Celebrated QB recruit Vad Lee to attend Georgia Tech’s T-Day

Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson couldn’t resist the urge this week to watch video of the most heralded member of his 2011 recruiting class, quarterback Vad Lee of Durham, N.C.

There are high expectations for Lee, who will make a personal appearance at Tech’s T-Day on Saturday. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder is attending the annual spring scrimmage with many of his fellow recruits.

“I’m excited about my first time going to T-Day and hanging out with the rest of our recruiting class,” Lee said. “It will be good to see everybody again.”

Lee said he will be riding to the game with another Tech signee, linebacker Tremayne McNair of Jacksonville, N.C. “I’ve called and texted just about everybody, and as far I know they are all going to be there on Saturday.”

Lee will report to Tech this summer and compete immediately for playing time as a freshman. “That’s what the coaches have told me all along,” Lee said.

He will compete next year, there is no way he can grasp this offense at a higher level the Day and Washington. Washington might not be the play maker Nesbitt was, but he is good enough to win with in this system.

I don’t expect anyone to come right in and play immediately, but if he can push a starter while he’s learning then it still helps the team. Of course, by his junior season we’re all hoping for greatness. How great to have the recruits talking to each other and acting like a team already. Build that comeraderie!

Go Jackets!

From my few conversations with Vad Lee. He does understand the Concepts of the O very well. The intricacies are what are harder to grasp. He probably should red shirt for no other reason he needs to gain some weight and hit the Books equally as much as the weight room and training table.

Mr. DAYS is more SOLID built and just needs the confidence of running with the first team.

Washington will start the season at QB, but Days and Lee will see a lot of time under center. At least that is what CPJ tells me.

the o-line will have a hard time keeping any of them healthy for the entire year.

If by “highly celebrated” you mean: “3 star quarterback about to learn an offense that he has never in his life seen before”,

sure.

I guess for Tech that would be pretty “celebrated”.

I talked with CPJ yesterday….he said that Days if he can start holding on to the ball more, will be the starter. He also said that I was creeping him out because I was actually hanging onto a tree by the window of his office. And we actually weren’t talking to eachother…he was talking to Bohannon. Bohannon was a little frazzled as well….

I am really looking forward to playing QB at Tech, or as the coaches at GT call it the RB that takes the snap.
Vadd: Hey Coach J. when do I get to throw a pass?
CPJ: Be patient Vadd you’re only a freshman. You will get to throw a pass sometime before you graduate.

tc, note the LOWER CASE lettering, maybe we should drop baseball, oh yeah, when were YOU last in the baseball final four? But how about we talk football, or even your blessed BASKETBALL? What is that? Now you don’t want to speak again? It must really SUCK for such a “VAUNTED” ASHESHE Bball program to be owned, much less have their own NETS CUT DOWN by that no good SEC team/OWNER, oops meant neighbor.

Michael Carvell you really shouldn’t let people impersonate athletes by using their names. There’s no telling were that might go… It wouldn’t be productive at all to the info/ conversation of the real blog topic.

Do you NERDS REALLY want us to bring up FOOTBALL on this blog, REALLY? OK, let us make this a mailbag. What do y’all want to talk about? OK, I will throw one out. How about the question, How do you get 600, 600!, yards offense and still lose a game?

Vad Lee: You may be a troll, but your 1:30 post was one of the funniest but yet very right on about how a QB operates under CPJ. Sad that this GT offense works as you said, but it is true.

Turnovers count sir. UGA did well overall in turnovers last year. BUT, how many games did UGA lose on last second, endzone turnovers sir?

JD, I bet letting the other team score 42 points on you didn’t help either, especially if your team scored less points.

Untrue, Scoutdawg. Ask Caleb King.

By the way, fumbles are largely random.

ScoutDawg

Ask C. King what fumbles he would sell his soul to get back from last year, I can think of at least one game loser, possibly two.

ScoutDawg

Random fumbles! Only in a read and pitch high school offense, not by serious football players. Now sometimes everyone drops the ball, but not often RANDOMLY.

ScoutDawg

What part of most people running down the field don’t randomly drop the ball is confusing to you sir? And yes, I believe in RBI’s, pitcher records, and defense in baseball. Sorry to offend you with pertinent discussion.

Tech should get 10 points for a touchdown instead of the customary 6. Its only fair. First of all, Tech has to deal with more freak unfortunate turnovers than other teams. This would level the playing field. Second, whereas other teams deserve only 6 points for a touchdown, Tech clearly deserves 10 because Paul Johnson’s offense is so much more difficult to run. Teams like Georgia score points with simplistic pro-style offenses that their players ran in high school and even middle school. This gives them an unfair competitive advantage. Paul Johnson has to recruit 2 star high school QBs with no experience whatsoever running the option and then “coach ‘em up.”. Not fair.

I think Vad will be great for GT. He always seems to have a good attitude and seems to be a hard worker. I doubt he will start his first year, almost nobody could do that in a Paul Johnson offense but he will learn a lot this year and be ready to show his stuff next year.

dawgfan

Tech fans are not very bright. They run an offense that requires pitching the ball around in the backfield almost every play but think their turnovers are totally random. They talk an awful lot about how Paul Johnson’s offense requires perfect timing, but their turnovers are totally random. If they turn the ball over it has nothing to do with a defender penetrating in to the backfield to disrupt their timing. It was totally random.

There should be a law that prohibits Georgia Tech fans from talking about football.

Fumbles are generally a product of luck, dawgfan. Interceptions are a product of skill (or lack thereof).
