I was at the Tech campus last week and people were selling pepper spray and flack jackets on the side walk. Atlanta’s mayor is not doing enough about the crime rate in that area. Uzis should be brought in.

ZERO is the correct answer. Luc isn’t going anywhere out of state. Lattimore is going to South Carolina. Dunlley is going to Florida. Lamonier isn’t going to qualify academically. Hicks is going to Ohio State. UGA needs another d-tackle ( Thornton or Whitaker) and a corner (Fulton) . Joyner is also going to Ohio State because the position is to crowded at Florida and he would be redshirted. UGA really missed a big opportunity when Greg Reid was available. Some day he will be a 1st round draft choice. Safety is another priority but UGA has 2 good ones coming in.

Not sure, but I don’t think we can recruit too many D-linemen or defensive players in general. Regardless of who runs the defense next year, the Dawgs are only a good coordinator (or better coordinator performance) away from a great defense. Have no fear recruits, you will find success at UGA.

Tampagator, it amazes me how much you seem to know about everything, do all these recruits have a pipeline directly to you, Florida will not be able to sign everybody that you seem to always think is going to the gators, you’ll get some good ones as you always do, but don’t try and act like you know where all these 18 year olds are going and that can be said about a lot of guys here, these kids are not signed yet, so lets see what happens…..

Georgia will not get these three players. It will come down to these teams, I believe, based on what I have been reading and hearing.

Powell – Florida or USC, with a lean to Florida right now. Loved his visit during the Tennessee game.

Luc – Florida or FSU. Could go either way. Luc also loved his visit during the Tennessee game and has established a great relationship with Charlie Strong (which could mean he goes elsewhere if Strong gets a HC postion).

Dunkley – Florida or FSU. He has got to love Florida after visiting this weekend and seeing first hand the WR need.

First of all Willie Martinez is NOT THE Defensive Co-ordinator, he is CO-Defensive Co-ordinator.Shares the job with John Jancek.

As to who else the Dawgs will get (nobody is SIGNED yet, signing day isn’t until Feb.)

CB – in better position with Cody Riggs and John Fulton than Joyner, Grimes could be late offer
WR – Green and Dunkley are longshots, Adams possible
RB – Lattimore is possible maybe 15% chance, so too is Brown, don’t feel we get either
OT -hope to get James who is an early enrollee, MUST have one more OT or depth real problem
LB – best bet is Fortt from Conn, he made an official for S Car, likes the school, program, etc
DT – best chance appears to be M Thornton
DE – hope we can find one in a JUCO, no shot at Jeffcoat, need someone who can enroll in Jan and is physically ready to play.

1) LB Jeff Luc, Port St. Lucie, Fla. – The most NFL ready linebacker I have EVER SEEN! He is an absolute BEAST! (I’m afraid he’s going to FSU though)

2) RB Marcus Lattimore, Duncan, S.C. – this guy could be just as good if not better than KNOWSHON!… yes i said it

3) DE Jackson Jeffcoat, Plano, Texas – This guy is a BEAST! I don’t think Georgia has a shot at him honestly… I think he’ll be a Longhorn

4) WR Chris Dunkley, Pahokee, Fla. – Unbelievable athlete. We think Branden Smith is a playmaker with the ball in his hands, this guy could be the next Percy Harvin! (Unfortunately I think he’s going to be a gator as well)

5) DE Corey Lemonier, Hialeah, Fla. – Prototype size and speed. I just read that interview with his head coach… GET ON IT DAWGS!

6) WR Christian Green, Tampa, Fla. – Playmaker at wide receiver. Georgia can never get enough of those!

•LB Jordan Hicks, West Chester, Ohio – Would be great but I believe he’s Ohio State-bound.

Chip, the point is, you are NOT in tune to what UGA is currently recruiting. In fact, you did an update today on a prospect UGA has not talked to since the spring. As we can all tell, you check the subscription based-services for your content, and you could save yourself some time and figure out who UGA/GT is after just by checking who they have been in contact with recently.

They want 1 WR, 1 DT, 1 OT and preferably a top tier CB,RB, or LB to finish out.

Jawuan James and Mike Thornton are the top priorities, so just stay on them please, and you will have exceeded the already low expectations set forth for you by the AJC.

Heh Charlotte Dog – Burrows and Butler are DE’s – fast and not big enough to ever be DT’s. Butler could possibly play inside LB but that would be a project as he has never played the position.

Lattimore is not going to Tenn. They have the #1 recruit in the nation last year playing RB and he is a freshman. He is not going to Florida because of the spread offense where he would be utilized more as a blocker than runner and Florida already has the #4 ranked RB committed – Mack Brown. That leaves Florida State, Auburn, LSU, and UGA in my opinion. He has backed off of South Carolina and Clemson because they are faultering programs that will likely be changing coaches in the next year or two.

Montgomery Burns- You bring a valid statement to the table: Kiffin, Strong or W.Martinez, but you forgot one little fact in the last 2 years Martinez not Strong has had more talent go to the NFL. He has the talent, but his bend but don’t break attitude is slowly doing just that. Breaking! His lack of bliss packages, along with his conservative play calling is killing the Dawgs year end and out. But CMR is content with it and he knows he has job security, maybe if A.D. Evans takes charge and makes the change it will send a message to all on the staff.

We already have about five DE’s committed already, so we probably won’t get another DE. I seriously doubt that we’ll get any of the ten, since they’re all out-of-state. It wouldn’t hurt to get a back of Lattimore’s caliber. I also wouldn’t mind if we got another defensive tackle, like Jeff Whitaker of Warner Robins.

AJC Fan: Sorry you see this as lazy journalism.You’ll be shocked to know I disagree. Obviously you’re an astute observer of recruiting and this blog in particular. I’ll just say this: There are still five months to go until National Signing Day. I write a new blog at least three times a day. I appreciate your suggestions on the 2011 prospects and I will get around to all of them eventually. For now we’re going to stay a little more focused on 2010. Thanks again for the suggestions. . . .

Best odds out of these? I’d say Lattimore and Luc at this point, only because I know both intend to make official visits. Not sure about many of the others but I have calls into most. Stay tuned for updates!
