The tech-savvy coach is trying his best to court UGA's QB of the future (AP)
Nick Saban hasn’t given up on flipping UGA’s QB of the future.
The Alabama coach and Brice Ramsey spent 90 minutes talking over Skype on Wednesday, a family member confirmed.
Ramsey, the rising senior quarterback at Camden County High School, committed to UGA last summer over Florida, Florida State and Clemson, among others.
Alabama, Ohio State, Florida and other schools have continued to recruit Ramsey in hopes of changing his mind.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Ramsey could not be reached for comment on Wednesday by the AJC but has repeatedly told reporters that he remains committed to UGA.
UPDATE: Rivals analyst Keith Niebuhr tweeted this on Thursday:
Sounds like #Alabama is the only real threat to #UGA for QB commit Brice Ramsey, who told me, “If’s it’s not Georgia, it’ll be Alabama.”

Don’t shame Saban. The issue isn’t that Saban is recruiting committed Ga. Bulldogs. The question “is Ga aggressively recruiting Alabama’s prized recruits.

7576DAWG….I find it funny that recruits who don’t even come to play at Alabama, when asked about Coach Saban, always say he sells Alabama and doesn’t have to down talk another school to get players. You can make up all the BS you want but if you knew what you were talking about, it would make you sound smarter. I am not saying none of our coaches make negative comments about another school but do me a favor, quit acting like UGA coaches don’t do the same. I can tell you for a fact that Grantham and Garner both tried to down talk Alabama to Geno Smith and that is coming from a friend of mine who is a coach at St. Pius. Stop with the holier than thou crap. Some of your guys are starting to sound like AU fans.

He was on a visit to Georgia, and committed in person. Not sure if that was his “official” recruiting visit, or if that was your point. I think they all aught to go check out a few campuses, especially early, until such time that it’s just interfering with your host’s crunch time.

saban: hey brice, how’s it going?
ramsey: hey coach.
saban: hey, you still committed to UGA?
ramsey: yes coach….for the 100th time…i’m still committed to uga
saban: so, this skype thing is pretty cool, uh?
ramsey: anything specific you want to talk about coach?
saban: did you know that i have a residence in GA?
ramsey: coach, i’ve got to go…more important things to do than chat about nothing.
saban: hang-on, i need to try and talk to you for another 89 min

Georgia wants him at running back

Dawg….Henry is another guy we aren’t really worried about. You are right, he is not a RB if he comes to BAMA but would be a heck of a LB. However, LB is not a huge position of need for us right now. Don’t get me wrong, we would take him if he wanted to come. We should be fine at LB with Foster and Nkimdiche.

What does UGA have to sale? 1980 what? You beat nobody and get beat by somebody over and over! Richt and your staff have to negative recruit against Alabama and you do it well but it doesn’t matter whether the QB comes or goes because Alabama under Saban will be topshelf and you will be on on level one…as usual. UGA …the best football team in America from March until August! It’s your tradition.

60 minutes with Saban.
That was such a long phone call, the power drain probably dimmed the lights in the whole state of Alabama..that would be awful..people couldnt even see there way back to the trailer park.

It’s a setup. Bama wants the better QB of the two: ANTHONY JENNINGS of Marietta. He outperformed Ramsey along with 89 other QB(s)! to win the regional
Elite 11 competition, and head for the finals in Los Angeles. It’s a travesty to the kid that UGA hasn’t even offered. He’s actually a legacy., His father Willie actually played at Georgia. This is the kid Saban really wants. He sent Lance Thompson to the school last week. Only Richt, Booboo and UGA could screw this up. Y’all really do suck.

If the Atlanta papers are not going to give adequate coverage to the Jennings kid, then at least have the guts to reprint the article about him that appeared in the Marietta paper. It details haw he played the entire year with a cartilage tear. his rehab, his intelligence, TRENT DILFER’S ravings about him, and the fact that he wasn’t 100% and STILL WON THE DAMN THING. What does it take Richt? What does is take Booboo? What does it take UGA Fans? There’s only one reason the kid hasn’t been offered and you all know what it is. Yours is truly a SICK program. Needs to be fumigated from top to bottom. YUK.

Wrong. Ramsey has played in a mostly running system and every coach says that he has the most upside when he gets under college coaching. Why you think that Saban and Urban Meyer are chasing after him? They know he’s got the talent and the most upside. He finished in the top 6 and he’s from a running offense.

kerryb, how is Alabama, a school in the bottom quarter of the SEC with Ole Miss and Miss State in ACT scores, even close to UGA, a school that lags only behind Vanderbilt and Florida and just about dead even with Auburn in ACT scores, GPA, etc? What kind of Alabama math is that, the same kind that makes you think you have 14 national championships in football?

Derrick Henry will not go to Alabama or GA. I see Derrick Henry signing with South Carolina at this time, may surprise with Tennessee
Kamara will be at Alabama, the words describing Kamara ( reminds everyone of Barry Sanders )

Per Keith Niebuhr of Rivals
Here’s what I know:
-Brice says he’s firm to the Dawgs but is keeping all options open.
-He enjoyed talking to Saban. Said he was funny and cool.
-Saban also used the Skype session to get to know Brice’s parents.
-Saban explained the QB situation at Bama to Brice, and Brice told me that it is definitely appealing.
-Saban also apparently talked about the Tide tradition and had a ton of stats for Brice.
-Ramsey and his parents plan to visit Tuscaloosa sometime in June.
