Will Alabama LB commit make surprise visit to UGA this weekend?

Will Alabama LB commit Dillon Lee make a surprise official visit to UGA this weekend?

It’s one of the hottest topics on message boards, and there are legitimate reasons for the speculation:

The AJC Super 11 linebacker from Buford High School is the younger brother of UGA offensive lineman Dallas Lee. The younger Lee has gone with his parents (both longtime UGA fans) to just about every Bulldogs game this season to see his brother play, even after Dallas broke his leg in October.

While at the games, Dillon has had the chance to build a relationship with UGA’s coaches, including Mark Richt. For the record, Dillon says he’s committed to Alabama.

This is UGA’s biggest recruiting weekend of the year. Will Lee make an appearance in Athens? His mother told the AJC on Thursday that it won’t be decided until after Buford plays in the Class AA state championship on Friday.

Lee is staying focused on helping Buford win its fifth championship in a row. You can watch the game at 4:30 p.m. Friday on Georgia Public Television

This would be a great recruit for us.

Hope he does decide to attend this weekend’s recruiting event and that he does decide to sign with UGA and play with his brother.

Though I’m certain his parents want Dillon to make the decision that he feels is best for HIM, I’m also certain both they and Dallas would like to see him play for UGA.

Whatever your decision, Dillon, best wishes to you in the classroom and on the gridiron.

Hope to see you wearing the Red-and-Black when you play in Sanford Stadium. .. Go Dawgs!

I really think Dillon will end up being a Dawg. Playing in Tuscaloosa will put a huge burden on the family. Imagine you have 2 sons playing Div. 1 football on the same day 250 miles apart 9 out of 12 weekends? I sure this will be a tough decision.

This is a tough spot for this kid. Big brother at UGA, parents avid Dawg fans, and the people around him probably trying to push him to Athens. Bottomline, the kid will do what his heart tells him in the end. I have a feeling that will be Bama. Hope not.

How does he know that he wont be a victim of Saban’s oversigning one day? Say at home and be a home state hero. UGA has the nicest college town and a very up and coming team.

Get playing time at UGA instead of attending the University of Oversigning. Either way, do what you want and best of luck in your career.

Smart told me last night Georgia has approached him to take the head coaching position for the Dawgs. He said it was a demotion but since Richt is going to Texas A.M. and taking Crowell and choakdawg it was the least he could do.

Oh well after Michigan State puts 50 on the dawgs he might re-consider.

Good point about oversigning. Right now his brother would be in jeopardy of losing a scholarship at bama. Coach Richt sticks with you through thick and thin. Just ask Trinton Sturdivant and Albert Hollis II.

After Saban gets shut down for his numerous recruiting violations, recruits will be leaving in droves.

Just a matter of time before the NCAA catches him and shuts him down and exposes him for what he is.

Saban, they must have some good “stuff” down there in Techwood. Be careful, lots of crime in that area. And your worse fear should be that Coach Fishfry and Al Mathuzala stay.

Old Boy

I have a feeling he is still Bama-bound, which I hope works out for him. If he gets caught in the over-signing situation, I hope he makes it very public. Until these young athletes hear about it from people they know, they won’t worry about over-signing threats. Screwing over a Buford-boy would definitely hurt Bama recruiting in that area.

Forgive the comment not pertaining to this blog, but I want to congratulate the Gators on their Christmas present with Charlie Weisss leaving. Surprisingly that guy was just as predictable as Bobo.

Definitly need to beef up the O-Line.Where do we stand with LB’s? I thought we were pretty stout there. Still, Lee would be a great addition. However, I don’t believe he will change his mind. My guess is that he wants to make a name for himself, nothing wrong with that, and by going to Bama he gets that chance.

I knew Florida was in trouble when even I knew what play they were running next. Have a feeling that they are going to get emabarrased by Ohio State in their bowl because of the mess Weiss put them in.
I always pull for the all SEC teams in bowls. Gator’s don’t pull an Arky and lose to OSU… The only good Buckeye is a quiet one. Let’s keep it that way!

Be a hometown guy, Dillon!

You may have been promised many things by a red nosed Saint Nick, but he is really the underhanded and oversigning Nick Satan, who when he is interviewed on TV always looks into the camera every 5 seconds. Creepy, as in not genuine.

Dap01 or any of you UGA braintrusts over here…..I pose this question with regards to oversigning and roster management. Please give me the name of ONE….JUST ONE…Alabama player who was let go from the Alabama football team for something other than an injury or discipline problem. My guess is none of you will be able to do so. The oversigning/roster management has become a nice excuse for you guys in watching Saban out recruit Richt every single year. We may not get all the players we want from the state of GA but we get a few here and there. GA has great talent but in 2009 we won a NC with maybe 2 contributors from the state of GA. This year we are playing for it again and we have guess how many contributors from the state of GA? Thats right…2. You guys get all the great GA talent every year yet havent sniffed a national title in over 30 years. Enjoy watching all the GA talent in the outback bowl!!

Let’s see… 4 years at Alabama and likely 3 or 4 years of playing either for SEC championship or BCS championship.

5 years at Georgia and lot’s of exciting wins over Vandy and Kentucky, and maybe a once in a decade top finish in a weak weak SEC east.

“Hard choice” only for someone with an IQ less than 80.

He will be a bulldog. He makes sure that everyone knows when he comes up to Athens he isnt just there to be with his family and watch his brother, but that he is there as a UGA recruit. This was magnified by him still coming to the games even after his brother got hurt.

Mark it down this kid will be a bulldog.

SECIsFootball, how many does he have stashed at JUCOs and Prep schools waiting to see if they can make the grade? Hmmmm? How many sign and place kids are waiting to see if they can play for the Great Satan?

And injury and discipline dismissals can be quite arbitrary, i.e. Jarvis Jones.

ahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha are u kidding me??? So ur trying to say that he doesnt oversign and that none of the recruits get the shaft???? HOW DUMB ARE YOU?????????

It is common knowledge for SEC fans that he does oversign and kids dont end up getting to play. As for out recruiting Richt in Georgia, thats laughable at best. You get like 3-5 a year from Georgia period. And the only reason you have a few good ones this time is bc Richts job wasnt secure at the beg. of the season. Now that he is cemented as the HC again, you will see some of those recruits jump ship and come to UGA. Such as Lee who will be decommitting from Bammer and signing with UGA

True Dawg Fan…Like I said. You cannot answer my question. I dont deny he has oversigned classes even though last year he signed fewer than UGA. But come back to me when he is doing something illegal. There are no rules against it and like I said, name just ONE guy who was kicked off the team for something other than an injury or discipline issues. Name just one player who “got the shaft”.

Lee very well may flip to UGA. However, take a look at out LB class and tell me how bad it will hurt? He is a great player but if he is so disloyal to be committed to a team for over year and then leave because he is afraid of being away from home afraid to compete, then you can have. Looking at out 2 classes, you guys need him a hell of a lot more than we do!!

MusChump is lucky to be getting rid of Weiss…… now he won’t have to ask for extra help in the kitchen just to cook Weiss’s daily chow down. That boy is a load. With Weiss leaving Avery Young is leaning towards UGA and his official visit to UGA is coming this week. Theus and Young are rated the #2 & #3 OT’s in the country. UGA’s o-line next year will be very inexperienced but talented.

Not a single Georgia coach been approached with feelers for a HC job or to join a staff of a new HC. Interesting. This paper reported a few weeks ago that Grantham’s agent said he was getting calls about him……I’ll say it again. The biggest weakness at UGA football is assit. coach’s. We have the money to hire the best out there, but why we keep it ” comfortable” for Mark, I’ll never know.

DIT…..this year has proven that while you can be “stout” at LB, you can never have too many. Look at what the team went through in the LB corp this year – C. Robinson injured, missed 2 games; A. Olgetree injured, missed 7 games; C. Washington suspended, missed 2 games; M. Gillard injured, missed 2nd half of SECCG – and in all of those we had to use freshmen who had to get acclimated to the scheme and the occasional use of a walk-on because of a lack of depth. With the possibility of Kent Turene finally being cleared to play and a potential pickup of Dillon Lee, the LB core would get a nice boost in depth for next year.

Now with Dillon himself, this kid loves UGA and wanted to come here. However, the previous LB coach Warren Belin didn’t recruit him or like his style of LB. Once the change was made and Coach O came into the defense, he liked what he saw out of Dillon and got UGA to take a second look. Unfortunate for us is the kid has already committed to Bama and he, like his brother, is a great level headed kid who honors his word. It would take a good showing to him and a clear makeup for not recruiting him harder much earlier to get him to sway on his commitment. It is going to be tough, but at least we have his heart and his brother in our favor.

Lee would be great to have on the Dawgs. Class act. Game changer? Probably not but you never know because you can’t measure a guys heart. Playing at the linebacker position he would need a red shirt to add 20 lbs. See Crowell for example.
