This is part of a series looking at some of the state’s most underrated college football prospects (all high school seniors) over the next few weeks:

Player: Eric Bridges

Position: Athlete, 6-foot-1, 188 pounds

High School: Troup County

College choice: Undecided

Scouting report from Rusty Mansell of 247sports: Bridges did not play his junior season and played QB for Troup this past season. Has good size and very athletic with the ball in his hands. Has an above average arm and could project as a safety on next level.

They said it: “He is a playmaker that brings a lot to the table offensively that throws the ball very well. He is just as dangerous when he runs. You think that you have the play stopped and he breaks a tackle or makes a throw in a big situation. He is just a big-time playmaker.” Callaway coach Pete Wiggins

Do you know of a potential D1 senior prospect who is being overlooked? Post his information below.

Preston Mobley #76 Colquitt Co.. Just watch the replay of the Colquitt/ Grayson game. The number one rated defensive end in the state has one tackle. Seen gettting up off the ground five to six times.

Pilfer Dawg, I’d think most Georgia and Georgia Tech fans, if they have any conference championship and/or national championship contention aspirations for their teams, would have at least some interest in keeping up with what other teams in their conferences are doing.

DP – Neither school is in state and the kid you’re talking about isn’t a state of GA product either. I see your point about keeping up with the Joneses, but this is meant to be a local recruiting blog.

A dime a dozen…..Come’on. There are kids like this all over the state of GA. The D1 schools know who’s-who and they dont miss people very often. Provide us with some real recruiting stories. What is Josh Harvey-Clemons leading school? When will he make a decision? Where is Jenkins leaning at this time? Write about good athletes that are in the spotlight, however havent committed. Be a recruting writier, not a part-time recruiting blogger……We demand more, your giving less. Guess this is why 247Sports, Rivals and Scout all charge me……

where is the list of schools who have offered him / are showing interest in him? because if you’re affiliated with any particular college team (like myself with UGA), this means nothing to you unless your school is interested in the kid…

Too many kids get overlooked. If a kid does not have a good support system in place they get ignored. There have been 59 FBS all Americans the past 5 seasons who were 3 star players or lower. Of those 59 there were 26 that were 2 stars or lower.

Some of the comments on this blog are downright silly. What in the world is wrong with giving exposure to kids who have worked hard, have talent and have been successful?

Roscoe Byrd of Albany High School. Go look this kid up he is a monster and was pretty impressive at the Marc Richt Camp, however UGA already had there DL offers maxed. He is committed to UAB cause of playing time, but the Gators are calling hard for him lately, he is a beast.

Kelvin Cameron, Jr. plays WR/RB for Hillgrove High School, a quality student with great morals and values. He is not that big but plays with a huge heart ( 5′8, 170), the few camps he attended, he was very impressive so if anyone knows of colleges wanting a gem, send them to Hillgrove.

WR Christian Cumberlander of Troup County is definetly underrated. He has a huge upside and ability to make plays in the passing game and in the run game by blocking on the perimeter. He was just hurt by the type of offense he was established in, but over the summer he showed pure domination against some of the top competition over the summer and put up pretty good numbers this season. He’s certainly a D1 caliber player that will be a steal for some program.

Da’Stankius MacJones is way underrated for a 5′ 3″ 115 lb. left tackle. He has has an 8 foot wingspan that really keeps those DE’s off the QB. This kid is the bomb!

Troup HS is producing some players as of late. Everyone knows Reusben Foster, the Alalbama verbal commit, Bridges is a good player, their kicker Jordan Vann is a legend with his 82 yard punt this season. Hope to see more great players coming out of this program.

David Williams #5 Woodland H.S. Stockbridge, Ga Dual Threat QB/CB/KR accounted for over 3,899 yds and 41 TD’S (2009-2011) passing, rushing, kick returns and receiving. 3 year starter that led his team to the state in 2009 at the QB position. Moved to multiple positions for very questionable reasons yet thrived at every position he was asked to play. A team player that has been under the radar but will be a good prospect that will do well at whatever university he lands. Listed at 5-10 182 wants to play slot receiver or cornerback at the next level. Posted the fastest 40 time (4.48) at team camp. He ran the same time at Ole Miss Camp last summer. You can see his highlight tape on youtube- http://www.youtube/DavidWilliams#5-ATH C OF 2012/. A high character kid who has qualified academically. Recruiting situation is starting to pick up.
