This kid is a beast.... just like all the other WRs on the roster at UGA. UGA is full of 5-star high school AAs but what does that mean today? Stafford and Moreno, Cox and King. ZERO SEC titles. UGA is fighting to keep up with Kentucky now. Rogers will be just another dissapointment to go through Athens.

Ga fans and others will be shocked when they see this Rogers. He will hit the playing field with already the power and body of an NFL player. He comes as physically prepared for his position as Hershel Walker was for his position. Power, leaping ability, velcro hands, and blazing speed. Just throw it near him.

SMYRNA man, if you are referring to the UGA/TN game being full, well, no, it wasn't. I was there too and no, it wasn't raining. How do you think I scored tickets for $25? Tn has not sold out a single game this year, they still have tickets for sale. Even after ADVERTISING, you still can't sell out. uttix.com is your avenue for face value tickets.

103K for a noon game in the rain isnt filling the stadium up? Trust me I was there, and the stadium was Rocking and lots of recruits were there too. Your team looked pathetic

45-19... Should have been 52-19

It sounds like Da’Rick handled the situation with respect to Coach Orgeron, even though he showed up unannounced, but has made it clear that he intends on keeping his pledge to UGA solid.

You have to respect the young man for the mature way in which he handled the matter and the fact that, in spite of what may be happening, and even being said and speculated about the going on in Athens, Da’Rick is confident in his decision and the fact that he can make a difference in the program, and that he will not waiver in his commitment to the Bulldogs.

He has obviously been raised right, and I commend him. Best of luck to the young man.

I guess this guy isn't looking to win any titles because Tennessee is the team on the rise in the East for the next several seasons. Florida and South Carolina is going to be in his way to a title too.

CHIP, thanks for the shoutout.

LIVIN, you are correct in your analysis of Sports Talk. Try 105.1 ESPN radio, not as much 'homerism' on there. Dr. B is just a shock jock trying to be like Skip Bayless.

Volsrule, the Accountant is right: UGA is not "looking up" to UT right now. It takes more than one game for a new coach to get a true leg-up on another program. UT matched up very well vs UGA's weaknesses this season. Last season, UGA should have pasted UT but Staff kept the game close with his pix. This year's Georgia game lent some legitimacy to UT and it's new staff. Before that week, LOTS of UT people I know were already souring on the team. They didn't even fill up the stadium for Auburn and UGA. Congrats though, your guys almost pulled the upset last week--in fact they actually should have. Pretty good team for a sub .500 record. Defense is good, but no better than Big John Chavis--who was the REAL strength behind Fulmer all those years. If Phillip hadn't hired that dingbat Clawsen, he'd still be there.

Someone above mentioned a sport talk show in Chattanooga. I live in the Chattanooga area and those guys are total TOOLS. They are 100% UT homers (which is kind of funny because Chattanooga is NOT Big Orange Country nor Knoxville-South). These windbags H A T E Georgia. They never say anything positive about the 'Dawgs. In fact I quit listening to them years ago except for when David Paschall of the Chattanooga Times-Free Press is on there one night a week. David is the beat writer for UGA but does an excellent job at covering college football and especially the SEC. Imagine that, UGA has a beat writer on staff at the CTFP! Again, Chattanooga has a LOT of other fans such as UGA, Auburn, 'Bama, etc. It's a crossroads. The sport-talk homers obviously hate that. They really suffer from Georgia-envy or something.
I don't think this blog was without merit. The kid gets a visit from UT who has "declared war" on UGA; UT knows if they don't get Georgia boys, they don't win: PERIOD. Just look at the 1998 N.C. roster...
I also don't have a problem in the AJC covering UT some. This is a huge UGA market, but lots of UT alums have moved to Atlanta and North Georgia for careers, etc. (btw, welcome to God's country good people).

UT are good losers.

Da'rick the freak has opened up a lot of other Calhoun receivers this year, he usally only plays the 1st half due to Coach Lamb's clearing the bench when the game is in control. One on one I haven't seen anyone that can cover him or out jump him. He's dropped a couple and ran a route or two wrong, but if he can ever get humble he'll play on Sunday. Its all up to him, God gave him the tools.

Please stop: I don't know how many UT fans subscribe to the AJC and I don't care. I most certainly am not promoting Lane Kiffin's agenda. Lil' Wayne is handling that! ;-) . . .

This was a simple update on 5-star recruit Da'Rick Rogers, a Georgia commitment, getting a visit from a coach from Tennessee. The Vols, after all, have publicly stated they intend to dominate Georgia in recruiting. The Truth is correct in that there had been some scuttlebutt that UT had or was trying to turn Rogers. This report proves that information to be false. I'll be visiting Rogers soon to write more about the player considered the top wide receiver in the state. . . .

Some breaking news coming up in a new blog.

Volsrule - That's nice and all but perhaps you should wait until you have a winning SEC record before proclaiming you've passed us by in the conference. You can certainly be proud of the games you guys had against us recently, but overall when I look at a box score for the SEC east, it's Florida then UGA.

We are 3 and 2 in the SEC, you are 1-3. Not saying we might not both end around 4-4 but today you simply don't have the evidence you need.

Also, you should use more than 3 seasons to prove your point, especially when one of the seasons you had a losing record and might have a second.

Hey Stevie Janowski - I am only stating facts:

UGA peaked under Richt in 2005
- really thought they were in a position to dominate
- This year is providing clarity to the situation in Athens - and it seems UGA is back in the 90's......looking up to Florida and Tennessee - while fighting off S. Carolina and KY.

When looking at the state of a program - you need to look at recent trends

In a way - UGA under Richt reminds me of what has happened at UT under Fulmer. Fulmer peaked - the program started to slide and the "pack" started to catch up - next thing you know - we are part of the pack - trying to catch GEORGIA and FLORIDA.

With that said:
2007 - UT wins SEC EAST - and blows out UGA - but struggles to beat average teams - UT's program had been sliding for a few seasons and had been passed by Florida and Georgia.

UGA was average at best first half of season - but played great second half - beating a 9-4 Florida team, AUBURN, KY, GT and beating Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl.

2008 - UT stumbles hard - obvious - UT had grown stale under Fulmers leadership. Sometimes - a change is needed to revive and bring excitement back into the program. enter Lane Kiffin.

UGA preseason #1 - obvious overrated - team not disciplined - blow out losses to ALABAMA and FLORIDA - UGA struggles against below average Auburn and average KY - melts down against Tech. this team reminds me of UT 2007 in that they struggled to beat average teams. yet had a good overall win loss record.

2009 (CURRENT)
UT playing better than record indicates - will finish the season either 8-4 or 7-5 - played two #1 ranked teams well (Florida and Bama) Discipline team - turn over margin excellent - fewest penalties in SEC - good coaching. Program is improving.

UGA - season reminds me of UT 2008. Poor performances with glimpses of excellent talent- could lead to a melt down season (5-6)like UT last year. Horrible turnover Margin - penalties, etc. AT best - UGA will finish 7-4 - but more likely 6-6 - team is moving backward.

STEVIE - At the end of the season - let's have a friendly dialogue to compare notes - UT will have a better record - will go to a better bowl game.

Ga fans just don't get it. You have bigger problems than recruiting and a defensive coordinator.
Like it or not, you now take a back seat to the billies.

VolsRule,
Correction: You hope Martinez stays at Georgia for a long time. When Mark's Richt D Coordinator was Brian VanGorder, the Dawgs were 3-1 against the Vols, with the only loss being a 5-point margin.

dawgfan13,
Actually, AJ Green will definitely be back next year because he's a true sophomore right now. Players can't go to the NFL draft until after their third year (true juniors or redshirt sophomores). Moreno was redshirted, so he was eligible to leave after playing only 2 seasons.
