We @ Tennessee will take all the Ambles you have in Ga. The Vols have coaches that handle all types of players, sorry that Ga. has a bunch of wimps for coaches. The only player that Ga. wants are the ones that don’t need coaching,because Ga. has none and the players have to do it on their on.

Thanks for the link Saint. Everycollege, USA has someone with similar stories, but there are those who just want to “pile on” because it is the hot topic of the day. When it’s all said and done, Ambles and Hood (and whoever else carries some baggage), will either follow in Ayers footsteps, or they will crash and burn. At least now they’ve got a shot at making a better life for themselves.

Excellent point you raise that Kiffen is actually giving some kids a chance to do better in life. Seems that other programs don’t want to take any chances on some kids because they have “baggage.” We may have signed a kid that assaulted a teacher, and we may have signed a kid that at age 13 watched as a 17 year old raped his cousin. Maybe they have repented their sins–maybe not. Only time will tell. But one thing is for certain, if Kiffin had no problems dismissing Morley, then he will have no problem dismissing a freshman ne’er do well if that’s what either becomes. I say give a guy a chance to prove his worth before all the sinless people cast their first stone.

Kid has allot of issues and there is a reason mulltiple programs turned away from him. He should fit in well at UT. Do you have to have been convicted of a crime now to be considered as a recruit for UT? What ever came of the thefts that occured there when several recruits were visiting?

how many times has ga played in the sec title game since the conference split,i believe the answer to be one,go oklahoma state,ga season will be over before halloween,Rick learned about the UT beatdown when he was still as fla state,ut has a winning record against ga with some not so good teams,if richt does not go to atlanta in the next 2 ys,might want to call the moving vans, its a lot harder to win in the sec than it was 3 are 4 yrs ago,just ask fulmer,he is hunting a job,maybe he and ray golf can hook up in athens,best team in ga is ga tech

I am so sick of hearing about Daniel Hood (wrongfully convicted of rape). He was 13 when it happened, he sttod there and watched the 17 year old rape Daniel’s cousin. He was shocked at what was happening so he stood there. After he went to a PRIVATE CATHOLIC school where he had a 3.8 GPA and was named Mr. Football in Tennessee his sr. year. He was going to go to Tennessee on ACADEMIC scholarship, but wanted to play football. Kiffin deliberated about it, while he was Daniel’s cousin (the victim) sent a letter to Kiffin (NOT KIFFEN) explaining what happened and she said he shouldn’t have been convicted. ALSO he had offers from Auburn, Colorado, GA. Tech, Ole Miss, NC State, USCjr, STANFORD, UCLA, and VA. Tech. Next time you go after somebody do alot of research before making an asuumption.

AthensVol . . . sorry, Ambles isn’t the #1 receiver in Georgia. DaRick Rogers has that honor and UGA has him. Ambles is #2, but we don’t need him. We also got Michael Bennett who is a fast-rising WR prospect. Bennett may move ahead of Ambles with a strong senior season.

I enjoy you comments and they are pretty much spot on. You seem to give pretty much unbiased comments for both UF and UGA. As a life long UGA I rarely read these comment sections bc I get sick of these idiotic, fringe fans who will say “Oh, player X committed to school Y. He knew he couldn’t cut it at UGA” or “Player X sucks, we didn’t really want him anyways he wasn’t that good”. But if “Player X” committed to UGA the “fans” would write how Player X was going to start as a freshman and be the next coming of Herschel/Pollack/Jones etc. Fortunately every school has them and not just us.

He came to Tennessee to play for SEC Championships which he wouldn’t have done if he had gone to Georgia which isn’t even the best team in the state, much less the SEC East.” Mannie, come on. First of all, his dad went to UT, so it was natural for Berry to want to go there as well. Secondly, when was the last time UT won an SEC Championship? UGA won more recently than the VOLS, so what the hell are you even talking about?

Hey Joe. Your recruiting hasn’t been very good the last few years. Even Kiffin apologized for this years class the day after signing day. That made all the new signees and their families happy. So TU overpaid for a elderly pro coach that will have to deal with kids that have to go to class and care as much about girls and a social life as they do about football. The other coaches they hired are good recruiters but sub par preparation coaches. That doesn’t cut it in the SEC. I’m not sure if you saw any of SEC media days, but Kiffin didn’t come off like the sharpest tool in the shed. Throwing money at something is not very wise, but you don’t sound very wise either.

true fan…don’t kid yourself. Mack Brown, if he had committed to Georgia, would be listed going into next year as a potential starter for Georgia. And all you Georgia fans would be going nuts about how you don’t need C. King, etc. anymore because you just got the next coming of Hershel Walker. Well, Mack Brown is not the 2nd coming of Hershel Walker, but he is a darn good running back who is going to be a big time RB at Florida, not Georgia, and will score a lot of touchdowns against the Dawgs both on the ground and through the air from John Brantley for the next 3 or 4 years. But he will first have to beat out Moody, Demps, Rainey, Gillesie, and probably another running back that will commit to this class….and Moody, Demps, Rainey, Gillesie are not chump meat against any of your running backs…but they are a lot faster and quicker than any running backs on Georgia’s current roster…particularily Demps and Rainey who can outrun any running back from any team in the country. So don’t downplay the Florida running back depth too much. They are fairly good, fairly fast, and are playing for the national champions of college football for 2 out of the last 3 years and will most likely make it 3 out of 4 this year. Georgia can only wish they had a running back as good as Brown is going to be and wish for winning the championships that Florida has already won…and will win.

Ambles is not a convicted criminal and has no charges pending, correct? Sounds oddly similar to many kids enrolled at UGA, FL, and UT right now. First off, Georgia Tech offered, so please correct that. Ironically, Notre Dame and Cal both offered, two schools famous for tight character restrictions. Second, UT chose not to take Moody. He’s at a JUCO now. Finally, Hood didn’t participate in a rape. Read the court documents and see.

SuperB, I will explain why UGA did not recruit him and why his offer to be in the Under Armour All-America game were pulled. Markeith Ambles beat up a teacher at Griffin High School and was expelled. He then went to Henry County High School so he could continue playing football. Respectable coaches stopped recruiting him because he has no respect for authority at all and was widely considered to be a punk kid at Griffin High School. He was said to have been leaning to USC, but they also pulled their offer to him when they realized he is a street thug. Lane Kiffin decided to once again take a flyer out of desperation on a kid who probably will not even make it into school unless they doctor his grades…that was another problem he had. Kiffin also accepted Daniel Hood who participated in the rape and sodomy of a 14-year-old girl who reportedly was his cousin. I have attached a link for anyone wanting to know how low the desperate Kiffin will stoop to get recruits.

Well if the Vols HAVE to think they “beat out” schools that at least offered Ambles that is fine . Georgia never did show any great interest nor were they a player for his services .

I followed this kid’s recruitment back during the time Bama was indeed interested and at NO TIME did the Dawgs make a serious push for him .

As far as Tennessee “beating” everyone else that DID show some interest at some point or time I can say I find it funny that the Vols weren’t even in the picture when Bama cooled on him . He quit being a topic of discussion MONTHS ago except for “What happened to that Ambles kid ? “

Tyler facts are fact. Ga., Fla, et al may have wanted him at 1 time, but did stop recruiting him. I know the kid personally and stand by my previous post.
