Actually, most believe Mallett was planning on transferring regardless of who Michigan's next coach was going to be because he was homesick. Rodriguez tried to reach out but Mallett wasn't remotely interested. Not that anyone would blame him, because the spread option isn't a great system for Mallett, but he still would have started last year easily. Even though i'm a UM fan, I have no ill will toward Ryan. He will be a great player...

And remember, beware the power of The Forcier.

Mallet couldn't complete a pass in the 4th quarter because GA was dropping all but 3 down lineman into coverage. Matt Jones never threw the ball he was a run first quarterback who flourished in a "run" oriented offense. Mallett is good, the best...not so fast, but there was absolutely no chance to make a drive late because they hadn't established a running game all night so they were cheating big time in the secondary, not because Mallett wasn't good

So happy for Mallett. it's too bad DickRodriguez of UM was more interested in Terrelle Pryor than Mallett, so Mallett felt obliged to leave... Mallett is performing so much better than Pryor right now. And DickRod is lucky that tate forcier has come to his rescue in ann arbor. funny how things work...

Hey guys, you might want to cool it a bit on the bashing of Willie. Before the end of the season ya'll are gonna be begging for seats on the bandwagon, and guess what?...you'll be welcome but we know who you are and will remind you. Willie'l be just fine because these kids keep-on-keeping-on and the youngsters will improve their technique to match their speed.

Now as for Mr. Mallett, what is it about a guy that was threading the needle on every pass he threw in the first two or three quarters but couldn't keep the ball within ten yards of any receiver on that last drive?...hell, he looked like Reggie Ball...and what in blazes was the guy doing while he was losing that weight? Sure wasn't working on his arms - I mean if I had gangly-looking, white noodles that looked like that, I sure wouldn't wear that 'show-off you guns' jersey. Sure he could throw the ball a long way, but he looked like Ichabod Crane, cover up those pencil-thin things...and as for Houston Nutt not being able to use tall, talented, QBs - what about Matt Jones? Of course the kid Mallet will never be athletic enough to play receiver in the NFL, or dumb enough to get busted for drugs either, hopefully, but he could have played for Nutt...and as for Petrino being all over Georgia recruiting, any talented footballer in this state, and his family, that would throw in with that jerk after the debacle with the Falcons are idiots that are welcome to leave at any time and improve the gene-pool.

I, like most of us, was more impressed with the QB playing for the team that didn't have a pig for a mascot. Mr. Cox showed us that he, indeed, possessed the accuracy and the arm strength necessary, particularly with this set of receivers, to score big in this league...shoot, if they gave him Tuesday off as well, he'd throw for a thousand and ten TDs.

The question is, how many other quarterbacks are we going to make look great this year? Those "in the know" all say the same things about Martinez. He's smart, a good recruiter, great to work with, puts together a good scheme. Maybe he'll be great here eventually, maybe he'll be great somewhere else. Past 3 years... not so great.

he may not have great stats on 3rd down (yet) but he can throw a ball on a rope farther than any other qb in the sec.

Mallett was 3-14 on third downs. He was 2-10 passing in the 4th quarter.

Call me when he leads his team down the field with the game on the line in the 4th quarter.

What does this have to do with this year's recruiting? Seriously, can we get someone in here who will actually tell us how recruiting is going for the state schools?

Yes, Mallet is very accurate, but so was ginger top. We didn't cover some plays as well as we should have, but all the deep passes thrown by both palyers last Saturday were some of the most accurate I've ever seen. Really good stuff!!!

GO DAWGS!!!!

I'm neutral when it comes to Georgia or Arkansas, but since Mallet had the same type of performance against Missouri State two weeks prior to the Georgia game, should we assume that Georgia's pass defense is no better than Missouri State's? Or is this guy actually the real deal? He looked pretty good to me and he's already had NFL scouts give him high praise and rate him just as highly as the top quarterbacks in the nation based on what they've seen of him so far.

He may light some others up, but realize that Georgia has one of the worst defenses in BCS conferences much less the SEC. He won't light up many SEC defenses like UGAs. Thanks a lot 1/4 Willie.

Carr went on to elaborate in another interview: "that Ray Charles could have completed most of those pass receptions against Willie's "D"....nonody was within 20 yrds of the receiver all night."
