Nick Glass, one of the state’s top prospects for 2014, committed to UGA on Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-1, 202-pound safety from St. Pius said he picked UGA over football scholarship offers from Georgia Tech and Auburn, among his 15 offers.
“It felt like home … why not help out the home school?” Glass told the AJC.
After only signing 19 players last February, UGA is off to a fast start for the next two years. The Bulldogs have nine commitments for 2013, and two for 2014, with RB Stanley Williams of George Walton Academy being the other sophomore sensation.
ESPN’s Dawg Nation’s Kipp Adams: “Nick Glass is an above-average athlete that already possesses great size for safety. While there is a possibility he could grow into a linebacker, Nick is one of those players you have to sign and get … You worry about his position later.”
Glass has the potential to be just as good as Geno Smith, the AJC Super 11 cornerback from St. Pius who signed with Alabama. Glass visited Alabama last week and said the Crimson Tide “was close” to offering.
