Robert Nkemdiche: No. 1 prospect hoping Clemson offers another Grayson teammate

The No. 1 college football prospect in the nation says his commitment to Clemson is a “done deal” if the Tigers offer one more of his Grayson High School teammates, safety Ryan Carter.

“I am waiting on Clemson to offer Ryan; when that happens, it’s locked … it’s a done deal … it’s over,” Robert Nkemdiche told the AJC.

Nkemdiche says the primary reason he picked Clemson over LSU and Alabama, among others, was because the Tigers already had commitments from his two his Grayson teammates, RB Wayne Gallman and DB David Kamara. Also, earlier this week, former Grayson QB Nick Schuessler decided to give up his football scholarship to Mississippi State to be a preferred walk-on at Clemson (Nkemdiche has lived with Schuessler’s family at times).

The only person missing in the Grayson-to-Clemson pipeline is Ryan Carter, according to Nkemdiche.

This picture is priceless for Clemson fans: Dabo Swinney (center) with the nation's No. 1 prospect (left) and David Kamara. (Note: This photo was owned and submitted by the Kamara family. It was not owned, arranged, publicized or distributed by Clemson)

Robert Nkemdiche wants another high school teammate, Ryan Carter, in this photo, too (Note: This photo was owned and submitted by the Kamara family. It was not owned, arranged, publicized or distributed by Clemson)

Who is Ryan Carter? He’s a 5-foot-10, 175-pound defensive back who already has early football scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Georgia State, Tulane, Arkansas State and Southern Miss.

“He’s so hard-nosed,” Nkemdiche said. “He comes up and hits anybody. It doesn’t matter how big you are. He will come and hit you. That’s what I like about him. He plays with a high motor and is a great football player … Of course, I’m surprised he doesn’t have more offers. I’m waiting on him to get that offer from Clemson so he can come join the family.”

“Clemson said they like Ryan a lot and that he’s at the top of their board. Yes, sir, if Clemson offers Ryan, it would seal the deal. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it. David and Ryan, those guys are like family. They are like brothers to me. I’m close to them. We’ve had success playing football together and I don’t want to change it.”

Carter said he’s had limited contact with Clemson but would probably commit rather quickly if they offered a scholarship. “Yes, because that’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, to play with Robert in college. I’ve been best friends with David and Robert since the eighth grade. We’re like family.”

This is where it gets interesting: What if Clemson does not offer Ryan Carter?

Nkemdiche did not say he would de-commit  or make any demands — other than to say it will make him look at perhaps the only school left in the high-stakes race at this point, Ole Miss, where Nkemdiche’s older brother plays college football.

Coincidentally, Ole Miss offered Ryan Carter a scholarship the day after Nkemdiche committed to Clemson. “If Clemson doesn’t offer Ryan, it would make me look at Ole Miss a little more, it would,” Nkemdiche said. “It’s very important that I have my boys with me.”

Said Carter, “Yes sir, we’ve all talked about going to Ole Miss together if that doesn’t work out with Clemson. Robert’s brother is there, and he’s definitely trying to get us to go there.”

Note: Nkemdiche also said he will definitely take an official visit to Ole Miss this fall to see his brother play.  By the way, what was Denzel Nkemdiche’s reaction when his younger brother picked Clemson?

“He was like ‘I’d like you to come play with me at Ole Miss, but you have to do what’s best for you,’” Robert said.

Then there’s LSU, which Nkemdiche listed as his runner-up when he committed to Clemson. LSU was Kamara’s initial dream offer, but it never happened. LSU appears to be a longshot at this point.

“It’s real out there at LSU but they didn’t have any of my boys going there,” Nkemdiche said. “I didn’t feel like I would fit in there.”

What if LSU suddenly offers Kamara? “I don’t think it will change my mind at this point,” Nkemdiche said. “I feel like Clemson is the perfect fit for me for so many reasons. I hope they offer Ryan.”

If Clemson offers this guy, Robert Nkemdiche says it's a "done deal" for him to sign with Clemson (GraysonRamsFootball.com)

If Clemson offers this guy, Robert Nkemdiche says it's a "done deal" for him to sign with Clemson (GraysonRamsFootball.com)

Clemson fans can credit David Kamara for Nkemdiche committing to the Tigers. Nkemdiche knew relatively little about the program and wasn’t even really considering them until Kamara convinced him to accompany him to a few unofficial visits to Clemson this past spring.

“I just went up there a couple of times and I started liking it,” Nkemdiche said. “My boy David committed, and they liked Ryan. I want them to come with me. It feels like family at Clemson. The atmosphere is crazy. I liked it.”

Perhaps secondary in Robert’s attraction to Clemson was the spiritual connection to Dabo Swinney and the rest of the coaching staff. “I feel like God has blessed me in so many ways,” Nkemdiche said. “I feel like [Swinney] is really into God. And I feel like God can use me in so many ways that I could never imagine.”

When Nkemdiche visited Clemson last month, he was thinking about committing but didn’t know for sure until arriving on campus. After committing to Clemson, Swinney gave him the chance to back out of it. “He was like ‘Are you sure this is your final decision? Are you sure you are ready?’ I was like this is where I want to be, especially since my boys were coming along with me.”

If Clemson offered Ryan Carter, there would be the perception that it was a 5-for-1 package deal for Nkemdiche.

However, Grayson coach Mickey Conn said that’s not the case at all — that Nkemdiche’s best pals, Carter and Kamara, are legitimate D1 prospects. (Wayne Gallman is a 4-star talent who was recruited by most of the Southeast’s top programs)

“If Clemson offers Ryan, it won’t be because of Robert,” Conn said. “It will be because of Ryan. Colleges aren’t offering guys because of Robert. Well, there’s a little bit of influence [to get their film evaluated], I’m sure. But those guys are talented in their own right.

“Ryan Carter is extremely talented. You’re talking about a guy who runs a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. I timed him at 4.3 If you go back to the state championship game, that star running back committed to Alabama [Walton High School’s Tyren Jones], he had -19 yards rushing at halftime. A big part of that was our safeties, Ryan Carter and Kasey Gaines, coming up from the safety spot and hitting [Jones] in the backfield before he even got started.

“Ryan plays safety for us, but he can play a number of different positions, including wide receiver and cornerback. He has got great hands. He’s great with the ball in his hands. He returns punts. In the state championship game, he returned that long punt that put us in position to kind of put that game away right before halftime. He’s a very, very talented kid.”

Robert Nkemdiche is beloved by teammates for getting looks for them by colleges (AJC)

Robert Nkemdiche may have the spotlight on him, but he's used it in an unselfish way to request that colleges look at several of his high school teammates (AJC)

What about David Kamara? “That’s not a free scholarship just because he’s buddies with Robert. That kid can play, too. You take a look at his highlight film and you see all you need to see. The guy is a physical specimen at corner and he’s got great speed. He runs a 4.5 and changes direction really well. Another great thing that people don’t realize is how long his arms and legs are … extremely long.”

Grayson could have as many as 8-9 seniors sign D1 scholarships this year, and Conn gives a lot of credit to Nkemdiche, who mentions his teammates to college coaches when talking them.

“All these colleges come by our school to see Robert, and when they get here, they watch the film and see that we have other kids that can  play, too,” Conn said. “When your defense gives up 500 yards rushing in 15 games, there’s some talent there.

“These colleges have 25 scholarships or so. They’re not going to just give them out to get Robert. They’ve got to be able to play, and these kids can play.”

UPDATED: On late Friday night, Nkemdiche tweeted “I don’t like the ajc twisting up my words.” I then contacted Robert to see what specifically he was referring to in this article, where he felt like was misinterpreted, and offered to make any clarifications. With this story being picked up nationally, Nkemdiche was apparently upset with how he had been portrayed in some of the other blogs and on message boards. “I didn’t say if Ryan didn’t come [to Clemson] I won’t” — which is true. We reported that a Clemson offer to Ryan Carter would make Robert’s commitment a “done deal,” which is what he had said repeatedly in our previous interview. Despite his Clemson commitment, Nkemdiche is still being pursued by many other suitors because of his elite prospect status. Colleges will be trying to convince him to talk with their coaches and visit their campuses until signing day. With the “done deal” comment, Big Rob wasn’t making demands out of Clemson, but rather simply trying to help a teammate get a good look. (On a personal note, I thought that was refreshing because some elite prospect are self-absorbed, while Big Rob goes out of the way to try to help others). I asked Nkemdiche if there was anything else he wanted to say to the public. “It’s all good.” What do I think? I’ve been wrong before and will be again, but I think the possibility for Robert to have serious flirtations with other schools pretty much ended when Schuessler announced he was transferring to Clemson. That was big for Clemson. Even though Schuessler will join the program as a preferred walk-on, he is a legit D1 prospect and will likely earn a Clemson scholarship sooner than later. And again, Nkemdiche and Schuessler and his family are really close. Bottom line: Barring some unforeseen turn of events, there are just too many good things in place at this point (Kamara and Schuessler, proximity to home, Swinney’s impression, etc.) for Robert to sign anywhere else but Clemson.

Can somebody please explain to me why UGA with 40 scholarships available this year is not offering these Grayson kids to get Nkemdiche? And I still don’t know why we didn’t offer the brother last year? Grayson high school is like 15 minutes from Athens. I will never figure this one out.

Robert seems like a really nice guy and about the only trouble this guy will get into with his friends is missing a planned meeting on Wednesday night because he is at church. I’m sure Robert is every bit as good as advertised comparing him to other high school players but in the SEC he will be on a completely different level. He will be lucky to not be red shirted his Freshman year and his fellow teammates will definitely go that route. Nick Schuessler will probably never get to play except maybe a little his senior year. Kamara and Gallman may be starters by their Junior or senior year and Carter is just too short. Carter only has a 2 star rating meaning he doesn’t have anything special too offer and if he get’s an offer he may never be good enough to play at this level.
Robert is just trying to take care of his friends and surround himself with friends that he likes to hang out with. A major program like Georgia, Alabama, LSU or Florida would never give up that many scholarships to get one player and take a chance that the other four are good enough.
But in his defense it certainly would be better than having so many Scholarships left over that you give 8 of them to walk on’s. I had to throw that little jab at Mark Richt’s hoping that dumb sh++ never happens again.

I also think that Robert chose an ACC team or in the SEC a team that will never be able to compete for the Championship, like Ole Miss. knowing that would be the best route to get his friends playing as much as possible. It want help Clemson or Ole Miss. win the big games but it will get his friends a little playing time. That tells you Robert could care less about winning because that is not what motivates him.
Hopefully Richt has completely written him off as a no way we will get him. Robert has the physical attributes needed to be a great player but you have to question the mental toughness he needs to be a leaders.

Several of the UGA recruits have stated the reason they picked UGA is because of the long standing relatonships with Garner, Bobo and others since 9th or 10th grade.

That kid is the number 1 prospect and part of the state championship team and one of the best defenses around. If he produces as expected hes going to make more money for Clemson than they will ever spend on him. For once we have a kid who isn’t all about himself. He hasn’t issued an ultimatum, just putting a little pressure on. He’s trying to take care of some team mates and some of you want to bash him for that.

I wonder what you would have done…Oh but wait, you were never the number 1 prospect being recruited by every major school with the juice to add a little pressure on the behalf of your friends..

Please don not presume to speak for the Tide Nation, to say we (Alabama) did not and still “are” not recruiting Robert & David is not only wrong, but down right idiotic and naive.

We (UA) only have so many scholarships to offer and unlike UGA which could basically offer his whole team are not in that position.

If Clemson can make a package deal which seems to be much more popular now than a few years ago then so be it and we wish them well.

But to say that Alabama does not wish for his and others service is a blatant lie & half truth.

He has been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse, so maybe Florida will may an exception with the kid and let him enter in the fall semester. If not, his dad also said he has already received offer 30 offers to play elsewhere….but will most likely head to the Canes if not accepted at Florida. Ryan Carter competes at highest level of high school football in U.S. and is very successful. These Grayson kids are part of a tremendous program in Gwinnett County and most of the schools are run top of the line by the head coaches. These Gwinnett County kids are taught well and disciplined well, they have to study and make grades, they are expected to represent the school and its student body, IMAGE AND CHARACTER.

UGA fans should realize that something is very wrong because you do not see any of the Gwinnett football players begging to be in Athens to play. Less than an hour away. Looks to me like the higher educated the player and the family members, the quicker they run from UGA FOOTBALL and its coaching staff.

I do not like what Nkemdiche is doing here, but people are blowing this way out of proportion. First off this is not a “5 for 1″ deal. Clemson has given out three scholarships to kids from Grayson. Wayne Gallman is a 4 star running back…would have been offered regardless. Nick, whatever his last name is, is a walk on. I’m not so sure if Kamara would have been offered a scholarship so soon if not for Nkemdiche. I would be very surprised if Clemson offers Ryan Carter with DBs Kendall Fuller, Vernon Hargreaves, Vonn Bell, and MacKensie Alexander still showing interest in the tigers. Bottom-line, as of now, it is at most a 2 for 1 deal…well worth it.

Really-
If the team mates had the talent and the grades, this would be a moot point because they would have the scholarship offers. If a 4.0 student with a 1600 SAT score tells a university they will only take the full ride scholarship only if they take their friend with a 2.5 GPA and 1100 SAT score what do think would happen?

Same ole Clempson. A couple of stars to hype their fanbase but too many scrubs throughout their roster. They just took an OL from Georgia with no other offers whatsoever. Their OL has been, is and will continue to be soft and weak. They havent had an OL drafted in the first 3 rounds of the NFL draft in over 30 years.

I’ve watched Grayson play very closely for the last 3 years and they have a real good football program. The coaching staff are at the top of the list in the country! The players on the team seem to be very discipline, talented and skilled at there positions. Robert and his bodies are a blessed group of fellas, I enjoy watching them play. It’s good to see team mates attend college together, because it creates a bond for life and a support system while the strive for excellance in the class room. Also, I don’t want to fail to mention that these young men are not only good athletes, but good students. I’m not a Clemson Fan, but follow these atheletes careers will draw my attention to the Tigers! I live on the Southwest side of the ATL, but I’ve gain alot of respect for the Grayson High Football Program!

Most of those kids that play for Grayson have been recuited from other counties(Dekalb). Didn’t Caleb King play for Parkview?

You are right about gallman being very legit.

Kamara is work in progress, ryan carter actually brings more to the table at this time than Kamara. The thing that makes me laugh at my UGA fanbase is throwing off on this kid ryan carter, he is so much more the football player, athlete and academically ready than this rico kid UGA offered but tunnel vision of continuing failure is hard to overcome. I will tell you this, UGA had a midget not long ago that played cornerback and was tough, made it to the nfl – Ryan Carter is faster, more intelligent, actually taller and possesses the same toughness as our former UGA midget that was very very good. Ryan Carter could turn out to be a very valuable player for Clemson if offered.

What’s with all the hate and ego butthurt? RN is a HS kid…seems to be a good/nice one too…and wants to play with his ‘lifelong’ (so far) buds…and Dabo (love him!) is in a position to take these kids and create something around them. Best to them all! They’ll all do well in the ACC and enjoy their college experience. Would love to have RN but its not going to be a biggie for BAMA if we don’t get him. I’m not under any awareness that we ‘cooled’ on him either. We have no interest in his teammates, only in him. He chose Climpson over us, to be with his friends. End of story. NEXT!!

BTW, I sure hope we keep RF too but if we don’t, we’re still gonna win because we’re BAMA. We do things the right way…we win with 11, not 1 or 2 uber stars…11 cohesive talents, coached right and executing to near perfection! If we play’em, they may make a play or two but at game’s end, we’ll win. We’re BAMA! End of story. Best of luck to all…

a little overboard there. will uga’s defense be as stout in 2013 as what’s going to be out there in 2012…….no. but there is still plenty of talent that will DEFINTELY return. guys like: thornton, gilliard, herrara, swann, mitchell are all guaranteed to return.

the above are names that are all proven players. we don’t know which guys may return for their senior season and we’ve yet to see what freshman are the real deal. you can add 2-3 guys that will pan out. that’d be 8 solid returning players on defense. hard to argue w/ a defense returning 8 stout players, of which are mixed throughout the 3 lines.

What a bunch of people that are eating sour grapes! There are far too many to respond to the individual posts but I am just amazed by all the haters. You folks don’t know Robert personally yet feel qualified to talk like you know his every thought. Really interesting since the reading comprehension exhibited it so low. Robert did not dictate that all of his friends get scholarship offers. 3 of the 5 had already committed to being there. All Robert is saying is that he really wants another of is teammates to be a part of the same team. Why is that so bad? He is a teenager that wants to help his friends if he can. As far as the talent, they demonstrated they have some by the way they played last year. Is it at the top of the talent pool in college? Possibly not but then there are a large number of young men that make it on a team only to have to ride the bench some or work the practice squad. Why is that a bad thing? The starters are better by having good talent on the practice squad. Besides that, there are plenty of players that developed into good solid players when no one else thought they could.

Well played, Robert Nkemdiche. Well played, young man. Glad to see a young man is smart enough to know how to negotiate a deal. Take Clemson for all their worth. While you’re at it, research what they were paying in 1981 and adjust that to 2012 dollars. It will be interesting to watch the bidding war between Ole Miss and Clemson between now and signing day. The way he uses religion (nothing against religion, just against using itto lure recruits) is simply deplorable. It`s a shame some of these kids and ther families listen to his mouth and don`t look at the numbers, which are the truth – things like 70-33, 34-13 (score of South Carolina game – lost 3 straight to USC for the 1st time in 40 years). Yes, he talks the talk but doesn`t walk the walk. With so much attention now paid to recruiting by fans, the media, by other college coaches and, of course, by the kids and their families, this has gotten to be an often awkward high-stakes game of poker. If Nkemdiche floated this to Clemson off-line, maybe the Tigers balk and this is the kid’s way to putting them — and other programs — on notice. He’s putting things on the table. Now everyone can see how Clemson is going to respond. If the coach doesn’t jump, then Nkemdiche may go look over at Ole Miss, which already has his brother on the roster. What makes this situation even thornier is you know that a bunch of 15- and 16-year-olds are paying close attention. What will next year’s No. 1 recruit ask for?

Point being, as absurd as that sounds the Grayson group are at least legitimate Division 1 football players and it also say’s how disgusting Georgia giving away 8 scholarship’s in 2010 made us look. I hope that stellar outcome in our 2010 recruiting results are never repeated.

Remember in 1978-79 UGa’s Dooley forced UGa to offer a Full Ride to Herschel’s sister in Track? Would Herschel have turned down UGa 7 Dooley? I don’t think so but that offer made SURE Herschel would be at UGa and have a stable family member on campus with him.

I’m sure because they were highly recruit as well. Brought some of there best friend’s to play with them too. There’s just didn’t get out like this one did. If I was the coach of Clemson & after looking at this tape of Ryan’s. Yes you better know I would offer this kid a deal too. He is good you haters. You are just mad that an SEC team not getting the top rank player in the USA again. Last season the Tiger got Jimmy Kelly family member out of N>Y> the top rank player in the country & this year we getting another top rank in the country & now all the haters are mad out there. Who care’s. Ain’t nothing in the NCCAA ruling say you can’t talk to the same school you are going to play for bout taking a look at some of your friend’s if they as good or better than me in other positions. Who’s brother James Davis wanted his brother to go to Clemson. But after the gamecock’s had the sign him. Then your coach try to get him to still go make a visit to Clemson to see who he can try & talk to coming to Carolina. So DaBo told him no thanks to his visit. Because he had already had one of the top rank classes in the country. So all you SEC haters keep on hating. Because Clemson is going to kill the Gamecock’s for sure this season. Tunsil has 5 teams at the top, he says they are all equal but the fact remains that Florida is in the lead. R Foster would start as a freshman at UGA the way things have moved but he knows that a championship during his time would probably never happen. Trey Matthews wants to play LB in college and would get that opportunity at UGA, not sure if Auburn has offered Matthews chance to play LB.

WHEN OR IF, McQuackity ever gets a worthwhile contract to Todd Grantham and these 2013 recruits get a good feeling than something may break UGA way, until then this excitement UGA fans are having will ride to Feb, 2013 NSD

Spence was a star and a few of the others got drafted but the 4 years brought us nothing but average football, a terminated coaching staff, and a sense of entitlement that Golden inherited.

Alabama could do it. They would just add them to their medical hardships list after the season ended, and then sign like 40 players the next year.

===========================================================

It is an old old mental defect that seems to run through Jacket fans in a peculiarly widespread sort of affliction .

I actually first ran into it 12 years ago on a UCLA Bruins football forum in the summer of 2000 . The Tide hadn’t heard from or cared about ANYTHING involving the Jackets in decades … yet here was this obviously bogus Tide fan posting particularly transparent flame bait at the Bruins . It was so over the top filled with silly cliches you would think anyone would have seen through it .

At the time I at first chalked it up to being an Auburn fan … or a Vol … at least someone with a real and recent axe to grind . I continued on posting there and of course so did the impostor along with several other Tide fans .

All of a sudden this thread pops up over on The Hive. The silly jacka** who was posing as a Tide fan couldn’t help but brag at his “accomplishment” . A Jacket poster with several hundred post to his handle . he craved attention from his brethren . And … of course he got it . He was surrounded and roundly congratulated on a long thread for his “accomplishments” and they all had a good “laugh” .

I learned in a way I never learned from reading Auburn threads … fans of programs who don’t really value football and never have Sh** to cheer or hope for have to find some other reason to justify hanging around football forums …

I not hating on him. Im just watching Clemson sell out to him. If I was him I would do the same thing. Use the leverage with any school that would be willing to do what I wanted. I dont care where he goes really, especially if its not an SEC school. Personally I dont think a wholelot of top GA players that go play out of state. It doesnt sit well. It is like treason. Unpatriotic. Why in the world would a kid want to go to another state and help that school win instead of their own state? Traitors for the most part unless a kid just grew up liking a school very much for some reason. Or if there was too much competition at the position and he thought he would ride the pine most the time. I get that, but if you are a top athlete who doesnt have to worry about competitionor playing time, why betray all the citizens in your state and go play for another state? You just want to get away? You like the colors? You like the name? You get more perks than the instate school? Im not just talking with GA, but all states. Sure there are only so many instate D1 scholarships and they cant all stay in but the best ones usually can stay in state. They like being taken out on all the dates and kissed by the coaches and wined and dined and then fall for the smoothest ones? The ones that offer the most? Whatever. It just makes me sick. Why not go play for some other country in the Olympics because you just like them or they made a great offer? Just go become a citizen of Norway or Egypt or Saudi Arabia and try to help them win a gold medal and beat the USA?

Why go to another state college where the education is not as good or definitely not better and help them beat YOUR HOME STATE?! Here is to Clemson , Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn and Tenn LOSING EVERY BOWL GAME they play in the next 5 years and ALL the big SEC games…Stay in your own loser states. GA taxes paid for these players since junior high and middle schoolt, Better high school ball and programs in GA and more money is spent on it and not for you traitor schools coming in here. You betray he players in your own states, play with what is your own states. That IS coaching. Not going out and getting all the BEST players and saying oh look at what a great coach I am(Saban)use whats in your state and win with what you got. Unfair really when u think about it.

There should be like a 3-5 player out of state rule or something…I know there wont be but GA is RECRUITED HARD and will be even more with Missouri and A&M coming in. Coast-to-coast and all along the east coast are un GA HARD zfter the players….It is a LOT to fend off and the ones that

piss me off the worst is South Carolina and Alabama schools! Just venting….thank you

Not to mention kid after kid … after kid after kid … has stated in interviews AFTER Signing Day … Saban promised me nothing (regarding playing time ) Most telling was the Georgia player who ended up at FSU but commented after the fact that Saban told him straight up he would have to earn anything he got for playing time at Bama . The details that do get made public regarding how Saban deals with recruits is that he is ALL business in his approach ( Dorial Green-Beckhams father said the same exact thing )

As far as the younger Kouandjio brother … his recruiting was sidetracked by an extremely weak AU attempt at flat out blackmail ( sign with us or we will get you disqualified by the NCAA for what you did down here … at our urging ) Once Coach Saban got involved that sh** came to a screeching halt . Cyrus Kouandjio’s father was asked later about what happened with Cyrus and what he thought of Coach Saban … his response was “You mean the Wise One ? ”

Don’t ever fool yourself for a minute that Nick Saban is letting these KIDS (or what a random fan supposedly yells ) yank HIS chain , run HIS roster … or dictate HIS coaching decisions ….

As someone said earlier in the thread “Conn will be the DB coach at Clemson”—would not surprise me a bit seeing that him and Dabo were roomates while at Alabama. Not just in the state of GA, So maybe Clemson didn’t even offer him a deal. But I just love how you all come up with excuses bout why this one or that one didn’t take him. Because they didn’t won’t to give out three more deals for some good players that they miss as coaches. Bottom line to all you haters. Just deal with it. @PBT DAWG FAN

The problem with your opinion/theory is two fold . For one thing It totally ignores the fact that Arie was already on track to contribute on the offensive line when a knee injury IN A GAME put him out . How is it a young man can be ranked so high by so many services … plays in an All American game … comes to Bama and earns a backup spot on a crowded and talented roster … but YOU can tell us “Saban didn’t really want him”

I can tell you how . It is the second problem … you can’t . All you can do is state it as some sort of “fact” … but you can’t produce a shred of evidence to support it . Not one commas worth of support to your statement that you don’t manufacture yourself .

On the other hand … it is fairly easy to produce evidence that Arie was talented enough to stand on his own . He was certainly MUCH higher ranked at the time than this year’s virtually unknown commit Grant Hill was when Coach Saban accepted his commitment .. (Grant Hill is a “package deal” too I guess ;-) )

Jay, repeating it won’t make it true of the 4 the RB will most likely be the only one to contribute. The Qb, Carter, and the CB are all reaches. the QB and Carter(special teams specialist) long reaches. Its doubtful the Qb will ever play meaningful down at Clemson. The bigger question is will Clemson to put Ram horns on the helmets and change colors if requested by RK.

Saban has 85 men on his roster that he recruited with the get your azz in the classroom, the weight room, and the film room and he CAN’T afford to bring turds that spend their time in the twitter room! I am not sure why Nick signed Duron Carter knowing the history of the kid but one only assumes he thought he could mend the kids bad habits and that is what his father wanted as well. By most accounts Duron Carter is in the Alabama Missing Man formation. You can’t save them all no matter how much structure you have in your organization and Bama’s is topshelf. You can’t allow one turd to corrupt what the other 84 have worked so hard to attain. Roll Tide.

Jay I was not aiming the comment directly at any conference because all schools would take RK if he flipped. I do also think that all of those kids are D1 prospects as well. The Carter kid may not be offered a top of the line D1 but he has potential and could end up contributing as well. The QB may or may not end up playing much at Clemson but he too has a good upside….personally think he should have gone somewhere besides Clemson just because of the type of offense they run.

Ghost did you not see the corner back video on this story name Ryan Clark? How can you say he might not play? I bet he get a chance to show what he got doing training camp. A player like this one who is all around the ball in every clip of that video will get some looks & plays draw up for him if he look good in training camp. So you can’t say what he won’t get. But who is your team Ghost? Don’t tell me you are another hurt SEC fan that your coach didn’t even give the #1 player in the country an offer or a look? No cdpridg I don’t think that Clemson had seen tape on this guy Ryan Carter. Because there focus where so much on the #1 player in the country. Now this happen all the time with good teams who had more than just one good player on there team that may get over looked. So that might have happen here cdpridg. Because it’s no way if DaBo wouldn’t seen this DB Ryan Carter on tape & seen him always around the ball in every clip wouldn’t offer this dude a deal to come play for the Tiger. Now GO BLUE you got a point there now my friend. Because they have one or two more Qb’s in front of there Qb I wouldn’t going some where else too. But I know Ryan Clark will get a look in training camp & will get some playing time as well. Look at our freshmen from last year. So one even though this kid Sammy Watkins wouldn’t lead the ACC & the country the way he did as a freshmen. So you can miss on a great player when you just focus on one of them on that team.

Georgia Tech has the nation’s highest average SAT score for football players, and also the highest average high school GPA.

UGA, on the other hand, has one of the very lowest SAT averages, as well as a very low GPA average. As a result, three-fourths of UGA players are “special admits,” when means that they can not meet the minimum educational and intelligence requirements for admission to UGA, even as low as that is.

Yes, it would be great if Tech was more competitive with UGA, but Tech fans are proud of our heritage of having intelligent, responsible athletes who go on to rewarding careers and contribute to society.

Contrast this with the very unintelligent dummies that UGA recruits. The 50 arrests over the last four years is proof enough, not to mention winning the Fulmer Cup. Most of these goons are tossed out after their eligibility is over, and many end up on welfare.

UGA is clearly just a football f-a-c-t-o-r-y dedicated to winning at all costs, and most UGA fans are okay with this, with no concern about the embarrassment this brings to the State of Georgia.

Mark Richt is the architect of this situation. As long as he is paid a huge salary, he will continue to recruit the illiterate brain-dead t-h-u-g-s who he thinks will win. Unfortunately for UGA fans, he’s not remotely in the same league with the top coaches in the SEC.

So the bottom line is that Georgia Tech – win or lose – does so with honor and integrity, while the lowlife punks, woman beaters, drug users, and drunks in Athens continue to embarrass us all.

But any fool or hater can look at this guy video & say who wouldn’t offer Ryan a deal. You see him around the ball in everyone of his clip in this video. How bout all you haters get a grip please. Alot of you haters on here just mad that your sorry coaches of your teams you root for just mad that they miss these other players because they were focus on one player in Nkemdiche. If you are on twitter. Follow me @brojg1. Yes & to let all you haters know. Yes I’m a Heat fan as well.

Silly ego children.

You people are going budbattcrapnezerk crazy from an AJC article about a teenager who is listed by some as #1 recruit in nation.

I had no idea that the eSECpn network elevated your IQs to the level of mindreaders and prognosticators extraordinaire.

Chill out SECdiots.
Bamatreekillers – grow up.
AUburn Cheatigers – look out for the NCAAs.
USlikethechampsbcweinseC – Can I get a room at the Whitney?

If a team has spots and wants to take a kid, then go ahead. I bet all teams would gladly take a 5′ 2″ crosseyed placekicker if he was best friends with Montavious Adams.

Hook Em Horns. Glad you can fondle some Texas Aggies for your willies. Good riddance.

Agree with Relax, this is nuts….if the kid decided to flip to UGA or Bama (both have offers on the table for him, STILL) either of those teams would be happy. It amazes me that when ONE kid does not pick the school of your choice that you turn on him so quickly. These are 17-18 yr old kids and they will do some silly things as I am sure everyone of you have. As I said, EVERY school in the country would still say yes to him if he said he would flip to them. Saban told him that if he changed his mind that he would have a scholly, Richt only backed off after NK told him that he in no way was going to UGA (was because of the way UGA showed interest in his bro but did not offer)……but BOTH still have offers there for him.
