Which UGA recruiting class do you think will be better?
UGA’s football recruiting class for 2013 continues to shape up very well.
Tray Matthews, one of Georgia’s top juniors, committed to UGA over Alabama, among 18 offers, on Saturday. The 6-foot-1, 193-pounder from Newnan High School was on an unofficial visit to UGA with his parents and high school coach.
“We came up for morning practice and went in to talk with [Mark Richt],” Newnan coach Mike McDonald told the AJC. “It was a good conversation. As we were heading out, Tray decided that Georgia was where his heart was. He went ahead and told Coach Richt that he wanted to commit.
“Everybody was happy. Coach Richt had a big smile on his face and gave Tray a big hug. [Richt] called over all the offensive coaches and they congratulated Tray, too. There was a lot of hugging, high-fiving and picture-taking. Coach Richt was really pleased, as were Tray and his parents.”
