Good morning. I’m back from vacation. Did I miss anything?
Just kidding. I know I missed a lot.
Fortunately, thanks to our high schools writer Michael Carvell, you did not. Carvell stayed on top of all the important recruiting news in the Prep Zone Blog. Be sure to go back and check it out if you, too, were out of the loop last week.
Among the topics Michael covered while I was out:
And there was more that Michael wasn’t able to get to.
Georgia Tech got a pair of commitments over the weekend in linebacker Jabari Hunt-Days of Hillgrove High and offensive lineman Shaq Mason of Columbia, Tenn. And Monroe Area defensive end Stephon Tuitt, one of the top prospects in the state, narrowed his choices — in order — and has a new leader. I have interviews with all those guys and will share updates on them later today or tomorrow.
In the meantime, the first thing I’m going to get to today is a follow-up on the Nick Marshall-to-Georgia news. While on vacation, I had a long conversation with his coach at Wilcox County, Mark Ledford, and a short one with Nick (he is a pretty quiet-spoken young man). As you probably know, Marshall has been in the middle of an intense tug-of-war between Tech and Georgia and he and his coach shed some light on that situation in the interview account I’ll share with you later this morning.
Be sure to check back throughout the day as I’ll update the blog with news continuously as I play catch-up after vacation. While we’re at it, go to the comments section and let me know of any recruiting subjects you’re eager to read about in the next couple of weeks and feel free to ask questions about these and other subjects.
Thanks, again, for the brief respite. Glad to be back.
