Stephon Tuitt said he plans to take an official visit to Georgia Tech shortly after returning home from the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 9.
This is big news since the 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive end from Monroe — who Rivals ranks the No. 1 player in the state — has been committed to Notre Dame since September.

Tuitt tells me he remains committed to the Fighting Irish but wanted to take a couple of visits “just to make sure.” He also took an official to Auburn the weekend before Christmas.
“I know wherever I sign it’s going to be for four years, so I want to be sure about it,” he said Thursday.
Tuitt said he informed Notre Dame’s coaches of his plans.
“I’ve been up front with them,” he said. “Of course, they didn’t want me to take any visits. But I explained it to them and I gave them valid reasons. I told them I intended to stay committed but if they wanted me to stay committed they needed to let me make sure this was where I wanted to be before I sign those
