Miles Gooch of Towers led an unbelievable comeback against Columbia last week. He's definitely starting to create a buzz for himself.

Not to take anything from any RB mentioned in this article, but Mack Brown has continously proven that he head & shoulders above the others. Sanders from Stephenson is a good back as well. Perkins may be a little over rated, but he is a good back. The article proves that the state of Georgia is extremely fertile ground when it comes to producing good RBs.

Under the radar? Which standout high school players are under the recruiting radar screen? The blue chippers do not always pan out. The percentages, though, say go with the blue chippers -- the choices of Scout and Rivals. Smith, Auburn's top receiver last year, was a walk-on from Gwinnett County. Smith obviously earned a scholarship. Dooley was known for "battlefield promotions" (viz., walk-ons earning scholarships on the practice field). Richard Tardits, who held UGA's sack record until eclipsed by Pollack, was initially a walk-on. Google college football stars who were initially walk-ons, and you will see that recruiting is not an exact science. The key is being able to find those players who are being overlooked. Consensus All American Terry Hoage was the last kid to whom UGA offered a scholarship. I believe he played QB in Texas, but he was converted by Vince Dooley into an amazing Rover and had a stellar career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Tim Jennings, like Hoage, was the last kid to whom UGA offered a scholarship in his recruiting class. He hailed from Orangeburg, South Carolina and only stood at 5'7". Two or three years ago, the Colts drafted little Timmy Jennings in the Second Round. I love stories like this. There a junior class Quarterback-Wide Receiver tandem that I hope is not overlooked. Landmark Christian's Carson Barnett and Wide Receiver Robert Trotter have teamed up on several ariel connections thus far this season. In four games (Trotter missed one game due to injury), Barnett has connected with Trotter on four TD passes, three of which have gone for 73, 63, and 55 yards. Barnett, a heady QB who stands at 6'1" or 6'2" (and still growing), has caught the attention of those in the know because of his strong arm. His favorite targets are Trotter, who has break-away speed, and Zach Barnett, his tight end twin brother. Landmark Christian traditionally has a strong football program in the single A division of GHSA. Remember that Herschel Walker, Garrison Hearst, and Champ Bailey also came from this single A division.

Perkins is a great back dont get me wrong, but it sounds like to me he is the only offensive threat on the tam.I just think he is going to get burnt out by time the playoffs roll around carring the ball 30 to 35 times a game.News flash to stop Collins Hill stop Perkins and u might just win the game.
