If Georgia Tech is taking a wait-and-see approach with Knoxville Catholic offensive guard Zak Tait, it should hardly be surprising, given the severity of the 2007 knee injury that cost him all of 2008 as well.
But it’s hardly fazing the 6-foot-4, 295-pound rising senior, who suffered three torn ligaments in his left knee on Sept. 21, 2007, and two surgeries since to repair them.
Tait tells Dave Hooker of the Knoxville News Sentinel that he’s already got more scholarship offers than he needs, with Colorado, Iowa State and New Mexico having anted up. And even with the injury and the time it has cost Tait on the playing field, the News Sentinel ranks him the state of Tennessee’s ninth-best prospect.
“I could have 100 offers but at the end of day I’m only going to go to one place and play for one team,” Tait told Hooker.

This a Tech story…….let’s talk D&D, Star Trek, and tickle piles. My Light Saber really gets stiff talking these topics with my fellow nerds!

Wow another kid that is unfazed by the prospect of an offer by Tech – hardly worthy of making the news.

Offers from Colorado, Iowa State and New Mexico. And Georgia Tech doesn’t do anything for the kid. Enough said.

Not as interesting as a player getting arrested. Speaking of that I saw where the tallies are in for the Fulmer cup. Looks like the dawgs lead the conference in arrests over the last 4 years with 30 so this dawgs senior class has the fulmer cup wrapped up. We ran a distant second with 24 arrests and UT was third with 21.

and yet 3* Roddy Jones rushed for over 200 yards against Georgia’s finesse defense. Georgia needs to recruit some grown men that can tackle.

Chewy: All dawgs have a great time until the season starts. Those recruitin stars that UGA always has turn to mush by the 5th or 6th game.

Essentially what you have here is a complete non-story about an athlete being written as a worthwhile story and then commented on by a slew of non-athletes…go figure…remind me to reading all this blather, OK?

To Tommy Jack-read the article hick-the headlines read Eric Berrys brother commits to Tennesee. It is impossible to commit if you were never offered.Great that you are back Tony, maybe Tennesee can stop recruiting 13 yr olds and tech can forget thier fantasy of beating UGA more than once a decade.

Witty ‘roid–First you gotta know dingleberries. Ask some intellectual genius what they are, then you’ll appreciate it. If it was John Dewberry’s nickname–that’s funny as h—! By the way, I’m 67, pushing 68.

Poorly written story. Follow the link to the Knoxville paper’s story for a better account. This kid is being considered by several big time programs including Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia Tech; but those programs are all taking a wait-and-see approach considering he hasn’t played in a year and a half.

bb, thanks for the update. I thought it sounded strange that the 9th best player in the state of Tennessee wasn’t recruited hard by UT. Shoot, with him being in-state, I don’t think Kiffin and staff will have to remove their shirts to gain his interest.

Let’s see—diamond dawg is “on this site because it’s our state.” So does that mean you go on the GSU site too? I sort of doubt it, because you don’t care about GSU. You do, however, apparently care about Tech. In fact you’re probably concerned about Tech, even fearful of Tech. And to use the words you used in your post…”funny thing is, you know it.” So admit it, bubba. BE AFRAID, DIAMOND DAWG, BE REAL AFRAID!!!
