Cornelius “Tank” Carradine will announce his decision between Georgia, Florida State and Ohio State this afternoon.

That’s the word from his high school coach, who will be meeting with the star defensive end from Butler County (Kan.) Community College to discuss those options over the next few hours. Carradine is a 6-foot-5, 265 pound defensive end who is the No. 2-ranked junior college player in America, according Rivals.com.

“Everyone is wanting to know what he’s going to do,” said Mike Martin, Carradine’s coach at Taft High in Cincinnati. “He’s a hot commodity. He’s a defense end who wreaks havoc when he gets to the quarterback and everybody wants that.”

Carradine led the National Junior College Athletic Association with 16 quarterback sacks as a sophomore this season. He recorded 109 tackles — including 20 for loss — for Butler, which finished No. 2 in the nation after losing to Navarro in the junior college national championship on Dec. 5.

Carradine took at official visit to Georgia late last week. He also took an official to FSU a couple of weeks ago. He did not take an official to Ohio State “but he has been there so many times,” Martin said.

“From what I gather, I think Ohio State is in third right now, which means it’s a tie between Florida State and Georgia,” said Martin, who said he’d just hung up with Alabama making a last-ditch pitch. “But that’s just from what he’s been saying. It’s his decision and he could do anything. What we’re doing today is sitting down and going over everything so he can make the decision that’s best for him.”

Carradine, who signed with Illinois out of high school but did not qualify, will be a midyear enrollee. So wherever he chooses he will be on their campus in January.

Georgia would appear to present a prime opportunuty for Carradine. The Bulldogs are expected to lose junior Justin Houston, the SEC’s sack leader, to the NFL when underclassmen have to declare next month They’re also losing Demarcus Dobbs, Kiante Tripp and Brandon Woods to graduation.

“He called me from his visit down there to check in with me and said it was good and he liked everything he saw,” Martin said. “But he said that everywhere he went. He’s been all over the place with this decision. It’s been a little bit overwhelming for him because he wants to play in the NFL and he knows it’s a big decision.”

Sometime this afternoon, we’ll all find out which way he goes.

Paul in RDU
UGA has been signing them for years. UGA has sent many into the JUCO ranks and PG work at military high schools because they couldn’t qualifly at UGA.
GT has rearly signed a JUCO because if they didn’t make it in TECH the first time it is rare the player will take enough math to qualifly later.

FSU and UGA go after some of the same recruits sure, but there is no animosity between the schools and fans. We all hate what is Orange and the Nerds. It’s not like we hate UGA for taking Richt even though it cost us a NC title.

Let’s both build and beat up the rest.

I completely agree with you Naga. And your welcome to post here anytime as far as I’m concerned. Don’t let the trolls get to you too bad….

BUT, how many bowls were being played from 1892 – 1947?
