David Kamara: Robert Nkemdiche’s best friend picks Clemson

The Grayson-to-Clemson pipeline? (AP)

Two of Robert Nkemdiche’s high school teammates have committed to Clemson.

Will the nation’s No. 1overall college prospect follow them to the ACC school?

“I know Robert likes Clemson, but I don’t know about that,” said David Kamara, the Grayson High School defensive back who committed to Clemson on Wednesday. Grayson tailback Wayne Gallman has already pledged to the Tigers.

“Hopefully Robert comes to Clemson but if that’s not what he wants to do, I’ll support his decision.”

Another Clemson-Grayson connection: Grayson coach Mickey Conn roomed and played football together at Alabama with Clemson coach Dabo Swinney.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Kamara has been best friends with Nkemdiche since middle school. He picked Clemson over Ole Miss among his nine football scholarship offers.

“It was Clemson, Ole Miss and LSU,” Kamara said. “I had been talking to LSU and was hoping to get an offer from LSU when I went to camp there. But when I came to Clemson this time, I felt like it was the best place for me, and this was the time to do it [commit].”

Gallman has been at Clemson since Tuesday for football camp. Nkemdiche and Kamara arrived on Wednesday and plan to stay until Friday.

Nkemdiche has Alabama, Ole Miss, Clemson, LSU, UGA, Florida and Mississippi State among his favorites.

I like how you put his favorite schools in order of how he probably has them in his mind.

Same old song n dance from MC. Does he actually get paid for this? How many times can you write that Conn and Swinney played together at Alabama? Who in their right mind thinks will in any way determine where RN goes.

Already a done deal per a few of the Clemson players, still waiting for RN to make the announcement first though.

UGA loses sight of a top athlete again, 2013 recvr Carlos Burse who is 6′2″, 200 and room to grow commits to Vandy. Great job UGA, lets keep signing 6′ and shorter WR to play with our current 5″11″ QB. Let the home state players leave, I would take Burse over Terry every day.

but I will take the UGA coaches on this one, though I have heard good things about Burse. Most talent evaluators concur with the Dogs on Terry.

Another gaff from RC Rodney Garner!! Could’ve had his brother last year; now doesn’t even offer his best freind when UGA has more scholarships to offer; if UGA had locked down his brother and best friend; his commitment would have been close to a lock!! Ask him to smell the roses instead of the chocolate wonderfall @ Golden Corral!! Tired of CRG’s recruiting gaffs, tired of CMB’s ineffective play calling, and tired of CWF’s ineptness of recruiting surperior OL!!! Time for a change!! Let’s see how the cards fall this year!!!

HE WILL LIKELY GO TO CLEMSON, TENNESSEE, OR ALABAMA.

IT IS TOUGH TO TELL A NICK SABAN NO. SABAN IS A CHAMPIONSHIP COACH—-HE HAS MORE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS THAN UGA.

ALABAMA, CLEMSON, OR ROCKY TOP ARE THE THREE LEADERS.

Chicken Town – Saban is “lord” only in your mind. He hasn’t been knighted by the Queen. Even Saban wouldn’t want to be worshiped like some idol… …… though shallow lemmings bow to him. He’s not perfect. He can be defeated. Give it a rest.

If UGA signed every major football player in the state, we would need 75 to 100+ slots each year. Why is there so much negative commit regarding the ones that decide for their own reasons to go else where? I would rather UGA be known as a school that reviews the available prospects and gives offers to those that can help the team improve and develop. Not a school like Ala., Tenn. and SC that give out offers and then cull them as comittments are made.

Kmac put your money where your mouth is. Let’s say $100 on each one of those games you are predicting UGA will lose. If you take my bet you are the sucker.

Vegas usually don’t like teams that are “trending downwards”. Neither do preseason prognosticators. Now, there is a team in Georgia that appears to be trending downward, but it ain’t in Athens.

@RHall55…what idioitic comments….RN’S brother last year wasn’t qualified at the time and even if the dawgs would have taken him, and they did offer by the way, once he qualified but he had already committed to Ole Miss…but again had we taken him, people like you would have been on here bashing the dawgs for only taking him because of Robert….also, Kamara is rated lower on the boards than other UGA targets, but you forget about that, because its much easier to critisize and complain about everything sitting behind a computer….I doubt if much has changed for Robert regardless of where his brother or friends are going…I still see him as bama bound…but hey you might be right…you seem to know everything about recruiting and coaching…

Talk to him as well , he does not want to play jack LB in Bamas 3-4 defense , wants to be a rushing DE in a 4-3 defense and he loves how LSU puts D lineman in the league. LSU wins out in the end!!

I’m hoping he chooses Bama of course, but I wish him luck wherever he goes. Why not go to Clemson…Maybe he could help them only give up 6 td’s when they make it back to a BCS bowl game again (Even though they should be banned for their peformance in the Orange Bowl). I mean Chris Rumph did produce Dequan Bowers…Oh wait…He left for Bama.
