Buford DB Paris Head (R) is yet another Georgia player to commit to Vanderbilt

Another day, another Georgia football recruit committing to Vanderbilt.

Paris Head, a defensive back from Buford High School, picked Vanderbilt among his 10 scholarship offers, which he said also included Boston College and Louisville. He also had serious interest from numerous other SEC and ACC schools, including Georgia Tech and UGA, that wanted him to attend summer camp.

“I messaged [Vanderbilt's recruiting coordinator] on Facebook and I told him I was ready to commit,” Head explained to the AJC. “He told me to call the head coach [James Franklin]. I did, told him I was ready to commit, and Coach Franklin was excited and said ‘Welcome to the Vanderbilt family.’”

Vanderbilt has launched an all-out invasion on recruiting Georgia — 7 of 8 commitments for 2012 are from Georgia.

“I think that’s awesome because I feel like Georgia is one of the top states in the country for football,” Head said. “I think they are doing a great job of recruiting here, and I feel like Vanderbilt’s program is going in the right direction.

“I like the coaches there, they are real personable. They have a great recruiting class this year I think the program is going to compete for SEC championships, and I’m excited about being part of it.”

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder will play defensive back or safety at Vanderbilt.

As if things weren’t bad enough for Georgia Tech. Vandy should be getting ALL its players from Georgia. The state’s second and third tier high school talent is better than anything Tennessee produces.

@Dawg Tired: What, you don’t think a 170 lb safety can put on any weight over this summer, his senior season and then the summer before his Freshman year? Quit hating on Vandy.

Vandy will probably win the SEC in a few years with all of this Georgia talent!

Good One
They’ll always be everyone’s homecoming game.
They say this every time they have another coaching failure, I mean change.
This has less of a chance than the Nesbitt for Heisman debacle, I mean campaign.

It is a tribute to the state of Georgia that they have so many folks that other states want to have, come and play for them. UGA and TECH. are not going to get everyone in the state so quit crying over spilled milk. Both schools will fill their needs as usual.
