WR Andrej Suttles makes up for size with speed at East Paulding

WR Andrej Suttles (247sports.com)

WR Andrej Suttles (247sports.com)

This is part of a series looking at some of the state’s most underrated college football prospects (all high school seniors) over the next few weeks:

Player: Andrej Suttles

Position: WR, 5-10, 180

High School: East Paulding

College choice: Committed to Furman

Scouting report from Rusty Mansell of 247sports: Smaller type wide receiver that gets in and out breaks very quickly. Dangerous kick returner and ability to stretch the field as a receiver. Catches the ball out front with his hands and not his body.

They said it: “I think he was the best player we played against this year. I have watched the (CJ Curry) kid up at Flowery Branch and I have seen (Jaquay Williams) at Sandy Creek. He is not big and tall like them, but I think he is overall a more dynamic receiver than they are. He is an explosive playmaker, than can beat you on special teams as a return guy too.” South Paulding coach Tim Glanton

Do you know of a potential D1 senior prospect who is being overlooked? Post his information below.

And, thanks for giving these articles about the recruits who might ‘fall through the cracks’ of the major recruiting services!!

Go Paladins. Furman is a great campus and you will get a quality education…..and who knows….get to come to a SEC campus on a Saturday afternoon to help earn your new school a bunch of money….of which little will go to you.

A green card isn’t green, but why would a citizen need one?

Jordan Landry – ATH/DB/RB – Tucker

Did stellar work on both sides of the ball for Tigers, a true ironman who plays bigger than his size.

Reggie Owens and Freddie Burden at Statesboro. Reggie is a linebacker that is 6′2″ and moves like a cat. Freddie is a Line man who will grow into a great inside lineman at the next level. They both are getting some looks, but they are flying low under the radar.

Why do guys like this always come under the radar at div 1A schools? Have to say the young man deserves more scrutiny than he’s gotten. Good luck at Furman , you’ll do well for yourself in their program.

Hey Mike,
(Not talking about this article specifically, just saying this hear cause I know nobody’s reading this article), why don’t you go ahead and just link ugasports.com in all of your articles. Seeing as the content every single one of your legitimate recruiting columns comes directly from the articles and blogs from this website. I think I speak for everybody when I say we’d like a reporter who actually comes up with original and insightful information. Reading the same exact information (often word for word) from the two websites is in no way engaging what-so-ever. And it’s not just me; ask anybody who has a subscription to this website. Would be interested to hear your response. Thanks.

I have known this young man for years. Not only is he an extremely talented athlete, but he also preforms in the classroom too. A combination like that is very rare these days.

Why must you turn this into something negative??? If you have a “personal problem” with the writer, this is not the time or the place to do it. I’m not sure why you referenced athletes falling through the recruiting services cracks … but this young man has not been covered in the recruiting circuit this year and the beloved Georgia wouldn’t even look at him because of his size so he CERTAINLY hasn’t been covered in the ugasports.com column you referenced. Get a life people! This whole series is concentrating on the kids that don’t get all the looks because they aren’t SEC or ACC committed yet. The recruiting circuit covers THE SAME KIDS over and over … its about time they start covering kids that deserve it.

You don’t have a “subscription” to Michael’s column or the AJC website. It’s open for reading or commenting for any fool (such as yourself) who bothers to log in.

Stick to Ugasports.com or whatever, and stop wasting your time bitching about a professional trying to do his job.

This is a good intentioned feature but I wish it was fleshed out more. I would like an interview with the kid. Ask him who is recruiting him, what he’s looking for in a school, what his thoughts are on moving to the next level, what does he think he brings to the table, etc.

Kelvin Cameron, Jr is a WR/RB out of Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, GA. He is 5′8, 170, not that big but plays bigger then what he. Kelvin is explosive and a playmaker.

As a matter of fact, all of Hillgrove senior football players are being overlooked (this is my opinion).

Outstanding to see these great young athletes get some limelight, however I just wish southern GA could get some limelight too. There is not a city close to the size of Atl, down here. However there are so fine athletes down this way.
