Tony Parker leads Miller Grove in ESPN game

Several of the nation’s top college basketball prospects will be on display when Miller Grove plays Virginia’s Oak Hill on ESPN.

The game will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Morehouse College.

Miller Grove is the three-time defending Class AAAA state champion and ranked No. 2 in the nation by ESPN.

Miller Grove is led by Tony Parker, the 6-foot-9, 285-pounder who is ranked among the nation’s top 25 overall college basketball prospects. Parker is undecided among Duke, Ohio State and UCLA, among others.

Parker’s teammate at Miller Grove, swingman Brandon Morris, has signed with UGA.

Oak Hill is 16-0 and led by a pair of former Atlanta area stars, Jordan Adams (signed with UCLA) and Damien Wilson (Memphis), along with D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Georgetown), Tyler Lewis (NC State) and AJ Hammons (Purdue). Former Rockdale County standout Darion Clark (UNC-Charlotte) also plays for Oak Hill.

Miller Grove is 6-0 after edging out Southwest DeKalb 57-53 in overtime last week.

Admission for the game is $10, and tickets are available in advance at www.ticketweb.com or at Miller Grove High School.

I am sick and tired of all of these kids being raised in Georgia all of their life and not going to the Georgia school! How about for once, be the kids that put the Georgia Teams on Top! Because when they go to Duke, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Kentucky! At then end of the day you just another great recruit! Nothing more after you leave the program. SMH!!!

And Oh Yeah! I have no respect for the highschools that are allowed to recruit outside of their local school districts and call themself powerhouse! You should be a powerhouse when you have an all-star selection method!!!!

Miller Grove will have to be very focused and fired up to defeat the Oak Hill Academy (VA) National Traveling All-Stars. This game shouldn’t count a legitimate contest.

This some BS! Miller Grove is truly a real Highschool team! Oakhill play on the road because they only have 150 students. The Home Games would be awful!! They are just a travelin AAU Team! This should be against the law!!!!!

@ me the irrelevant commenter; You should know by now that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. “Jordan Adams” has something more called TALENT, and SKILL. It was a game not a fashion show, and no matter what he added to his team winning. People like you who are superficial lets society twist your thinking. Plus I’m sure you’re not perfect either. By the way, some NBA players have made it big not being a string bean, and 7ft.

Contrary to popular belief; Oak Hill Academy is a expensive private college preparatory School. Therefore, most parents in these tough economic times could not afford to send their kids. Plus they do travel which makes it more difficult for them to adapt and adjust to another gym setting and the people of that town to motivate or cheer for them. It would be easier on them if they played all there games in their familiar hometeam gym that they practice at. That’s why when you are recruited to go to Oak Hill you have special talent. Dat’s why Atlanta Hawks “Josh Smith” was there on Oak Hill side because he went there too. So when you graduate from Oak hill you are already a sophomore early junior in college. Now U stand Corrected!!
