Uriah LeMay: UGA QB’s younger brother ready to commit

Uriah LeMay, a 4-star wide receiver from Matthews, N.C., will announce on June 1. Due to the family connection, UGA is considered one of the schools to beat for LeMay, who has been poker-faced about his leaders and the recruiting process. On Tuesday, his father sent out this text message to the media:

Uriah LeMay has been nominated to 4 All American games thus far as he approaches his senior season. He has over 30 D1 offers and is now at a point where he is ready to announce his college school of choice. This announcement will take place at Champion Christian Center on June 1st @ 6pm.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound LeMay attended last month’s G-Day game to watch his brother, Christian, who is a red-shirt freshman.

“Obviously with his brother at Georgia, they have as good of a shot as anybody,” said Rusty Mansell, National Recruiting Analyst for 247sports. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Uriah ended up at Georgia, but I haven’t heard that it’s a done deal there yet.”

What is the scouting report on LeMay? “I think the thing that stands out on film about Uriah is that he catches the ball well in traffic — he’s not afraid to go over the middle,” Mansell said. “He also does a good job at catching the ball out in front of him.

“Wherever he goes to college, I can see him at H-Back or at the slot receiver, sort of like how Georgia used Orson Charles. It would create a lot mismatches against the linebackers and safeties covering him.”

UGA already has 16 commits for its 2013 recruiting class, including two at wide receiver – Kyrin Priester of Brookwood High School and Tramel Terry of Goose Creek, S.C.

Havent heard much about the kid..anyone have any familiarity with him? Just being Christian’s lil brother doesnt sum his abilities up much. Do we have bigger fish on the board than him? Or is a good fit for the Dawgs?

6′1 190 H-Back? Really his dad really should re-evaluate that.

@Lowcountry I’m pretty sure the H-back comment was Rusty Mansell not his father, either way that doesn’t seem to be the best fit for his size.

Yes, Pirt you are correct. The kid woulding seemingly need to be atleast 6′3 240 to qualify IMO as a H-Back /Hybrid type player.

G-Dawg,

Uriah is probably in the top 5 of receivers on our board. The only ones we’ve got rated above him are guys that are considered longshots, at best, for us to land (Marquez North, Taj Williams, Mike Williams, Demarcus Robinson). The combination of his high ranking (from all the services) and family connection make him a player the Dawgs will be thrilled to get a commitment from.

@ all

should commit to a SEC school – Tennessee is a favorite of this young man and the depth chart of wide receivers is certainly in his favor for 2013 season. I would be surprised if U Lemay commits to UGA although being where his brother is could make the difference as with anyone.

HEY, did you guys hear that Crowell and Ken Malcolm met with Richt and Bobo? Richt/Bobo wanted their input on who should start on the offensive line, as well as where their recruiting efforts should focus as far as offensive lineman. It seems fair since Crowell and Malcolm’s well being depend on who’s up front. It’s their butt that’s at stake. It was a nice gesture by Richt and Bobo. Anyway, Crowell and Malcolm both agreed. They would much more prefer to line up behind the Bynum kid from the Valmont School than 6′7″ 340lb. future NFLer Shamire Devine! Let him go to Tech. You know, the only way this CRAP will end is to force Richt and Bobo line up at tailback and hit it up in the two hole behind Dallas Lee. After both are released from St. Marys, you’ll see a concerted effort to change Devine’s mind and go after his teammate as well. What a joke of a program

Whoa, hold on a sec…does anyone know if Christian LeMay will see the field this year? I know at one point Daddy LeMay was in his ear about possibly tranferring if he doesn’t get snaps this year…Does anyone have an update on that? If he’s solid, then I think the chance of landing Uriah is verrry strong! That’s a tight family!

Tide Roll, I get a chuckle out of your posts. You make it sound as if GA purposely rejects certain O linemen. Devine makes it pretty clear that he is not interested in GA, how can that be GA’s fault. Heck if we used your logic we could just pick wichever linemen we wanted. Even though we get possibly the #1 rated OL in the last recruiting class (Theus), and very possibly the #1 OL in this recruiting class (Tunsil) they somehow do not know how to recruit linemen. I agree we have had a lot of bad luck with OL recruits once they commit, but IMHO they have had some great recruits along the OL that for some reason or the other have just not panned out. Maybe, they should just hire you to run their Offensive line for them, what ya say?

Henry will be a beast, but depth at RB might change his mind. Could be another Wilder situation…best fit at LB, but set on playing RB. And will only go where a featured RB is needed. RB by committee at UGA next few years, barring any significant injuries. But would love to see him between the hedges.

Cardiello

Kublanow

here is tide roll, the Tech fan’s philosophy about recruiting

1.)Georgia coaches are racist
2.)If a black OL recruit commits somewhere other than UGA, see #1
3.)Only black OL should be allowed to play at UGA

Despite the fact that 70% of the UGA team is black, tide roll continues with his idiotic baseless rant.

I thought Tech people were supposed to be smart?

tide roll’s knowledge of offensive linemen can be summed up in this statement from last fall before the season started

“This will be UGA’s best OL in the history of the program.”

You know why he said that?

Because Glenn and Anderson were starting and both are black

The stupidity is at an alltime high constantly with tide roll. He has no rival

Dawginlex: if you take the walk on offered scholarships away UGA is 85% or more black scholarship players. If you take away the white walk on scholarships offered UGA would be in NCAA trouble for not meeting academic results and progress, we have to maintain a certain degree of these to keep from being in trouble academically. You should know that.

Will someone post the ” link ” to the on campus recruiter job. Mark Richt should be the UGA Sunday Head Coach, then someone else handle Monday through Saturday.

DawginLex, Not saying I agree or disagree with tide roll but I think his point is that black offensive lineman are more athletically gifted than white offensive lineman. With the opposing DE’s and LB’s being such physical freaks the good teams need the athletic lineman. One of the scouts says there is no way Theus plays tackle for UGA because he is not athletic enough. If so UGA will have the same problem as last year. A bunch of guards and no true tackles to protect Aaron Murray. I hope some of these other lineman turn out to be true tackles. Kublanow, Cardiello, and the other kid are guards or centers. UGA needs tackles.

@Baddog:

Will not debate the scout about Theus but the true fact of the matter is as long as Mark Richt forces Aaron Murray on the team no improvement will be seen. A Murray is so easy to defend that opposing coaches brag on him to help him keep the QB job at UGA.

bad dawg

The white OL at Bama, Barrett Jones, flies in the face of tide roll’s racist theory that white OL from private Christian schools can’t play in the SEC

It’s all crap. The NFL is loaded with white OL. Look at the kids from Cal and Stanford and Wisconsin in the NFL that just got drafted.
