Collins Hill High School wide receiver Nick England committed to Florida International on Monday.

The 6-foot, 175-pounder picked Florida International over offers from Troy, Central Michigan and Middle Tennessee State.

“I like the coaches, and it just felt like the right school for me,” England told the AJC.

England had some flirtation with bigger schools, including Georgia Tech. “Georgia Tech never offered me but I’m pretty sure I was on their list,” England said. “They never offered me, so I decided to commit elsewhere.”

England has a 3.0 GPA and plans to study Exercise Science.

Good luck kid! I hate to see Ga. players leave Ga., but in your case the player fits the school and the school is a good fit for the player! Best of luck!

How about that, “I was first!” Big deal, it’s not about us, but the players, their families, and the schools. I just thought it was funny, a couple of people make a big deal out of being first to blog on an article!

Ok, I don’t think Tech has an exercise science major, so probably good they didn’t offer.

He also held an offer from Georgia State. FIU is an impressive program with wins over Louisville and Central Florida in 2011. Mario Cristobal is building well down there.

Nick england is the best athlete in Gwinnett County Football right now period. There are some great ones but this kid has it all …speed , 4.39, size 6 ft 182lbs by the way. He sees the whole field and will find the hole if one is there. He is a smart football player and fears no one who lines up against him. God bless Nick , I know your future is bright..I also believe there will be probably 10-15 more offers before its over this year.

Let us all look back at what this young man has done…. Coach Reach is right and If Nick has a connection with Coach Cristobal (FIU Head Coach), then so sorry for the teams that did not take advantage of this opportunity.
Yes there will be other offers and it hurts that he may not stay in the SEC.
But this young man made a decision from his heart and With family support.
GO NICK ENGLAND !!!
