Numbers... The ony lie is the one that you tell. "Mason didn't do well in Athens this summer". He hit all the throws ask of him and was very accurate. Unlike some of the other folks on here I can dispute your claim. Talk about issues. I question if you have seen any of his games.
At that UGA combine it's interesting a certain UGA player was assigned to watch him and give report, all of a sudden a UGA coach comes calling and tells Mason he is capable of playing in the SEC. His words, not mine. Your bias is shinning through like mine. Now if you want to talk about someone who had a rough outing that weekend try Mr Biasetti from Memphis. I felt sorry for him as he struggled that weekend. Just goes to show you can't judge a QB by a weekend combine. I'll let Mason's body of work over the past year and half speak for itself. The numbers are exactly what they are, a measure of his ability to perform. I's say he is performing at a high level and higher than anyone else in this state. "There are always nay sayers that have there own agenda", simply ignore and keep on keeping on!
Hutson was born to be a quatreback. When he played in the Junior Lassiter Program you knew it then, even though he didn't get to play the position much...Daddy Ball. He spent more time playing defense then he did offense. He was a leader then and is a leader now. He has a 6'3" frame do you think he will not get bigger and stronger? Come on, the training table will add 20 lbs his first season which he will probably redshirt. While I agree that right now his arm strength might not be BCS quality it will be. As a pitcher improves his velocity with the appropriate training so does a quarterback improve his arm strength with the appropriate training. He's 17 for God's sake. By the time he is a junior he will be setting all kinds of passing records where ever he decides to play. This is a process, he doesn't have to fit in immediately. Learn the system, hit the weight room, hone your skills. Hutson your doing all the right things, stay true to yourself and the rest will take care of itself.

He'd get more PT at a smaller school for sure and his arm is not the strongest in the world. Strong arm means nothing is you're not accurate. Hutson seems to be accurate and he has film with 40 yard completions. Most of the strong armed top QB recruits are taken for next year and if you need a QB for depth, as NC State does, Hutson may be the guy? We'd like a QB in every class and we don't have one for next season. We held off to offer others and others bit.

Yes everyone knows Mason thrives in the short to intermediate passing game that Lassiter uses in their spread. But anyone who saw him at camps this summer know he has the weakest arm this side of Nash Nance. And in Athens, he was not accurate either, mostly because of his inexperience taking snaps from under center.

I think he should take the UAB offer now without looking back.

Of the QBs that are left....Hutson's film looks as good as any. 6A state champion QB with a good amount of film. His team is undefeated this season having lost the entire offensive line and Hutson is still doing well. He's not a D-1 sure thing but many who are never pan out. He has skills and looks like he'll make a good college QB. No one had offered 2** Philip Rivers at this time of the year Hutson and the Alabama schools wants him at TE (maybe). Hopefully Tom O'Brien will offer!
