Vanderbilt’s talent level is improving significantly each year, making it increasingly easy for sought-after players like KW to commit. Bobby Johnson gets more talent per ounce out of his players than any other coach in the SEC (country?) and has created a pretty solid pipeline to the NFL, so why not? Outstanding coaching, strong academics, program on the upswing, and chance to play earlier = smart choice.

I guess PTC is one of the obama sheep that can’t think for himself. Guess you also believe
everything you read. Atlanta does have one of the highest crime rates in the city. Atlanta
does do all that it can to alter and suppress crime statistics as was proven recently when
the APD altered rape stats for the city. Pennington is a corrupt chief that came from a
corrupt New Orleans police department and was hired only because of connections. Each
of the other 4 finalist were all better qualified and less connected.
I know they don’t teach you to think at yeck so talk to a Dawg Fan that knows what really
is going on around that cesspool by North Avenue!

I hate to do it, but let me stoop to your level huh? … bragging rights are fun. It’s been a while for us GT fans over GA. But only a few more months until your dogs give you a shot a redemption.

Now, congrats to the young man; he values a great education … and also his disire to play DEFENSE in college. And since Vandy is the only school among his college choices that didn’t want to move him to offensive side of the ball, he chose the Commodores.

Now, stooping back to your level …. “Act like they’ve been there before” — 2008 was Vandy’s first bowl game since 1982. 2008 Also marked Vandy’s first winning record since 1982. And I recall Vandy not “acting like they’d been there before” in 2006 between the hedges. You remember 2006 don’t you huh? Let wikipedia refresh your memory:

“In the 2006 season, Vanderbilt finished with a 4–8 record with sophomore Chris Nickson at quarterback. The 2006 team’s peak performance came with a 24–22 defeat of conference rival #16 ranked Georgia at Sanford Stadium, the first time Vanderbilt had ever defeated a ranked opponent on the road.”

I remember some “crybaby” GA fans after that one.

No Georgia Tech? I guess Kyle isn’t too impressed with beating Georgia once in a freaking blue moon and going to mediocre December bowl games. Oh wait, he can do that at Vandy too. The only difference is Vandy doesn’t blow their wad when things like that happen. They act like they’ve been there before. They also don’t make crybaby excuses about how their academics and what not prevent them from competing against Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, etc. They just go out there and do the best they can. That’s what earns you respect. The Techies could learn so much from Vandy if they weren’t so self-absorbed. Its really ashamed.

Gotta give Bobby Johnson props over there at Vandy. He doesn’t get all the athletes but he does great work with what he does great. This young man should have a great experience there. I’m not a Vandy fan but I certainly respect what they’re doing over there.

Great choice it sounds to me. While I am a big Dawg fan it sounds although he has some brains to go along with the brawn. Vandy is known for its strong academics and an excellent school to have a degree. Also, might have a good chance of playing early on defensive side of ball in the best conference in the country. Seriously, these endless rantings about Tech being in a crime-infected cesspool. There are plenty more “big cities” that have worse crime rates than ATL, and sorry, but Athens doesn’t exactly qualify as a “big city”.

Owens is only 5′ 11″ he is too short for corner back. At least that is what was said when Ayers pledge to Tech. Sounds like hypocrisy to me. Which is it? Maybe sour grapes. According to the star rating he is only a 3 * prospect where Ayers is 4 *. Poor mutts can’t keep that foot out of the old mouth can you bit*hs.

Good point on lack of AJC coverage of Owens committment. He gave verbal last Thursday night. Jax, Athens papers and Rivals reported last Friday. I had spoken to Kyle’s father at the GT spring game and am not at all surprised by his decision. Best of luck to you Kyle, smart choice. I am sure you will do very well.
