Georgia Tech has picked up its second commitment for 2013 – and he’s also a running back.
Donovan Wilson pledged to Georgia Tech on Tuesday night. Wilson is a 3-star running back from Dublin, Ohio, and also boasted offers from Purdue, Boston College, Ohio and Air Force.

The 6-foot, 215-pounder made an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech last month, finally got a scholarship offer from the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, and committed three hours later.
“This was the offer I had been waiting on,” Wilson told the AJC. “I went through my practices, thought about it hard, talked to my parents, and made the decision to commit.”
Why Georgia Tech? “Good academics and good football – they compete for the ACC championship every year,” Wilson said. “And it’s a ‘running back school’ and that’s what I like to do. I’ve always watched them and respected them.”
Georgia Tech’s other commitment is at the same position – RB Travis Custis of Lovejoy High School.
Back to Wilson: He is projected to play A-Back but might eventually move to B-Back. He’s got a 3.2 core GPA and wants a career in nutrition. His older brother signed a football scholarship with Iowa this past February.
The Yellow Jackets project to sign 14-15 recruits for its 2013 class, according to coach Paul Johnson.

Great news for the Jackets. This seems like another big A-back, which is great for the Jackets. We are getting bigger and stronger at A-back and WR, which will only help this offense. CPJ is making small changes to this offense that others probably don’t even see. I am very excited about the future of GT football.

WOW!!! For 2013, GT has 2 maybes who are clearly waiting on a better offer. Both are RBs which indicate real O-Line guys do not want to be classified as GT knee divers. Chop Block U is in real trouble (with the antiquated offense they run)…real FBS contenders avoid the TO like the plague. I smell smoke in the ghetto. CPJ could go 0 for 25 in recruits in 2013. Embarrassing or what?
