Tick, tock … What will Keith Marshall do?

What will Keith Marshall do?

We’ll find out sometime after 2:45 p.m. today when Marshall – who is ranked as the No. 1 RB in the nation by Scout.com – will pick between UGA, Clemson, Florida and South Carolina (You can also see if Marshall will drop any hints on Twitter by going here)

What will Keith Marshall do?

UGA has been considered the longtime frontrunner for Marshall, and Mark Richt left the SEC championship game with his RB coach for an in-home visit on Sunday night.

Then there’s those Clemson rumors that won’t go away. Actually, they are getting louder after Clemson got the last face-to-face meeting with Marshall on Monday, according to a report by 247Sports.com.

And if you haven’t eaten all of your Tums yet, one Scout.com reporter has predicted that Marshall will pick … Florida.

Why all of this drama now when February’s national signing day is so far away? Marshall is committing on Tuesday because he is enrolling early in college. He will start classes in January.

What will Keith Marshall do? Place your bets below.

Look, I would LOVE Keith Marshall to join UGA, it would make my Finals week better. However, Crowell will be fine guys. What does this show Mr.Marshall? One up and down season and the UGA fam. is done with him? I still support you Crowell. I am more concerned about the losses of Jones, Glenn, and Boykin….who will replace them?

Everyone wonders why these kids get to college and there primadonas and whiners and spoiled rotten, and dont like to work for anything. Its because you all crown them gods and kings before they even graduate from their fourth period class and step foot on a college campus. Its sad to see where our once great, rational country has become. Whats even more sad is a bunch of grown men sittting around and savoring over where a 17 or 18 year old kid is gonna play football. Its sickening. And then when these kids get to the school and play their first college game, and they dont rush for 500 yards in the first game, you call them a bust because they dont live up to your expectations. These kids will continue to look for handouts and not work hard because the athletic departments, the coaches, and even some of their parents have labeled them kings before they have accomplished anything. And then when they get to college and face adversity they dont know how to handle it. Its sad and college athletics have become a joke. A teenage kid doesnt need a ceremony to announce where he will go to college. What happen to calling the coach and saying “hey, im coming to your school”, and thats it.

Amateurism, I do not think it will play a major role, I think there are turncoat “fans” for every team.
Say Whut- Crowell will be a star, but if we get Marshall/Gurley, I can see a Ingram/Richardson type duo….except with way more speed, lol.

I say to the people who crapped on Crowell, an 18 year old who was wrongly put into a position of savior for a mediocre program, and who are now waiting on Keith Marshall as the next savior, you need to get a life, seriously. What on earth makes any of you think Marshall will somehow take UGA to the next level? That’s the job of the Head Coach. It is the job of the Head Coach to win regardless of injuries, depth, or talent at a particular position. People like to talk about how Keith Marshall has no dreds. Well, Chris Conley has dreds. Have you heard him speak or give an interview? How do you know if Marshall is not as ghetto as Crowell?…lmao. I would love for Marshall to come to Georgia, not to save the RB position, but to add his talents to an already talented group of players. He will also not have the pleasure (and the pressure) of knowing the starting job is his to lose. Think about it folks. We (the Dawg Nation) asked an 18 year old to put an entire program on his back. That’s like asking your son to raise the family instead of the parents.. SMDH.. Some rise to the occasion, some don’t. In all, do not wait on Marshall to save anything. He can only add to what’s already there. Even if it’s nothing there.

In today’s “everybody gets a cookie” atmosphere, I believe freshman should not be allowed to play their first year. At least with the upperclassmen. Let them play a freshman schedule like the old days. The rite of passage to becoming a man has been lost.

As a running back I think that Crowell did great this year. Very few running back’s don’t red shirt their first year. The position is so important in the SEC and the pressure associated with the position is so great most coaches chose to red shirt their freshmen running back’s. Georgia was desperate for running back help. Even Herschel Walker didn’t start his Freshman year until the Tennessee game.
If nothing else was learned this year it should have been we don’t need just one great running back. We need a stable for. They will all get plenty of carries in the SEC with running back being the key focus and having a balance offense. What you have to avoid is what South Carolina had the last two years , no depth at running back and you have to over use the ONE you have to the point he get’s hurt.
Bottom line :Along with Crowell who has the potential of being a great running back, we need Marshall and maybe one more very good bigger running back recruit in 2012.

I just hope that if Marshall picks UGA he is ready to work hard and compete for that #1 position on the depth chart. Also, people need to quit complaining about Crowell, he is just a kid and still has a lot of growing up to do, I have no doubt that CMR can help Crowell grow as both a man and a great football player. I’m also thinking if we pick up KM then we may have a good chance of landing Gurley. With Gurley and KM then I think we will have the offensive and defensive talent to go toe to toe with anybody in the NCAA.

True UGA Fan, your exactly who and what im talking about. These kids read the blogs. I know Crowell personally, have knowned him since grade school, and he read the blogs coming out of high school. When a kid reads “Look, I would LOVE Keith Marshall to join UGA, it would make my Finals week better”, they feel some since of entitlement. Crowell’s head got big coming out of high school from crap like this. Why is a 18 year old kid that you dont even know, dont know what kind of player he will be, will make your finals week better? Are you serious? How about knowing I will past my finals will make my week better, or being able to see my family for the holidays will make my week better, or hooking up with this girl that I have been wanting will make my week better, not an 18 year old boy who may come play football at the school I attend will make my week better. You and many others are part of the media exposure that jacks these kids up. There just kids and it just football

Let’s keep it real, most of the Crowell naysayers will never give him the benefit of doubt because of his appearance, his trash talking (which is just over-zealous confidence and CMR with no discipline), and he got caught smoking weed (but half the stadium is drunk and high).

Congratulations to IC for the freshman of the year honors. Hope he ignores the jealousy, the naysayers and no-life rumor mongers, who haven’t got aclue!

Not a one of the fair weather jackasses on these blogs have ever, nor could ever walk a mile in his shoes.

IC, clean up your act, make better choices, and become aware of how closely you are being scrutinized and you will be okay. Have a great bowl game, work hard off season and change the perception

It also appears that young Mr. Malcome has seen ‘the light’, so to speak. Would be great to have KM and TG in that mix. Talk about a change of pace! Both LSU and UA have proved that you cannot have too many quality RB’s.

Showcase more talent, with less chance for serious injury which would jeprodize their future! Makes sense to me.

…now about those O lineman…

I for one hope Isaiah gets his life together and kicks out any demons he may or may not have.

I do not understand the hate for a kid, he is still one in my book. Competition from another top back would do Isaiah some good.

Whether we get Marshall or not we still have a great RB. Crowell still rushed for over 800 yards missing 3 games and parts of others. I know he will work hard in the S&C program in the next year and become bigger and stronger for next season that will cut down on the injuries. All of these people knocking him last week for showing out in practice, how would you like to be the guy that your team depends on in a big game, have a bunch of nagging injuries, finally starting to get healthy, then have some stupid walk-on light you up in practice trying to make a name for himself and you feel all those nagging injuries again. I’d be throwing my helmet and cursing too. They should kick the walk-on off the team.
