For you UGA fans that never heard of Green, try learning to read, it really will help you down the line. I know "drivin a truck" is all you have ever wanted to do. But for most of us an education defines who we are. Never mind, you choose to go to UGA, education doesn't happen up there in Athens.

I thought it was a common fact these days that recruiting rankings don't matter. Do you know in 2005 GT's class was ranked last in the ACC? This class had Vance Walker (NFL), Michael Johnson (NFL), Word-Daniels (4 year starter), Dan Voss (4 year starter), AT Barners (AJC Super 11), Cord Howard (Pre-Season All-ACC) and Greg Smith (transferred but was a contributor).

Guys like Phillip Wheeler, Gary Guyton, and James Butler, all contributors in the NFL were unranked two stars. There are a million examples of this.

Bottomline, if this staff wants them, that's good enough for me.

Bulldog Logic...

Long Dawg

"It also leads to Tech nerds surfing UGA blogs because ther is no Tech blog fro lackof interest."

So you must really be interested in UGA today to surf on Tech recruiting news.

"their lack of conference championships (1 plus a co-championship in 26 years)"

I guess ugas 2 in 26 years really is that much better. Tech won 5 in their first 26 years in the SEC.

"Tech is no MIT. Don’t even mention that in the same blog."

US News Best Engineering Schools 2009 - MIT #1, GT #4

"Ryan, I love the way you pretend the 38 to 3 beat down waqsn’t a beatdown because LSU cashed in on mistakes. Stafford threw a bad pass returned for a touchdown and Samuels fumbled a kickoff that led to a touchdown. "

GT Turnover Margins - v. LSU, -3. v. UGA, +1. Not comparable really. Staffords mistake was throwing it to Morgan. It wasn't a uga mistake that Morgan is an All-American and took it to the house. Moreover, the second half Dwyer's runs of 60 and 23 and Roddy Jones runs of 8, 8, 62, 54 can't all be mistakes.

Tech was even on yards with LSU, and 1/3 of those yards came in the first quarter when the game was still close (and half of those yards came in the first half).

For any real football fans, does CPJ's recruiting style remind you of the way that Jimmy Johnson drafted or how Bill Belichik goes after free agents? Jimmy Johnson said that he wouldn't pay for free agents because he could scout talent in the late rounds of the draft. Truth is, he drafted two hall of famers in rounds that no longer exist. Belichik gets players that fit his system.

It seems to me that CPJ thinks he can find players and assess them better than other coaches because he's going to focus on GA and get guys that fit the system. As such, we will continue to lose the recruiting battle in numbers of stars. But, like Johnson and Belichik, I think we will continue to win football games in November :)

TAMPAGATOR:

I'm with you on this one. I also checked this blog out to see if there were UGA fans talking sh*t. How embarassing. I just don't understand the mentality of tearing down another program to help boost your own insecurities?

UGA - luv 'em, they're my team.
GT - my alma mater, but I've loved the dogs since I was a kid. On the way up with PJ, a great coach.
UF - on a nice run, and I love playing the best, it only makes you better

UGA, GT and UF bloggers throwing crap on here...grow the heck up. Get a life. Do something, so the adults can enjoy talking football.

The greatest party of the beloved UGAg is that most of you morons never went to school at Georgia. I'd like to see the statistics on how many people who root for Georgia actually went to Georgia. I'm assuming it would be possibly 20%. Every trailer in the great cities of Snellville, Lawerenceville, and Dacula have UGA flags hanging on it. Anyway, WE BEAT THE PRE-SEASON National Champs. And the simple fact that DOG nation has their panties in a bunch over GaTech is all I need to know. You seem a bit worried.FEELS LIKE THE RIVALRIES BACK, and anyone who doesn't think that's a good thing for this state can suck one Cant wait til the season starts and hope the Dogs are riding the undefeated train all the way to the Flats. GO JACKETS!!!

I am SOO sick and tired of all the fricken UGA fans that get on tech blogs and post crap about how our recruits suck and "7 of the last 8" and all the other junk. You guys lost last year, get over it and hush up till november. And oh, since the "mighty dawgs" didnt offer shawn green, he must not be worth a flip, right?? We did just fine last year with 2, 3, and 4 star recruits, and they are only getting better for next year as well as the recruiting. Eventually yall will see when we make it two in a row. GO JACKETS

I got my undergraduate and graduate degree from UGA and I am a General Manager of Sales in largest soft drink company in the world (take a guess where I work). Anyways, I have a two GT graduates that work for me and after UGA has dominated GT since the Mark Richt era, it was eye-opening for us to lose to GT last year. I will admit that I love the spirited conversation out there and keep it up. This is why college football in the South is so great.

With that said, congrats to Tech for beating us but UGA begins a new period of consecutive dominance.

And thanks for bringing up Corky's pick-6 to Morgan Burnett last year. I really enjoyed that.

Keep it up with your "if, if, if" crapola. It's all you're gonna have the next few years. I can play that game, too. If Reggie Ball didn't complete less than 50% of his passes and have a horrible TD-INT ratio GT would have won from 04-06. And if Gailey wasn't so incompetent the series would have been a lot closer during his tenure, because our defense and Tenuta sure did their part from 04-06, giving up an average of 16 ppg vs. Georgia. No wins to show for it.

Bottom line, the final score is all that matters, and it read 45-42 GT in 2008. PJ is batting 1.000 vs. Richt and Georgia.

You lost. I know you hate it, and I know it stings, but it is what it is. Losers, that is what you are until the 2009 game. Later.

If anyone reads post they know I see both sides of things with UGA having owned tech. But UGA fans are forgetting one thing CPJ beat you in your own house with 2 3 4 star recruits. He will beat the hell out of UGA this year with our own stadium filled with black and red. Our o-line was god awful last year and we still racked up 409 on yall. Get over the Gailey years cause CPJ beat yall with players that gailey couldnt even come close to yall with. Mark this down Nov 27 CPJ and the deisel are going to shut up the sidewalk UGA fans with an ass whipping that yall gave us a few years back. And all these crazy sidewalk fans will want CMR fired.

By the way Dwyer is 2 times the Knowshow will ever be
So quit the fluke talk its called adjustments at half time and nesbit finally pitching the damn ball. And quit talking about LSU they handled our o-line. your not LSU fans ur UGA fans and you couldnt tackle or figure out rocket sweep to the right. Good luck it only gets harder to stop as he gets his guys 2-3-4-5 star doesnt really matter.

Long Dawg: I see you are still referencing the Gailey years and ancient history before Paul Johnson - one of the best gameday coaches in America - arrived at GT. Very convenient. I'd say you should be a lawyer, but you'd probably get chewed up and spit out by your counterpart. It's too easy.

You guys have had the better hand recently, no doubt. You can thank Chan Gailey and Reggie Ball for much of that - and Bill Lewis during the early 90s.

I also loved your allusion to GT fans trolling UGA fans' board IN THIS PARTICULAR THREAD - which shows the exact opposite. That made me LMAO.

I'll remember your handle and see if you have the gonads to return in November. I'm sure you'll dazzle me at that time with UGA's record against GT during the Vince Dooley era - since that's so relevant to GT's current coaching staff and players.

One last question for you, what year did you graduate from UGA and which major?

Long Dawg: I see you are still referencing the Gailey years and ancient history before Paul Johnson – one of the best gameday coaches in America – arrived at GT. Very convenient. I’d say you should be a lawyer, but you’d probably get chewed up and spit out by your counterpart. It’s too easy.

Dawg foot... your school does have an engineering program... maybe I shouldn't call it your school (you would know that)...

And Tech has a liberal arts program as well as a management program that trumps UGAs... You can't win this battle

I think it is really interesting the amount of comments from uga fans directed towards Georgia Tech in regards to its academics... You can't be serious... We have a top three engineering program in the nation and a top 6 in the world... We have plenty of programs that are top in the nation as well. Even our management program is something like top 20 in the nation. Plus its not like companies like NCR are coming to Georgia because of UGA...

so to
Big Dawg: O'keefe high?

Cincinatti Bowtie: "UGA has only 3 left…sign of a good institution." (so you judge your school by the amount of scholarships you have left... We have probably put more guys in space than you have signed high school recruits this year for football...)

Once a dawg, always a dawg: "pitiful excuse for a school." Did you go to college? High School?

And this talk about "terrorist tech"? Seriously... one of your active professors killed three people on campus and ran away and shot himself... And plus the US defense program gets a lot more from tech than UGA.

And about this "everyone gets mugged" business... Most of the crime isn't on tech's campus, it has been in home park (there are actually a lot of uga fans there as well). The area is a lot less sketchy than the slums around Athens. The actual campus is and has always been covered very heavily by cops... And its not like Athens where the cops are too busy busting football players for drunk driving. Plus, I'm not sure how many of you have been on campus in the last 5 years, it is starting to look exceptional. We are one of the greenest campuses in the world, upholding to the standards the state is starting to live up to in green living, much because of the work Tech has done... Come by sometime and check it out.

juvenal - what's your hard-on for MIT? Your insecurities are showing. What's the source of salaries you mention above? UGA is the state university with a broad base of study so you cannot compare salaries between nerd tech and UGA. If UGA had an engineering school that would be a logical comparison. Get you head out of your arse and start making sense.

I came on this "Georgia Tech" blog (which it isn't) and I found all these Georgia Bulldog bloggers on here who always rip me for getting on their "Georgia Bulldog" blog (which it isn't).
Congrats to Tech for getting a committment from another highly rated kid,and the same to UGA for their young man as well. Will all you other idiots just TRY to get a life. Most of these high school kids are good citizens who will go to class and stay out of trouble. So lets hope they all do and make their fans proud. You guys who call a kid a "thug" just cause he's not attending your favorite school or make jokes about some other kids football talent cause some "expert" who never played or coached a game doesn't like his 40 time and didn't give him 5 "stars" (whatever the f--k that means) are really just screaming your ignorance to the world.Let me tell you something, If Mark Richt or Paul Johnson sign a kid it's because they think they will be an asset to the school and the team. And they know waaay better than you clowns.

hahahahahahahah

Wow I’m glad I’m not a Tech fan…Florida, UGA, Texas, Ohio State, etc. ALWAYS have top 5 recruiting classes.
YOU MUST BE THE DUMBEST UGA FAN OF THEM ALL!!!!!!!! I BET U DIDN’T EVEN GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL.

Florida, Texas and Ohio State all have recent National Championships; Georgia doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned with those teams. GT’s recent recruiting rankings 2004 = 35th 2005 = 48th 2006 = 49th The (red shirt) seniors, the seniors and the juniors that beat UGA came from these lousy classes. And UGA ‘s 04, 05, 06 rankings were 2004 =6th 2005 = 10th 2006 = 4th. WOW recruiting at its best.

Ryan, I love the way you pretend the 38 to 3 beat down waqsn't a beatdown because LSU cashed in on mistakes. Stafford threw a bad pass returned for a touchdown and Samuels fumbled a kickoff that led to a touchdown. With out those mistakes the streak would be at 8. Same logic you just used.

I hope you Ugagers enjoy this years recruiting class of yours. The question will be, who will be their headcoach? Because after a six or seven win season ya'll have this year, Mark Richt will be run out of town. He hasn't experienced the crybaby mutt nation, yet!

Ryan, there is nothing hypothetical about Tech's record in the ACC since 1983 (.560 winning %) or their record against Georgia (59/39/5) or their bowl record the last 4 years (0 wins), their lack of top 10 finishes (0), their lack of 10 win seasons (0), their lack of conference championships (1 plus a co-championship in 26 years). All that stellar performance leads to a complete lack of interest and no fan support. It also leads to Tech nerds surfing UGA blogs because ther is no Tech blog fro lackof interest. So I understand why you are so mad and jealous about UGA and so proud of your first fluke win in 8 years. Enjoy it while you can. Tech will always be tech.

Also, look at total offense and other stats in the CFA Bowl. You will probably be surprised.

The margin was so ugly because LSU cashed in every single first half mistake and the game was over early. Credit to them.

If Georgia fans are using that game as a blue print for success, you may be in for a rude awakening this November. You see what can happen when we don't put the ball on the ground - 409 yards of rushing offense and 45 points. Georgia's line is going to have to be very dominant to hope for an LSU-type performance from GT. On top of that, you're going to have to hope for mental mistakes in the special teams category...basically, an overall horrendous performance from GT.

I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket expecting a repeat of Tech's abysmal bowl performance. Reality may come crashing down hard on you. But hey, keep thinking what you want. November will speak for itself.

Lil Yodi - Much respect to you and your level of CLASS

Please teach it to rubes like "Insect Sprayer"

(I agree that some GT fans need the same lesson)

Patrick: Thanks for your reply, it's nice to actually read a cogent response from a Georgia fan that isn't filled with drivel and rabid barking.

I will say I think calling last year a "fluke" is a bit of a generalization given my poking fun at UGA's tackling. That's like saying GT's losses to UGA in '04, '05, and '06 were the result of boneheaded plays and nothing more (4th down throwaway, Ball's pick in '05, Ball's fumble in '06). Those plays, and Brown's poor tackle attempt were, in fact, microcosms of the team who was not prepared as well as the other. Like you said, the bottom line/difference was execution or coaching - which hurt UGA last year and GT in the games I just referenced.

The LSU game was a stinker. I was there, it was rough. But, bottom line, A LOT of teams would have beaten GT that night. We had three turnovers, a fumbled punt inside the 20, and a failed 4th down attempt on a fake punt. LSU played flawless ball and made us pay for our multiple mistakes...that's what good teams do. GT played arguably its sloppiest game of the year, and you saw the result. I think you may be right with your "swagger" comment - bottom line, we played poorly and they made us pay dearly. All the credit to them. Jefferson played well. Hey, I would have loved to play against Jarret "Pick-6" Lee like UGA got to in Baton Rouge, but Les Miles had wised up by then and given him the hook.

Look at GT's record last year when they didn't make mistakes/turnovers. You'll probably impressed. The CFA Bowl was a debacle, but not many teams would have lost to GT that night, Georgia included. When we execute, we are very tough to beat. I expect our execution to improve big time in 2009.

Look forward to November. Take care!
