SCTechfan - you are simply stupid. There are lots of UGA players now starting on defense in the NFL....... evidently they were coached and coached well. KNow what you are talking about before setting your mouth in motion and if you never played football you don't know much.

I would not be surprised if UGAy recruits were behind the Tech attacks. With the job market the way it is, a degree from UGAy is probably not worth the paper it is written on, and anyway, there is no real demand for ill-educated, narrow-minded redneck bigots out in the real world

From the AJC today 6/29, "Another Georgia Tech student was robbed at gunpoint early Monday, making him the 12th person to be mugged near the campus since February."
All I can say is that you Technoids better recruit really fast players and don't allow any of your prospects out after 5pm.. Also be good if you don't allow them to read the AJC while in town.

If the majority of experts on this blog were so good at evaluating talent then we would probably not be seeing their posts. Remember these are kids and the hype on 95% of the offered players is just that , hype. Does anyone have an stats on how many 4 and 5 star players actually became impact players during their college careers? Go back 10 or 12 years. Also the same for the lower rated kids. Surely someone has tracked these stats.

The dawgs have to put everything together. They have the athletic talent and the coaches have the ability. It boils down to consistently working harder and remaining focussed for an entire year. CWM must keep his defense focussed for the entire season, not allowing one half of a game or one quarter allowing the game to get out of hand.

REALITY you want be outside to see the trash picked-up? What? You just let your daughter walkout and go on a date? I will tell my son to go to the door shake your hand, kiss your wife's hand, and tell your baby girl to pull up her pants and quit showing her TRAMP STAMP before they get to Peachtree Driving Club.

In terms of the Deon kid that committed from Florida, I say trust your coaches. This kid really impressed at some camps. It is not uncommon for underrecruited kids to explode late. Watch for other schools to approach him. I hear the kid is a great kid with a great deal of talent. He just was noticed late.

Hmmmmmmm. The number 1 ranked kid in the state commits to UGA yet the AJC does not post an article about it. Alec Ogletree is the number 1 ranked safety in the nation just committed to UGA over 50 school including GT, FSU, and UM. Do I detect a bias?

Do you wonder if UGA offering the kid from FL that was projected as a safety in college might have made Mr. Ogletree go ahead and secure his spot? What if it also helps land his teammate Luc? crazy like a fox?

HEY JAXDAWG DID YOU SEE THE CAMDEN COUNTY GAME WHEN NEWNAN PLAYED THEM IN THE PLAYOFF TOTAL DOMINANCE BY CAMDEN COUNTY.I WATCH THE WHOLE GAME AND I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING THAT SHOWED ME THAT OLGLETREE IS THE NO.1 PLAYER IN GEORGIA. THE KID IS GOOD , BUT WHEN EVERYTHING IS ON THE LINE CAN HE LIVE UP TOO THE HYPE. ME I DON'T THINK SO , BECAUSE LIKE I SAID BEFORE SHOW ME ON PAPER WHERE THESE 4 AND 5 STAR ATHLETES DOMINATED A GAME WHERE THE OPPOSING TEAM PLAYED AT THEIR LEVEL. YOU KNOW EVERYBODY SUPPOSE TO BE GOOD ATHLETES AT THE NEXT LEVEL AND WHEN EVERYBODY ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL CAN HE TAKE IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL BECAUSE THATS WHAT BIG TIME PLAYERS DO THEY TAKE IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL.

Deon is a bit of a surprise (reach?), but I suspect he may have been offered with the real goal to get Jeff Luc. I guess time will tell. Who knows maybe Buffalo, Duke, Florida International and Western Michigan knew something that Florida, FSU, Miami, Alabama, etc didn't. Yeah, well, okay, maybe not.

How about some love to the newest commit? ALEC OGLETREE (a real big time recruit) committed to UGA!!! Now that is news worthy! Not someone picking AU over GT - who cares?
Dawgtime...I'm with you. It has now been about a day and a half since news broke on the #1 safety committing to UGA and not a word from our recruiting guru on the subject. CANCELL MY SUBSCRIPTION. Opps, already did that last year. Sorry.

Outstanding!! The Dawg Nation welcomes Mr. Ogletree. To all others that are going to be playing against him, they better upgrade their dental insurance next year. From everything I`ve read about him, he brings the pain just like Thomas Davis used to. A great addition to what is shaping up to be another good recruiting class. go dawgs!!

Word of advice to GT fans, go on and start working on your academic excuses because last year was a fluke. We dominated the first half and made terrible coaching decisions in the 2nd half. It won't happen again. Yes, we were guilty of overlooking GT. When you dominate a team for a decade, you lose focus. It won't happen again. Things are a changing. UGA is coming back up and that is from a 10 win season. In terms of Coach Bobo not being able to coach, how many points did UGA average last season? Yelp, another stupid post. Shhhhhhhh, keep casting UGA as the underdog, we love it.

Headlines: Alec Olegtree, the nation's number 1 safety, selects UGA over 50 schools including GT, FSU, and UM. In terms of UGA not having the coaches, two first round picks including the number 1 pick in the draft. We average 10 wins a year for five years. We dominate the state for the last decade. Some of the bloggers are flat ignorant.

When was the last time UGAy (AKA Ugly Giant A**holes) actually won a national championship. Wonder if there is any other school in the state that has won more National Championships than UGAy in the last 20 years? Forgotten in all of this is the farce of calling UGA a school. A drunken roach-infested redneck backwater piehole is more like it. They cannot even spell correctly (there is no “W” in dog, “Y’ALL”). UGA may be Tech’s rival in a few sports, but it will never be its rival in class and credibility.

I don't understand? What difference does it make that a kid was being recruited by Buffalo, Duke and W. Michigan. UGA liked him and he committed. That is enough for me as a Dawg fan. If he is good enough to play in the SEC the coaches did their homework better than other SEC schools,IMHO. It is not like they beat out Heidelburg, Ithaca, Case Western Reserve and Scripts-Mudd.

Another top 10 class and we win at least another 10 games or more and have a shot at another SEC title or good bowl game. Let's see, SEC champs 2002 and 2005, sugar bowl champs 2002 and 2007, finished in the top 10 in the final rankings more the last 10 years than Tech has since they have been around. It's called building a program. Congrats to all our recent commits and welcome. GO DAWGS!!!!!

As an alumnus of UGA, 1973 ............I too am howling with laughter AND SHOCK. UGA can only sign a vry small number of football players, like maybe 15? Why go after a kid like this? I am sure if Duke offered him, that he is a bright, hard working, fine young man. Can he even serve UGA as a solid LB or safety 3rd string backup???

This is why we are always lousy ( lately ) on D. We sign the all world players and they get arrested or quit. Let us go get some all state footbal players, that are smart, and can play in the SEC. Why go after a kid whose true size is even in dispute???
