Chip…based on your observation are these two young men overated? Seems like very few yards against high school level defenses. Lots of carries but only averaged around 4 yds per carry for Malcome and barely 3.5 per carry for Brown.

So as far as head-to-head goes, you’d have to call the Brown vs. Malcome matchup a draw. Malcome outgained Brown 75 yards (on 17 carries) to 66 yards (on 20 carries). But, for the second year in a row, Brown’s MLK Lions won 13-9. . . . In defense of SWD, ranked No. 1 in Class AAAA (coming in that is), they lost their starting quarter Stephen Coates on the game’s first play from scrimmage. MLK is in Class AAAAA.

Don’t know if anybody’s paying attention on here besides TXDawg but it’s halftime here at the SWD-MLK game and there hasn’t been much to write about so far regarding our two featured backs. Both have 35 yards rushing in the first half, SWD’s Kendrun Malcome on 11 carries and MLK’s Mack Brown on 9 carries. The Lions lead 6-3, which is pretty good considering they’ve looked overmatched up front most of the night. . . . The Panthers were negatively impacted early when starting quarterback Stephen Coates suffered a right ankle injury on the game’s first play from scrimmage. A sophomore named Jalil Young came on in relief and has performed courageously though the offense seems significantly limited.

I’ll update later with some final numbers, if at all possible.

I hope Malcome gets his 100 yards and that Stripling lays one on Brown and knocks him out of the game in the first quarter but I’m not hoping for a permanent injury mind you – maybe a sprained ankle would work.. I am betting that MLK will be cursed for the backstabbing Mack Brown put on UGA…… there is definely an uneasiness on the MLK campus today.

The reason Mack Brown left the state is because he is going to a championship program who will spotlight his skills. With Johnny Brantley taking over, not only will there be much more of an emphasis on the running backs, but Mack will most probably be heavily involved in the passing game as well. Believe me, if he is as good as the coaching staff down here thinks and he works hard, he will get his opportunities.

@hugedawgfan FL kids leave the state to play for Mark Richt every year. It just happens. Kids go where they feel more comfortable and feel like they fit. Besides, Mack knows where to go if he wants to win championships! Ha! I’ll try to be at that game tonight. Should be a good one.

Mack Brown may not fair as well as Malcome being smaller in size when he joins the SEC. Percy Harvin, as great as he was was injured much of the time while at Florida or not at 100%. Our small guy Carlton Thomas appears to be more compact like Barry Sanders and appears to deal with his size differential and the hits he receives with greater resilience. Though, Mr. Brown, there is still six months time to change your mind and join together with your real brothers at Georgia! HAHA

hugedawgfam relax! our tailback situation is in good shape for years to come. just because we havent landed mack brown does not change that. We had no chance at Eric Berry, whose dad played for Tennessee. This is recruitiing man, you cannot get every kid!

don’t really understand how the state’s #1 RB goes out of state to play college ball? reminds me of Berry slipping off to UT to play against us and lay some wood on Moreno last year. Just don’t get it.
