It has been a rough week for UGA.
UGA lost its second recruit of the week when WR Kyrin Priester backed off his commitment to the Bulldogs on Friday.
Earlier in the week, UGA’s top-rated recruit, 5-star tailback Derrick Henry, also decided to “re-open” his recruiting after being committed to the Bulldogs since last summer. He made a statement that you can read here, saying he rushed his decision — but claims he is still considering the Bulldogs.
What about Priester? He’s a Florida native who recently transferred from the Orlando area to Brookwood High School. A couple of months ago, the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder committed to UGA over Vanderbilt and TCU, citing UGA’s needs for wide receivers and his appeal to Mark Richt’s Christian beliefs (click to read story).
On Friday after playing with his Brookwood teammates in a 7-on-7 tournament. Priester confirmed that he was backing off his decision.
“I just want to see all my other options before I make a serious decision,” Priester told the AJC.
UGA, which was on a tremendous roll in recruiting with 20 commitments for 2013 at the beginning of the week, now is at 18. However, the Bulldogs could add more commitments as early as this weekend, with Saturday’s Mark Richt Football Camp.
Despite the loss of Priester, UGA still has the commitments of three other wide receivers, including Tramel Terry and Uriah LeMay (younger brother of UGA QB Christian LeMay).

I’m sure there’s more to this story than has come out; the Bulldogs will be just fine with this outstanding class. There’s still plenty of time to fill additional slots.

No big deal. UGA will still sign a top 10 class. Biggest area of need is linemen and DB’s. Losing one WR commit isn’t the end of the world.

I feel you bro, i drive a truck as well, it sure is a shame that the state of Alabama has taken over 2 decades to rebuild the I-20 corridor from ATL to BRGM, take a drive anywhere near B-ham and you’ll see what i am talking about. I wonder if most of the state’s tax revenues go towards the two big football programs. BaHaHaha !

Can’t blame the kid, honestly. We have 3 WRs committed for 2013 currently, all being 4 stars in the Rivals250 rankings. If anything, the kid is making a good life decision for himself. I wish him luck wherever he ends up committing!

Seriously, take a look at our post spring depth chart. It lists us only three deep at offensive line, and some of those are duplicates. (Dallas Lee is starting guard AND third string center.) Meanwhile we are six and seven deep at the skill positions!!! There is only one ball! And a solid line makes a good running back great, not the other way around! This has been an ongoing issue since Richt has been here. Enough with the ‘window dressing’ recruits! Its time to start hemming up the states linemen and make recruiting translate to wins, not just recruiting rankings!!!

NOT ROUGH WEEK.
1st we did not need another running back. We have plenty of running backs. It made sense he un-committed, as I said he would do all along.
2nd, can we be hones here ? We have
Tramel Terry with 4.38 speed ranked # 16 WR nationally committed for 2013 already.
Uriah LeMay ranked # 45 WR nationally committed for 2013 already with 4.54 speed.
Reggie Davis # 87 WR nationally committed for 2013 already.
How many WR is Mark Richt going to start out of 1 recruiting class ?
Go ahead, how many ? 2. Is this gentleman going to be 1 of the 2 ?
Vandie gave him an offer. He would be a good fit for Vandie. TCU too. Those are his 2 offers.
Withdraw the offer to Kyrin Priester # 68 WR please Mark Richt and Bryan McClendon. You have to have some class in recruiting. Been too many times in years past where Mark Richt signed too many players at 1 position. And, what have we had as a result ?
ATTRITION.
Best of luck Kyrin Priester, don’t kill us too badly at Vandie. Doubt we face TCU. You are in fine shape with 2 excellent schools with good teams to choose from; pick 1 who doesn’t sign 2 of the best WR in the nation in the same recruiting class Kyrin. I am with you on this. Again, best of luck.

McGarity fires the womens golf coach and before you know it a offer from one of the most prominent girls golf teams known as Furman University offer a job. I am beginning to think that McGarity is not only in over his head, but without a doubt the dumbest person in Butts Mehre.
You cannot make this stuff up, McGarity fires a head coach and they upgrade to a top 10 golf college as the head coach. Congratudamnlations McQuackity, you Fup again.

Most of you people clearly don’t know anything.
First of all, anyone who thinks Richt won’t be back is on drugs. He’ll win at least 11 games in 2012, and at least 10 in 2013–bare minimum. No coach is going to get fired with that kind of record, especially not one with as clean a rep as CMR.
Second, Grantham just signed a three year extension. He’s already said that he wants to be in Athens for a while and has no interest in going back to the NFL right now. A head coaching gig at a major university is the only thing that might lure him away–but that is not likely to happen anytime soon.
This will be Georgia’s best recruiting class ever–and the nucleus for a nice half-decade run for Coach Richt. Spurrier will be drooling away in a nursing home with a feeding tube in his gut by the time CMR leaves Athens.

Be careful, you read to many pay sites articles
First: Mark Richt appears to be finished with coaching after the 2013 season, all evidence points in that direction.
Second: Todd Grantham has not signed or agreed to the contract offer from McQuackity and is very unhappy with money offered and wants a new job for more money at the end of 2012
S Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Lsu are loaded
UGA, Auburn,Vandy, Arkansas have more talent but coaching will be the difference for 2 years
Texas A&M, Missouri ????
Ole Miss, Miss St, Tenn, Kentucky – improving but ????
