine with Henry there and ran a 4.2. On top of all that we have the top rb in the state of Georgia committed. We are definitely in the lead for Henry but if we don’t get him at matters not one bit. We’re loaded as it is at rb and with or without Henry we are loaded already in the current class.

Whatever happens we have 4 great tailbacks on campus with 2 or more years of eligibility left and 2 top tier rbs committed already for the class of 2013 including the top rb in Georgia. Henry would just be the 7th running back and the 3rd 5 star rb just in the last year.

“But Saban known for using up players and then medicals them when they injured”

Sure buddy. Whatever your kool aid drinking fellow dawg fans tell you. If you can tell me one Bama player who complained that he was “used up” and given a medical then he might have an ounce of credibility. But you can’t. And btw Richt has put several dawg players on medical scholly in the past year or 2. Or did you not know that???

And another thing is it only matter of time before Bammer gets punished like PSU cause Saban dirty. Then Saban run to NFL and leave recruits holding bags when NCAA sniffing a round like he did at LUSer. So if Henry want to have lots a ladies and get to NFL as part of Dream Team without probationing then Dawgs is place to be.
