Four Georgians (so far) earn Under Armour All-America distinction

apparently if you live in Louisiana you’re an LSU lock. sure looks like they did a great job identifying and securing commitment from the best guys in their state. granted that’s a lot easier in Louisiana than Georgia, but it’d sure be nice to see more of Georgia’s elite players solidly in the fold earlier in the year.

So, actually they were 2009 “all Americans”, right? 2010 and 2011 seasons haven’t been played. They may stink with their future teammates…

GT will sign most of those kids because they all want to play in the mighty BONE. Right?? I mean, CPJ said so ………….. “slap em, slap em in their 1980 faces” if they do not sign with us.
ARGHHH,AAARRRRRRRRGH, we have to face Duke and Wake again, screams CPJ at practice.

How many QBs are listed here that are Wishbone QBs??? Hmmmmm??

” SNAP”goes the 2cnd team GT QB’s ankle, “SNAP” goes the 3rd team Qb’s knee. Ouch!

There will barely be any All Sub Region kids that want to run QB in the Triple Break Offense at tech.

It is indeed easier to lock up Lousiana than it is Georgia . Even after prolonged years of suckage their borders didn’t leak nearly as bad as Georgia . Coach Saban always gets a lot of credit on recruiting but when he came to LSU the “repair” job of rebuilding the fences around that state simply wasn’t that hard to do .

On the other hand there has NEVER been what you could truly call a “fence” around Georgia . I don’t think that in itself is a reflection so much on the dawg program as it is the historic cultural and geographical influences . It is sort of the reverse of what Nebraska has historically had to face .

The Huskers had a territory with no real direct competitors locally but not a lot of big names either . The state of Georgia by itself produces more high quality recruits than Nebraska’s historic recruiting grounds but conversely the state is also a sort of recruiting “crossroads” geographically .

Hey AJC, how is Quan Bray not on your top 10 list? I thought it was a glaring error when you first announced it a couple of months ago. And you let Under Armour find him among 22 other kids from across the country. Come on…

Kid’s amazing. And he’s playing in the quarterfinals in basketball tonight.

And if anyone’s counting, this means that 5-AA will have 3 pre-season all-Americans next year. Should be a great year for football in West Georgia…

This year will likely prove to be the worse year ever for in state talent heading out of state simply because Richt has been in the job long enough and nothing has really changed at UGA. When he first got here he was thought of as the next great collegiate coach but his heyday has not panned out for those of us hoping to compete yearly for the BCS title. The success of Bama and UF has really put a damper on our program. Bama looks to have a banner year in this state and I would not count out South Carolina either if they come storming out next year. Clemson and UT will garner a few gems from this state as usual. I doubt GT will get any of the top 15-20 kids simply because the other coaches pound the “high school” offense quotes into the young athletes mind. The key for UGA will be in instilling a belief the program is on the UP which will be a hard sell since the head coach has been here for a decade with little to prove he is a championship caliber coach even though he generally gets terrific talent. We may need to make a coaching move just to stay competitive or see a slide to third or fourth in the SEC East let alone nationally.

Richt and Bobo need to own up to intentionally messing with the kid from Carver Colunbus rather than treating it as an hoonest mistake. They lose credibilty when they don’t tell the truth. Both are too cocky, especially Bobo.

“No fence around Georgia”—-you should have chosen “no clue of what is going on” for your name. Coach Richt has done everything but win a MNC and he will do that. As others have stated, each school only gets a limited number of players each year and we can’t sign all of the great players that come from this state. I feel real sure you are a poser from one of the many non-dawgs who post here.

Brick…just thought I would update a little…Crowell is very strong Alabama,,,Bray is Alabama Lean and GT in the running due to him being offered QB…Rome…is doubtful to us at UGA…the others are in our wheelhouse to some degree or another….some stronger than others…
The second wave of Under Armout announcements will come in Spring and Summer….

We are recruiting some linemen out of Alabama…the linemen in Alabama we are recruiting are some studs…so it does not make any sense to call out a state for High School talent…we have 2 or 3 leans out of Fl. and 2-6 out of SC/NC and one out of Texas….

I think CMR is looking more closely at need than Stars in 2011…

Bama and Fla. have to come to the state of Ga. to get recruits? Why don’t you knuckleheads just say the truth. Good players know where to go to play for a good sucessful programs. Not UGA

SOUTHGADAWG88

March 7th, 2010
7:44 pm

To be blunt about it neither Bama or FLA has signed many kids from GA where UGA didn’t sign a higher rated player at that position.Every once in while sure but that’s the exception not the rule.UGA and GT could sign every kid they wanted and there will still be enough top shelf talent left over to feed dozens of Div1 schools. That is unique to state of GA while LA is somewhat compatible to GA in producing some of the elite of all HS players…there is a huge drop off in LA outside of the very best.GA kids have ALWAYS went to schools all across the country….there aint enough scholarships for all of them instate.Furthermore when you go back and look at the recent history very few of the so called “misses” and “losses” in recruiting have actually turned out to be bigtime players at those schools who “stole” them from UGA.Look at UGA’s track record with producing pros(tells me this staff knows how to spot talent).

Hightide,

If you think you guys will be better without Mcclain and Cody then we definitely know where the “High” in high tide comes from..You’ve been hitting the bong too much.

However, i will give it to you guys on the RB position. I actually think Trent Richardson will be a better Rb than Ingram.
