Prediction for Parks?

One of Georgia’s top college football prospects at tight end will make his college decision on Friday afternoon.

Ricky Parks from Callaway High School will announce between Auburn, UGA and Alabama.

Auburn is considered the school to beat but Parks once upon a time listed Alabama as his frontrunner. Parks performed  in front of UGA coach Mark Richt at Georgia’s 7 on 7 camp last week in Athens.

Here’s a breakdown of Parks from Kipp Adams of UGASports/Rivals.com:

“Ricky Parks, at 6-foot-4, 240-pounds, is an incredible specimen that brings a lot to the table at multiple positions. In a run/spread offense, he possesses the arm strength and mobility to play quarterback at a high level, and has good field vision. As a tight end, he has prototypical size, speed and strength to become a big mismatch as a hybrid tight end/ receiver. For that reason, Parks will likely start out at tight end at the next level and should be considered a top 5 talent at the position coming out of high school. If offense does not work out, he would still project very well as an outside linebacker due to his well developed physique and explosiveness for an athlete his size. Parks currently plays quarterback for Callaway, so he may need to work on fine tuning his blocking ability as a tight end.”

Do not see him going to UGA with the TE’s they already have.

I agree it does not look good for UGA once we got Ty Smith we lost our chance AU killing everyone in recruiting i guess Big Cat weekend payed off for them pun intended .

Looks like he could be a stud at OLB. UGA hasn’t picked up a recruit in a while, so it would be nice to hear their name called.

He will commit to Auburn. They are selling him the idea of playing a little QB there.

Make no mistake, UGA wanted him, but not enough to lie to him about playing QB. We are set for a while at QB. with Murray this year and possibly next, then a Lemay/Ramsey battle will follow. Ramsey is the 2013 kid which could be the #1 QB in that class.

Take this to the back Dawg fans, We will get DeLoach, Theus, Marshall, Agholor, Hicks, Johnathan Taylor, and we are sitting in good shape for Avery Young, Big Joe Harris, and despite what some of these idiots on here say, Geno Smith. Hes playing his game to perfection.

He is going to auburn so go ahead and start writing your story on why is uga losing all these in state players. the fact is the state of georgia has tons of top college kids and uga cant get all of them and the ones they usually spend lots of time on recruiting they usually land

Really?

No chance he comes to UGA. We are way to deep at TE.

We’d love to have him at UGA but we are stacked at TE and he knows the playing time will be at AU when Lutz leaves.

No clue where the guy is going tomorrow but these comments are hilarious…Auburn is lying to the kid saying he has a shot to play QB but they got a commitment from 4/5star QB Zeke Pike?

If he picks Auburn it isn’t about depth, it isn’t about being told he can play QB…he was just recruited better. Get over it.

I mean to have no bias in saying this, but as a QB in shotgun, he looks a lot like a Cam Newton type of quarterback. I mean this comparison in all of the positive ways, as that video showed his incredible size and physical dominance over the competition. Say what you want about Cam, but there was no doubt that he was a physical specimen unseen before. And this kid sure looks good. The way he eluded defenders and threw the ball downfield so effortlessy just seemed so similar to Cam.

That being said, I could definitely see Auburn wanting this guy the most, but from UGA’s perspective, you can never have too much depth at any position. UGA could always use more depth, whether he plays on offense or defense. Good luck to this kid in whatever path he decides to take though.

Go Dawgs!

Steven – What are you talking about? He’s not being pitched the idea to play QB at Auburn, they are recruiting him as a TE. AU already has a QB committed and picked up a highly rated one last year as well.

uga needs to land about 10 top offensive line prospects that are not coming off major surgery. then just hope and pray that 3 of the kids pan out. have you seen the pathetic group of o linemen on the uga depth chart? uga needs o line help bad and i dont think it was addressed in the last recruiting class.

The kid’s a better Quarterback than Murray NOW. Richt and Booboo need to hit the road. Get someone in here who can OBJECTIVELY evaluate talent, keep these kids home, and WIN. Auburn has Keil Frazier coming in, are deep at tight end as well and that’s not affecting Parks. He’s making the decision because Auburn is a better program with better coaches and offers the kid a brighter future. Those are the facts. Richt and Bobo need to get off their collective asses and go turn Brandon Greene. Sheesh, what a pair!!

How in the world can any real UGA fan sit there and type that UGA does not need a kid like Parks?
The real smart fans are in actuality sitting there reading about these kids going elsewhere and knowing the current staff is like the Wizard in Oz. Playing all big while the truth is the program is in stagnant quicksand and too many players are aware of the issues surrounding the program.

While at Auburn some of the comments that recruits are making about what they are being told are hilarious at best. Promises and Promises, the smart kids catch on real quick while others are like a big of Carp who will bite anything.

Just to clarify a comment made by someone who made an issue out of D. Goode who transferred to North Alabama last week. As reported on Al.com/sports

“Most of the time, we’re very aware,” Saban said of transfers in general. “I meet with all the players in January; I meet with all the players after spring practice. One the questions I always ask is, ‘What can we do to make your college experience better?’ We want every guy in our program to have a positive college experience.

“In some cases, like Goode’s already graduated, it was really important for him to play. He told me that in January. He said, ‘Coach, I’m going to go through the spring, I’m going to work my tail off, but if it doesn’t look like I’m going to get to play much, I’d like to go my fifth year somewhere where I can play a lot. Are you OK with that?’ I said, ‘Absolutely. I understand your circumstance and I appreciate and respect what is important to you in having a positive college experience.”

Goode, a product of Troup High School in LaGrange, Ga., ran 34 times for 140 yards last season

Tell The Truth,

Our Wizard of Oz staff did pretty damn good last year huh? Remember Ray Drew? The guy who was all Auburn. Hell even Jeff Lee was proclaiming Crowell “All In” to Auburn.

Facts are that we are assembling a good recruiting class of our own. And to be perfectly honest, I cannot wait until over comes up to Athens in November. Whoever your QB is might not make it through the whole game after what Nick Fairley pulled last year. Enjoy it now, talk all you want, but we will see who is laughing after this upcoming season.

Big Dawg11,

Just to set the record straight. I am a Georgia Graduate(many many years ago) while on scholarship as an athletic trainer for Football, Baseball and Women’s gymnastics. I support the university through my annual contributions and I am a Bulldog Club Member. Just in case you have not noticed there is a growing number of us who have made our thoughts very well known to the powers that be and now they have decided that our opinions on arrest and student athletic responsiblities are not needed at this time. So therefore we (as in many) have quietly withheld a great deal of donations and now the school is doing damage control and inviting us to various extended functions. So do not read into something that you have no idea is going on behind the scenes. The second point I have is of my three children, two have graduated from UGA and the third is on the U of A softball team and the way the programs are run in Tuscaloosa are professionally done and yet they tell every alumni or parent up front: “We appreciate your support both fiscally and physically, but we do not allow our boosters, parents or supporters to violate rules and if we determine one is breaking rules they will be excused from our programs” As a parent I appreciate the fact that they understand the role of their boosters and supporters. I guess being on probation for 10 years in a row will do that to you. As well as allowing coaches who allow the student athletes to run or ruin a program and break rules. You need to wake up and see all is not good in Athens, no matter how fun and happy people are on saturdays in the fall.

Way too early to worry about who will go to the barn because that barn will be falling down before NSD. If you think Bobby Lowder turned in his keys to the Auburn Mafia because he was told then I have some beach property in Memphis I need to sale. Just allow this mess to playout and don’t say a lot during the process. You know what they say…if you play in sheet then expect to get some on you.

Big Dawgs daughter plays softball at U of A? WTF? Does that make you an authorlty on the inner workings of a “program”. As if anybody other than parents and close relatives give two craps about womens friggin’ softball. Watching that is about as exciting as watching the WNBA.

If you really do have any ties to UGA, quit acting like anyone at UGA is losing any sleep over your money. People care about your money about as much as they do womens softball.
