What will Keith Marshall do?
We’ll find out sometime after 2:45 p.m. today when Marshall – who is ranked as the No. 1 RB in the nation by Scout.com – will pick between UGA, Clemson, Florida and South Carolina (You can also see if Marshall will drop any hints on Twitter by going here)
What will Keith Marshall do?
UGA has been considered the longtime frontrunner for Marshall, and Mark Richt left the SEC championship game with his RB coach for an in-home visit on Sunday night.
Then there’s those Clemson rumors that won’t go away. Actually, they are getting louder after Clemson got the last face-to-face meeting with Marshall on Monday, according to a report by 247Sports.com.
And if you haven’t eaten all of your Tums yet, one Scout.com reporter has predicted that Marshall will pick … Florida.
Why all of this drama now when February’s national signing day is so far away? Marshall is committing on Tuesday because he is enrolling early in college. He will start classes in January.
What will Keith Marshall do? Place your bets below.

Also, true Georgia fans are not bashing IC. We are rationale enough to understand he is young, and was thrust into a tough situation. He will grow up and do special things for us for the next 2-3 years.
That said, the losers that post on here bashing these kids are likely Tech nerds disguised as Dawgs, hoping these players will read their comments. Either that or their lives are really so pathetic that they relieve themselves by bashing 18 yr old kids from behind a computer screen.

Well said KINGDAWG. I love college football, I like UGA and Georgia Tech, but its getting past rediculous. Are some kids knuckleheads, yes they are. But we as people help them become bigger knuckleheads when we drool over them as teenagers, and then rip them apart when they mess up. Some of the kids deserve the criticism when they mess up, and some simply made a mistake, largely because they thought they were invisible becaused they are worshipped by many. I was a college athlete at a major university before, and I laughed at the way some grown people, well into their 30’s and 40’s, would get wide eyed and excited over a 19yr old football player. Its fanatic at its worst. They would do whatever for a star on a major football team. As long as we continue this, the athletes and programs will get worst. Everyone bares some blame though, the universities, the coaches, the recruiting services, and the parents, and the fans. These factors are the answers to your questions as to why the athletes do stupid things. Make the kid be humble and earn the accolades, as opposed to crowing him king upon arriving on campus, because thats what we are doing.

Congrats to Crowell on being SEC Freshman of the Year. Nice honor considering he only played part of the season. It recognizes his potential. Now he can live up to it. Marshall would be a nice addition to the backfield. He will have ample opportunity to perform. Good luck to Marshall wherver he chooses to go.

I do not have a proble with IC production, just his toughness. Early on he subbed out every other play due to conditioning. Then it was everytime he got hit he would act like he was injured. He would come back in and look fine until the next time he had a bad play and then he was injured again. When he did have good runs he would follow them up be running his mouth. Just run the ball hard, get up give the ball to the ref and go back to the hudle, and be thankfull for the oppurtunity you have be given.

I@Taco I am not saying some ppl take it to far, what I am saying is this is a sports blog, We talk sports on here. I am not claiming I am wiser than anyone on here, I have a lot of respect for my elders, just saying times change and Media will be there if “fans” talk about it or not.
Aside from that, Imagine this: IC, MArshall, Gurley, Boo. Great backfield there. We really need lineman and secondary.

Why don’t you utilize that 3.7 GPA to distinguish the direct object of your chastisement toward observer…
It’s a bit confusing as to whether you are directing “observer” toward a musical interlude or a television talk show host…
you might want to be a bit more careful before the subtle self exaltation puts you in a place where everyone has the privilege to see the personification of pride as it falls flat on its face

UGA has “enough” linemen, they are just young and most redshirted this past year. The line will be fine and might just be better. The guys who are leaving were Stacy Searels guys. The ones coming up have not had enough playing time in order to develop bad habits. Plus it looks as if UGA’s new philosophy will incorporate a more physical style, with more focus on the running game. You need something else going when receivers drop footballs and your defense has to make play after play after play (like an entire half) in order to keep you in football games.

He has Clemson, USC, Georgia and Florida, and each was in to visit him last week. Clemson was first up with coach Dabo Swinney and assistants. Florida coach Will Muschamp visited with Marshall on Thursday. Friday it was USC running backs coach Jay Graham, and Sunday Georgia coach Mark Richt met with Marshall and his family. Marshall’s mother, Denise, said the decision is still a work in progress. “We are perplexed and waiting for Keith to give us an answer. He’s got four contenders. They all have exceptional business programs.”
Denise Marshall said she’s heard the talk about Georgia being the favorite, but she said her son has given no indication of that. She said her son will not disclose his decision to any of the teams until he reveals it today.

@Observer, if you don’t like college football/recruiting, then please go somewhere else. As a former college football prospect, you obviously have no idea how awesome it is to sit down in front of your friends, family, and teammates and pick where you want to go to school and play sports. It is big thing in these young people’s lives and something they’ll never forget. Going to college for free is a HUGE accomplishment. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

PK Nick St. Germain of Marietta, Ga., attended the Clemson-USC game on an unofficial visit. He also was at USC for the Florida game. The Gamecocks continue to show interest, and he is hoping for an offer at some point, though he knows USC’s numbers are tight. He has offers from South Alabama, Georgia Southern and Middle Tennessee. He’s also drawing interest from Georgia Tech. He said he’s not in the position to walk-on and would not be interested in doing that

I know you hate to report it on AJC, BUT I’m waiting for your article stating UGA’s basketball recruit from Milton, Charles Mann, has to sit out his senior year and Milton has to forfeit all wins from this season so far. Why, the public is asking? Because of the illegal living situation where he was living in an apartment by himself, and his entire family was still living at his old high school district, including his siblings. Milton Dad-where ya at??? Blue Devil haters-where ya at??

SLYDOG I AGREE WITH WHAT YOU’RE SAYING IT WAS UNFAIR FOR THE MEDIA TO AND I KNOW YOU DID’NT SAY THE MEDIA BUT I’M SAYING IT. IT WAS UNFAIR FOR THE MEDIA TO MAKE ISIAH CROWELL THE SAVIOR OF THIS PROGRAM AND IT WAS. DON’T GET ME NO WRONG CROWELL HAD A GOOD FRESHMAN YEAR. I MEAN THE KID WAS FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR IN THE SEC BUT THAT WAS UNFAIR AND ALSO IT’S UNFAIR FOR THE MEDIA TO DO THE SAME WITH KEITH MARSHALL IF HE COMMITS TO UGA TODAY. THE REASON THAT UGA WENT 10-3 AND WON THE SEC EAST WAS BECAUSE OF THE ENTIRE TEAM DON’T GET NO WRONF CROWELL WAS A PRODUCTIVE PLAYER BUT IT WAS A TEAM EFFORT AND IT WILL BE THE SAME MARSHALL COMES ON BOARD.

Ladies, ladies…this team was expected to go around 8-4. It was said many of times that our running game was in the hands of a true freshman (which it was). If I had told you that this team was going to play win 10 games, play LSU, and Crowell would get Freshan of the Year honors you all would’ve either jumped for joy or called me crazy.
Bottom line: This team exceeded expectations. Crowell showed flashes of greatness. He also showed signs that he needs to grow up a little.
What 18 yr old college freshman doesn’t have some growing up to do???

We need to add some depth at RB as well as some other positions. Landing Marshall would be great, no doubt but it does not make or break our season (unless Crowell is given his walking papers as I have heard rumored). Samuel was looking more comfortable right about the time he got hurt. If we don’t sign Marshall, go get Gurley. Find me a kid who will work his butt off. Hell put 25 pounds on Harton, that kid has a ton of heart!!

These young guys should be thankful for the opportunity to get a free education at a top notch university like UGA. They shouldn’t hold press conferences to announce their decision. They should humbly call the head coach to tell him they will attend. And if I were a coach and a player turned his back on me, he would be disciplined harshly. It’s about control. Who has it- the head coach or the players? IC would have never gotten away with that from Saban, Spurrier, Muschamp etc. They would have been too afraid to do something so disrespectful.

This is in NO WAY a bash on marshall but what makes him so special. Based on the few videos i saw on youtube doesnt impress me alot. Is there more that i dont know? He may indeed be a great back… i was just wondering what makes him so great as to be the #1 rb in nation. He may do great here at uga but we still need that 230lb plus back to soften up the line a little with hard punishing hits!! Thats how SEC football should be played.

UGA gets Marshall and already have a commit from Derrick Henry for next year, the number one junior running back in the country. That will make the number one back 3 years in a row. Marshall is a Reggie Bush type, runs a 4.3 and Henry is compared to Eric Dickerson, he’s 6-3 230 and runs a low 4.4 forty.

Number 1, Laura McKeeman would do in a pinch. Number 2, Laura the scout babe works for a variety of Florida-loving sites.
Isaiah would make a darn good backup. With Marshall as “the guy”, Crowell can come in sparingly and give it his best effort for 8 plays a game, which he apparently wants to do. I personally think Isaiah will leave school pouting within a month, if UGA gets Marshall. Someone will talk him into quitting.
