From this weeks story:
“I’m still committed to Vanderbilt but … it’s just a tight race between Vanderbilt and Georgia right now,” Dawson told the AJC on Sunday night. “I’d say they are both on top. I’m just going to have to weigh my options out. I’m going to make my final decision on where I’m going to sign on Feb.1.”
This is my least favorite part of HS and College football – to most “Commitment” is meaningless. It just means “Save me a scholarship unless I find something better before I sign”. The Coaches are just as bad – sign as many as you can to keep them from signing with another school, then sort out the mess with Gray Shirts and encouraged transfers.
The kid gets his 5 minutes of fame playing with hats on the table, but it’s not very pretty -

Not sure when the last time you were on Vandy’s campus, but unfortunately in the coed department, they have you beat from a ratio standpoint. Not an ugly girl on Peabody and they are all intelligent or rich! This coming from someone married to a UGA girl…

If UGA can add Young (OT) and Patterson (WR) to this class then they have put together another Dream Team. JHC was a big pickup for the Dawgs! After Young and Patterson sign with UGA, then we need to start working on Foster and Nkemdiche for 2013! Go Dawgs!

Like our season our recruiting is all about getting the ones we are supposed to get and not winning on the big ones. No one is flipping to UGA. It’s not going to be a historic signing and this is not the Ring Team.
