WR-DB Brandon Facyson has a 3.9 GPA and plans to be a heart surgeon (AJC)
After a rough morning on Saturday, Brandon Facyson had a happier finish to the day.
The DB from Northgate High School committed to Virginia Tech over Georgia Tech, Missouri, Ole Miss, North Carolina and Wake Forest.
On Saturday morning while at Virginia Tech, Facyson was rushed to a nearby hospital ER after having difficulty with breathing, eating and swallowing. Facyson was diagnosed with a abscess in his throat area and was given a shot of antibiotics.
“It just came out of the blue,” Facyson told the AJC. “I didn’t think it was anything serious but then it started affecting everything else. We went to the ER, which I was glad about. Because if I had waited later, I would’ve probably had to get [the abscess] drained.”
After spending 90 minutes in the hospital, Facyson was released and went directly to Virginia Tech camp and committed to coach Frank Beamer.
“I’ve always liked Virginia Tech,” Facyson said. “The coaches made me feel at home, the players made me feel at home, and that’s what I really want. I want to be wanted not needed. It’s a great program, and I have a overall great feeling about it.”
Facyson said his runner-up was Georgia Tech, although the Yellow Jackets had likely filled his spot with Friday’s commitment of Hillgrove DB Tolando Cleveland. “Yes, I didn’t know about that [until a few minutes ago],” Facyson said. “But I know I made the right decision. Virginia Tech was the best fit for me, and I’ve had [committing] to them on my mind for a couple of weeks.”

This is another kid I was looking forward to seeing at Tech but I did think there was an outside chance the UGA would get involved considering all rumors about Langley being a heavy uscjr lean. Well there still is the qb from Tucker
